The problem is that not everybody runs d/d defensively, and this patch hurts this minority even more.I do feel concern for those who don’t play d/d bunker build (aka daphoenix build). Though the problem is that most eles I’ve encountered are indeed d/d bunkers and they’re almost impossible for my warrior, engineer and necro.
Necro and Engi both have strong counters to the D/D bunker build.
Warriors lose to anything that can spam conditions (especially cripple and chill) and avoid their burst. It has nothing to do with ele.
Many counters sounds good in theory but in practice does not work. For example with the necromancer, it can never generate enough condition damage to be a serious threat (at elementalist’s rate of removal) and it’s few decent counters such as “corrupt boon” have insane cooldowns.

I am mildly satisfied by the humble boost on our defensive abilities, but the nerf on RTL is too heavy. Now I finish my basic rotation and still have 4 (FOUR!!!) seconds of RTL cooldown.
I could’ve accepted – reluctanctly – one or two seconds nerf, which already compromises our key strategy for survival – which, given our super low hp and paper armor is, guess what, mobility – but not to the point to force you into changing gear or utilities.I agree to disagree. RTL was way too powerful before (it still is now). The short cd made eles almost unbeatable for many professions as it allowed eles to easily reset fights when things aren’t going their way.
RTL is the only movement ability on the offhand dagger. What differentiates eles getting away with Rtl than a thief stealthing away or a warrior using GS? Rtl isn’t as immortal as people claim it to be. It can be countered just like everything else.
The Rtl nerf in addition to all the other nerfs (soothing disruption, renewing stamina, boon duration, healing) was unnecessary.
RTL isn’t an elementalist’s only escape. When chained with mist form, lightning flash and dagger abilities (fire atonement), the elementalist have almost unprecedented escape.
allowed eles to easily reset fights when things aren’t going their way.
it’s exactly what’s supposed to happen with a class with zero HP and 0 armor.
What about Thief and their nearly endless stealth/teleport then? Stealth can’t even be countered!underlining my previous statement: this nerf is not welcome.
With vast access to boons such as healing, vigor and protection, elementalists are far from squishy.
Most d/d elementalists are bunker builds anyways. They’re very capable of taking hits while generating high damage due to sustained 15+ stacks of might.

As a necro, how do you deal with double dagger elementalists?
I consider myself a decent necromancer who have relative success against all professions except for mesmers and d/d elementalists.
With elementalists, it seems like no matter what I do, I always end up being stomped (either they stomp me immediately or continuously reset the fight until I eventually slip up my timing).
I’ve tried various builds around but I feel that the conditionmancer is the most viable.
I’m currently running scepter/focus and staff with full rabid weapons/armor/jewelery and 0/30/10/10/20 trait distribution. I have sigil of corruption on my scepter and sigil of earth on my staff/focus.
My approach is to set up as many conditions as possible (with corrupt boon, staff 4, scepter 1&2 and high condition duration) whilst removing as many boons as possible (with corrupt boon and focus 5). My survivability comes from a high toughness and precise use of fear and death shroud to interrupt their rotation and adsorb bursts.
But with elemetalists, it seems that no matter how much condition i put on, he/she will easily cleanse the conditions and return to full hp after 1 or 2 dodge rolls plus water breath/puddle.
I can never maintain enough conditions to do serious damage (even when corrupting 5 boons, the ele will usually remove at least 3 conditions and have 3-4 boons up again after 2 seconds). At the same time he/she is bursting me with immobalise/knockdown + churning earth and flashing attacks.
If I’m able to survive the burst and drain up all their countless condition removals, he/she will usually ride the lighting away to reset the fight.

My biggest joy was seeing that 50 percent healing reduction…. then I realized it’s just for spvp.
RTL cd increase is a step in the right direction. This skill is way too powerful even for it’s current cd.

Compare the above videos with this one (effects the quip actually have)

Please look in this asap. It is insanely frustrating to have spent so much time and effort only to find out the weapon is bugged.

Any response at all?
This is ridiculous, to spend so much time and effort only to discover the weapon does not work correctly on your specific race/profession.
With the engineer, the animation skips half a second when my toon stop moving.
Hi
I just crafted the legendary Quip pistol but to my great disappointment, half the legendary firing effects are missing.
The main hand skill 1 2 and 3 are working fine but I’m missing effects for all tool-belt skills and pistol skill 5.

Please look into it.

Issue:
Animation problems when using pistol/pistol and pistol/shield. As demonstrated in the video below, whenever the character stops running, the weapon slides as if it’s missing half a second of animation.
This problem seems to be exclusive to Asuras.

Shattered Strength no longer work on self shatter ( Illusionary Persona).
Now we’re only getting 3 stacks on a 4 shatter. This leaves us worse off than before the Dec 14 patch.
I will be playing my mesmer until these ridiculous nerfs are removed >:(
Hair Trigger trait does not properly reduce cool down of:
Rifle skill: 2,3,5
Pistol skill: 3,4,5
For those skills, the cool down dial resets at some point between 5-45 degrees thereby adding a few seconds to cool down.
For example the rifle jump shot cool down resets to 16 seconds at the 13 seconds mark. This adds 3 extra seconds to the 16 sec cool down.
