Such a bullkitten change. I usually would spend leftovers to get a few gold. Greedy as hell move, company has lost all my respect. “For the stupid players” is such a dumb excuse. Could have just added this option instead of taking away. Greedy kittens.
Tough question. I know I’m always partial to the “what I’d do with the gold” type contests.
Maybe do a “Screenshot vs Real Life” type contest. You take a screenshot in the game and then take a picture of something that resembles it. See how close people could get. Obviously some disqualifications like if they just took a picture of a flower up close and found one similar … would need some rules laid out.
I would definitely do 100g to 10 people though, spread the wealth!
I don’t really care about all the smack talk, but this has been the most fun I’ve had in W3 since launch.
I’m not going to complain about not getting a skin.
I just won’t be purchasing keys again.
The rest of the holiday has been enjoyable so far. The chest thing detracts from the rest of the event.
Yep, this is it. To the people that keep saying “it’s an option and a chance, just don’t do it then!” … that’s like putting a sign in front of a Casino not to gamble but to enjoy all the free drinks and cheap buffet we comp.
Honestly, you scare away the people willing to buy gems, you won’t have the backbone for your farming. If “gems” is how this game will survive I hope others buy them because I’m done. It was an abysmally low drop rate.
Otherwise I will continue to ride the coattails of people that continue to pay for these things. I know I’m done unless changes are instituted.
Well, it didn’t encourage me to spend money. After $12 on keys or so, I’m done with that lottery. The chances are so abysmal that I’d rather spend $12 on actual lottery tickets.
I bought this game for PVP, sadly I realized that the gear difference in WvW is HUGE and it really does make a difference. Same with having all your traits and such.
I don’t mind the PVE, but it sucks I have to tread through it for 2 months + before I become really viable at (and be able to afford) WvW.
In the end I learned no game will ever give me exactly what I want but this game comes pretty kitten close.
Can people try to see the bigger picture and stop whining please. One buff and one nerf.

do when they face challenges in rea life. However, I’m also not
totally upset with the Guardian community. There are a few balanced
voices among us ^^. They’re nice to listen to ahaha.
Well, your enjoyment of a game and “real life” are two different things. If they keep downgrading the Guard, I’ll just play a different game I enjoy more. It has nothing to do with “quitting” really, it’s just maximizing my enjoyment.
With that said, it’s early in the game, a couple months is almost impossible to balance everything. Unfortunately the only 80 level play I have had is in sPVP and I loved this move. I do use it in PVE so it’s unaffected but it sucks that I’m constantly seeing the one and only class I’ll get to 80 being changed (usually for the worse) each patch.
I’m not rage quitting or threatening too, but I am slowly losing interest if the one class I really enjoy is being changed every patch for the worse.
I’ll adjust, but it is annoying that with almost every patch we’re getting downgraded.
I think there is a slump in that range as I wasn’t too motivated. It’s almost like a race that you start off with a sprint and then start slowing down IMO. I just started doing WvW (there is a trainer that explains it and also many people are yelling directions – plus you can read up on it online) and leveled from 35-45+ in there. And sPVP (even though this doesn’t level you) it can provide variety. (edit: I see you are doing sPVP – that is good, it will help you in WvW and basic gameplay understanding)
The hardest part that I had to understand is that I was in control, not my quest log.
Are you serious? I finally get in after a 3 hour wait and the kitten crashes on the loading screen?

I’ve been on SBI since the headstart and HoD during beta. This is the longest I’ve ever waited in a que.
Nobody hides for 30 minutes. Obviously patience is also an exploit!
They know.
There’s three theories I have:
1) They don’t give a kitten
2) They are still collecting data before making any permanent change
3) They have something in the works, but they realize that ‘server transferring coattail riders’ make up a large part of the population so they are letting them prosper
That’s my limited “have no idea how to program or run an MMO” mentality works.
I think they should make some short term changes. I honestly can’t fathom the orb theory. It’s like if a basketball team is 60 points ahead at halftime, then the next half they let them have 7 players instead of 5 for doing so good in the first half … it seriously makes no sense I can’t even imagine what they were thinking. I thought these guys were supposed to be the cream of the crop when it came to PVP rulesets?
Whenever we managed to take a tiny little insignificant small tower… 100+ SBI swarm us almost instantly…

I’ve been playing 2-3 hours a day for this past week in WvW … I honestly don’t remember there ever being a 100+ swarm on SBI.
And no, it’s not boring, there seems to be great fights everywhere. Last night we pushed back and forth for a while in between Garrison and DFB, was a blast.
The Badges and Bag system is terrible. It’s ridiculous expecting you to run around and collect bags in the heat of battle … tell me, how am I supposed to see bags when I can barely see my own character due to AoE and then you have to MOVE, MOVE even after taking a spot because there are more coming.
Fast paced WvW is painfully slow if you stop and pick up loot bags.
There has to be a better system, maybe autoloot bags to a player or something. I’ve had to leave “sparklies” because there was a group coming up behind us and we had to move into an another area fast or be killed.
Gems you purchase with real money so basically you are paying real money for transfers when you buy gems with real money which are then used to transfer. The reason for gems is so ppl can buy bulk if they so choose, rather then having several transactions for say transfer, dye’s, boost’s, ect ect. Buy a lump sum of gems and spend them as you choose.
In the end its still costing real money.
Can’t people just trade gold for Gems?

Am also having this issue, though no popping sounds or anything like that. More like a pulsating siren sound in a lower octave.
Chiming in to say I’d love to see this fixed, or at least an option for players.
Selection after 6 months – 1 year > selection at launch. In the real world, everything doesn’t happen at once.
I remember when I was young, if you wanted to watch a movie you had to leave the house and either go to a theater or a rental store instead of selecting one through Netflix… sometimes you just have to wait for things…
Well, you also had a vast selection of cable channels and movie channels too!
I understand your point though. But I could/would have easily spent $40+ on this game if they had some cool things in the shop. Bank space and Bag space is all that I have purchased and I’m starting to forget the whole Gem store is there honestly as nothing really seems that interesting.
But, I’m one person, I’m sure there are a ton of people buying sunglasses and pirate outfits.
Had a blast last night. Between running around JQ borderlands when I first got home, then back to EB to do hit and run.
I have to hand it to SBI’s commanders (again). They really know their stuff, I saw shortcuts I had no idea existed when going from place to place. A lot of people were always grabbing supply so we could get things up quick.
Honestly, I have stopped looking at the score. If the fights are fun I’m OK with it for now … I wouldn’t want this to be a permanent thing though. But I played for 4+ hours yesterday and the whole time we were at least 120k+ behind JQ and it just didn’t matter. It sucks, but you have to think small and think “I’m making a difference” instead of constantly looking at the score and feeling defeated.
you could just look at the map….should tell you all you need to know about how bad your world is doing.
Probably. I just don’t like the score. Most people understand 100k behind but if they’re stuck in a battle won’t care.
I think they should just hide the score until the entire match is over. That way they can keep their precious scoring but it won’t cause people to not que based on it.
Nope, I like them. I don’t want to spend 20 minutes getting to a place that I’ve been to 5 times already. I also wish they were free. It might get more people out in the world.
I hate making money in this game. It’s an absolute chore and I don’t feel anything I do is a good way to do it. I’m always barely living above the poverty line. I couldn’t get my lvl 40 trait book until I was 43.
It’s mainly why I only WvW and PVP now, the rest of the game seems to be working against me 90% of the time with broken hearts, empty 35+ zones, bots … it really is a cluster for PVE, I don’t see how people are enjoying that aspect.
When I PVE for the past few days it’s mainly just going from POI to POI for map completion, if I’m lucky a heart quest that actually has mobs I can kill and not something I have to just click. I don’t know, the PVE game is really boring after 35, it’s almost a chore and not enjoyable. I’m really hoping this is just a ‘rut’ so to speak as I loved up until about 35, but the past 11 levels have not been as much fun as 1-35.
I totally understand why Gold Sellers exist, gold is almost impossible to earn playing more than casually unless you do it absolutely perfect with TP timing or something. I play for about 2+ hours each day and I’m broke.

These are really good suggestions. I especially like #3 (in first post) as I haven’t been traveling and exploring as much as I’d like to because I’m fairly broke a lot of the time.
BOT’s are paying customers too!
So every time they change cooldowns my weapon bar skills will be re-ordered if one is ‘higher’ than the other?
Idiotic rules are idiotic. It still makes no sense. Adjust the skills all you want but to be remapping the keybinds each time you do is just stupid as kitten.
