My goal for ascended armor is to flat-out ignore that it exists and to hope that enough other people do as well that it doesn’t shift any balancing.

Seriously, my big hope is that they’re so bad that no one else bothers either.

It’s very disappointing to play a game where I have to hope that everyone completely avoids the big new content addition.

For the weapons, I grudgingly leveled a skill to 450 SOLELY to clean out my bank space from the absolutely obscene number of bloodstone being thrown at us, which I refuse to delete on the off chance the system becomes less insane at some point in the future. I ended up finishing off to 500 and making 1 weapon for my main out of curiousity.

On just my Ele main, I change builds enough that there’s zero chance I’ll invest any effort into building out a set of ascended gear, not to mention how terribly they disincentivize playing alts

Well, before too long we won’t have totally random matchups any more, with the league system, if you’re a low ranked server, you have to fight a server way above you at least once, no matter what! There, they fixed it.

Yep, I’m predicting massive guild transfer churn, and overall burnout for all those servers ranked 6-12. They all implode, pushing 13-18 up, rinse and repeat as needed. The “medalists” are written in stone the week the tournament begins. The only thing to be seen is who’s unlucky enough to get stuck with #12 instead of #13.

The difference between servers ranked 1 and 12 as well as 13 and 24 is absurd, and those matchups are going to be zero fun for either side.

With “balanced” matchups as bad as they are already, the imminent “tournament” is going to be a 2 month long slow motion train wreck. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t see it coming, except Anet of course.

I can kind of see his point though.

WvW has a limited amount of slots and there may have been a queue of players waiting to get in.

If there was no queue, then there is no reason for him to complain.

Glyph of Storms tooltip needs elaboration

Currently, the tooltip only tells you the different types of storms created

Glyph. Create a storm based on your attunement.
Fire: Firestorm.
Water: Ice Storm.
Air: Lightning Storm.
Earth: Sendstorm.

Assuming the wiki is correct, it’d be helpful to expand the tooltip to include the effects of each type of storm:

Firestorm: damages up to 10 foes in the area each second.
Ice Storm: calls down 18 shards randomly around the area inflicting damage and chilled.
Lightning Storm: summons 36 lightning bolts randomly around the area that deal damage.
Sandstorm: affects up to 10 foes in the area, inflicting damage and 2 seconds of bleeding each second and blindness every 3 seconds.

http://guilds.gw2w2w.com uses Heroku for hosting, and they just announced today that they’re restricting the free tier to 18 hours per day, which of course means the site’s usefulness is severly diminished

I’ve gone ahead and setup a VPS where these projects will live going forward. Still sad about heroku, but I’ll be keeping everything online indefinitely.
