Hard mode Dungeons

Hi,

I have an idea that will gather some lost aspects of gw1, it may be a long post but please keep up

first aspect is Hard mode, when you finish a dungeon (story/3 explorable paths) you will have the option to play the dungeon on Hardmode.

why? pretty much for the same reason in gw1, to have a tougher challenge with a better rewards.

second aspect is from Vizunah Square mission in gw1 factions, for who don’t know what is about, it is divided to two sections, Vizunah Square local and Vizunah Square foreign, which is two different parties follow two different paths of the mission and they meet in a specific spot to continue the mission together.
this concept can be applied to the dungeon 3 paths, 3 different paths, 3 different parties, each party will follow its path till they finish the final path boss, then they meet up to fight a really bad kitten boss.

third aspect is a combine between 2 aspects in gw1, gate of madness mission in gw1 nightfall (which was considered by many to be the hardest mission in gw1) in this mission there was extremely powerful buffs that the party can acquire after they capture some shrines to help them with the hard fight they about to get into, given that there is no shrines to capture in the dungeons , these buffs can be acquired through the master/standard reward system of gw1 faction missions, which is if you finish the mission in – for example – under 20 minutes you will receive the master reward, if you finish it between 20-25 minutes you will receive the expert reward, if you finish it in more than 25 minutes you will receive the standard reward, these can be applied to the buffs, you will get the buff depends of how fast you finish your path, the faster you finish your path the higher the buff you receive the easier the really bad kitten boss will be.

to wrap it up:
Hard mode dungeons will be divided to 3 paths, party in each path (which will be synced by the server of course), the faster they finish their path the better buff they will receive, after the 3 paths are completed the 3 parties will meet for a really bad kitten boss, which will have a guaranteed reward depending on how fast the whole dungeon was completed, lets say (for example of course)

master reward, the whole dungeon was finished under 1 hour, the reward will be guaranteed legendary component (clover/ecto/etc etc) with a chance to get a Precursor.
expert reward, the whole dungeon was finished between 1-1.5 hours, the reward will be a guaranteed exotic gear with a chance to get ascended item.
standard reward, the whole dungeon was finished in more than 1.5 hour you will receive a guaranteed rare gear with a chance to get lodestones or exotic gear.

this is just a primarily idea and it need a lot of modifications for sure.

Scalability of skills with the current model

Hi there,

I have concerns about the current setup of skills and how it can be expanded.

As we all know, slot 1-5 is fixed with weapons, so if anet decided to add new skills (and they should) in expansions or whatever (like they did in gw1), how it is going to be applied?

In my opinion there is a number of possible solutions
-a new weapons will be added which will be weird, at the end of the day the weapon types are limited and they already invested a lot of them.
- or they add a tiered skill bars, ex. greatsword skill bar #1 has the current setup, skill bar #2 has a new setup, etc., but inside each bar the skills are locked and the player can cycle between those bars.
- or ultimately they remove the skill lock and the player will be free to choose whatever they see fit.

the utility/healing/elite skills will not face the same problem as they are already unlocked so if they want to add new skill there shouldn’t be any problem.

your thoughts?

Expanding the orders without much effort

Hello,

i have seen many request about adding more values to the orders (vigil, whisper, priory)
as we can only do 3-4 missions and then they are dead.
i have an idea that may help expanding the orders experience without putting much effort.

it is by connecting the orders with things that already taken place in the world, i mean the orders are mainly for the world peace right? so how they will achieve that by standing in the same spot?

lets look back to the main roles of the orders, vigil is about coming in numbers and attack the front door of the fouls, whisper about coming unseen to assassinate/collect information, priory about knowledge and history, we receive a task/mission (whatever the name is) if you succeeded you receive some token which can be traded to special armor/weapons/accessories/etc., it can be done via daily basis, it will give the players the chance to be at the same place at the same time to do the task together.

for the vigil i think connecting them with the group/world/meta events that already happens all over the place, lets say i go to the vigil HQ and receive task to join the forces that marches towards the bandits/centaurs HQ or ogres HQ at fields of ruins or even the cathedral events at orr.

for priory connect them with the massive lore and places and testing new inventions, reading some books etc. lets say i receive a task to go to some wreckage (there are plenty of them out there and there is some tough mobs as well) and try to figure out some info and it can be connected to the jumping puzzles/explorer achievements.

whispers is the toughest for me to think about as they are about stealth and assassination, all i can think about is mark some hidden champion that require some effort to reach him, i can recall only a couple of them actually, or connect them with the boss achievement.

it is a basic idea that needs some work to wrap it up, i don’t know if it is already discussed or not.

So i was derping at fractals and one of the fractals i supposed to unchain a really huge guy who looked like Kratos
after we freed him he nodded his head and disappeared
who is this guy? and why I’m saving him?
is he kratos and we freed him so he go and kick some Olympian arses?

Hi there,

couple of days ago while derping around LA, i found this photo.

The photo highly resembles huge tentacles within high waves, which you will get when a kraken rise, obviously, which is grabbing what is looks like a human and a couple humans are running away.

however i can’t read krytan
so the whole text under the photo is a pure blah blah blah for me.

today i saw the lost shores udpate notes, it says:

They came from beneath the waves—the “karka”, a monstrous new species bent on destruction!

your thoughts?

Hi,
I just want to say my opinion, Kodash is not my home server, but i switched to kodash this week to do some stuff, beside i can speak some Deutsch ^^
they are far more organized than my home server, they are far more social, although i couldn’t understand most of the chat, however i was able to communicate with some people and they were very friendly.
i came back to my home server after this short trip, but if i was better in Deutsch i will definitely stay there forever.

@Ridcully Gunnar’s hold, and why anyone want to bot at WvW? they got the entire PvE map to mess it

@CardboardBox yes our border got the puzzle, still i saw few people at chat complaining that even the puzzle is heavily flooded with invaders and they die in no time, i left WvW entirely and when i got back, still the only queue was at our border.

Hi,

i tried to get to my Borderland map, and i was queued for it for around 1 hour, finally got in to find that we are greatly outnumbered and the one of the other servers is literally cruising around our map taking all they can see with almost no one to defend, they also split themselves to attack several objectives at the same time which make it impossible to respond to them, and the bad luck brian who get in their way he will be hammered, until all our objective are fallen to them, it was a massacre.

so i thought how i was even queued if there is so few from our server? and i believe – at least by logic – that the server limit do not separate between own army and invaders, they will all share the same server spots, i tried to jump to eternal battleground and the other 2 borders and there was no queue, the queue was only at our border.

if this is the case, it will be flawed and unfair, one server is flooding another borderland map and leaving almost no spots for them to join and respond is no fun.

I am quite new to WvW, spent almost all my time since launch at PvE, so may be I’m missing things.

Hi,

I want to suggest some basic features (at least from my point of view) that are missing in the game.

1) when I deposit some money in the bank, instead of hopping around inv/bank/inv again/bank again i forgot how much i got, a small option from gw1 “deposit all”/“withdraw all” will make the life easier.

2) in WvW, i can’t remember how many times someone rushes in a newly captured objective and claim it to his guild and disappear, it is annoying, if he can’t (or won’t) take the responsibility of this objective he shouldn’t claim it at the first place. i suggest to put some mechanism to track the performance of the guild who claimed an objective, if the guild succeeded to upgrade the objective and strongly helped in defending it they should get extra bonus to give them the motivation to keep doing that, the guild who abandon the objective right after they claimed it they should get a penalty for a certain amount of time. and of course if someone outside the guild wants to contribute he is more welcomed and he will also receive a special recognition. it is a simple rule, you claimed an objective, it is your responsibility.

3) in WvW objective claiming again, when a guild claims an objective only the banner of the guild is showed on the objective and no further information is introduced. another feature from GW1 (factions) when a guild takes a outpost/town not only their banners will be all over the place, also their name/tag/faction points (influence here) will be shown, i believe it is a decent way to get guilds to know each other.

4) The guild roster is messy, u can’t track the members activity, u don’t know who is doing what, and i can’t judge who is promotion worthy and who isn’t, i think a small enhancement like individual activity log per member and a small number beside his name to indicate how much influence they helped the guild with will solve this issue.

5) A small influence counter will help to know the guild ranking in each world

6) It is a question more than a suggestion, is there alliance (like GW1, again) will be introduced in GW2?

These are just small suggestions for a truly one of the best games i have ever played and please accept my apology for this long post

Hello,

There are 2 waypoints that always contested for no reason, there are like 3-4 events are stuck at some point and doesn’t continue, there is 1 skill challenge and 1 point of interest that are block by inquest gate and there is no one around to get a key/event from to open the gate.
beside of that I am experiencing a lot of lag spikes in this area.
