This is not a necro, the issue is still in place, I am not seeing several ingrediants in the discovery panel for cooking, such as piles of tangy seasoning or Starch.

The wait time in this JP is not as bad as the one in Clocktower. not only is it shorter, but you can have a snowball fight while you wait.

Just take a deep breath and take it one jump at a time. this is nothing like the clocktower where the timer is always at your heels and the path is always rotating.

I beat it as an Asura. I bet you keep failing at the candy cane pole ledges. I suggest you simply take your time on those, you will have the time to spare if are quick with the rest of it.

I promise that everyone saying that want varying degrees of difficulty on the jumping puzzles actually don’t. Here is why:

1. If the prizes are all the same people will complain that there is no justification to do the harder difficulties.

2. If the prizes are are varied based on difficulty everyone who does the easier difficulties will complain that they aren’t getting the same rewards as the higher difficulties.

I’m sure Anet thought about that ages ago and neutered the whole idea by just making them one difficulty level.

Beat it on my 4th or 5th attempt than put it on farm after that. It’s incredibly easy. I don’t see why anyone is annoyed with it, unless they are complaining that it’s too easy.

The tower isn’t bad when you know what is coming. Just make sure you keep track of the best way to handle each jump and before you know it you’re at the top

As an Asura I have noticed it too. That and it’s extremely difficult to judge jumps when you don’t even know where your character is. The first jump after the first break is a crap shoot for us, we might land on something or we might miss entirely.

you have to understand. The in game currency of GW2 has a real money value and Anet has to protect the economy of the game or it all falls apart.

It’s fine. It just takes a lot of tries before you get it. Get over it. I’m getting pretty annoyed with the " I want it now for 0% effort mentality".

For some it’s not about 0 effort, it’s just that we’d like to not have 20 people blocking our view on a timed jp

biggest problem is all the people, Especially for Asura like myself. it makes it hard to judge jumps properly, sometimes impossible it’s a norn blockin.

it takes some getting used to, I know some people use mouse buttons, but if you’ll notice you don’t actually have to click the location you can just hit it’s activation key a second time and it’ll throw the grenades wherever you happen to have your mouse. Also, it’s not about constant motion it’s about finding a safe spot to hurl grenades then moving to a new safe spot when that one is no longer safe. in the event of kiting, just run backwards.

For me it was when I first pulled out my flamethrower, and when that one became neutered by it’s terrible scaling I had a second one when I started using grenades seriously.

me, there are some locations that simply don’t work anymore though, such as the fountain in Old LA and the lion statues in old LA

I completely agree. The deeper I get into cooking the more ingredients I have to store in my bank and inventory. The items that are consumable as well as ingredients I understand not having a place in the collections tab, things like noodles that are only used as cooking ingredients need to stored in the collections instead of taking up valuable bank and inventory space.

I call shenanigans. I am okay is posters feel turrets are under powered, but this is just a out right lie. I used turrets through this level, I have used them off and all through all level ranges. I have yet to find a level range in which everything one shots my turrets at all. Veterans do not “one shot” them at any level range.

Sure turrets need some work. But just because they are not for you, there is no reason to over exaggerate to a ridiculous level. If we want the devs to take needs of the class seriosly, posters need to start posting facts about the profession to get needed and accurate adjustments. Because over zealous knee jerk exaggerations like this simply makes it difficult for the dev team to take the request seriously, when it comes to the needs of the class.

While the statement IS an exaggeration, it’s not as much of one as you think. My turrets are one-shotted often while I am in dungeons by the stronger mobs. In PvP they might as well be since they die instantly from being focused.

The statement was there to simply imply that a turrets life-span is extremely short. Which it is.

Condition removal on engineers seems too pigeonholed.

I don’t see the problem here. You don’t NEED an easy option to remove conditions under normal circumstances in PvE, and only supports should be focusing on it in PvP and if you are going support as an Engineer you are speccing for elixirs anyway. The normal options for removing conditions are more than enough to suit the needs of the engineer.

The problem with flamethrower isn’t what you think. It just doesn’t recieve any benefit from your weapon. if they had the weapon affect kits then the flamethrower would be fine….. once the bugs are fixed.

I will be honest here. The only problem with the flamethrower are the bugs. Everything else works out fine for what it is intended:

#1: A jet of channeled fire that must be aimed to hit. All good here, rewards skill by dealing more damage if you can keep it on target.

#2: A bit of direct damage up front, useful for finishing off low mobs or simply to pull a group into your flame wall as the range is longer than #1

#3: a line of fire that inflicts burning to mobs standing in it. No problems here. a line is just fine, it does not need to be curved to serve it’s purpose. luring mobs in by running back and forth through it will maximize it’s damage. or you just…

#4: Blast them back through when chase you. The knock back ability is there to give you some breathing room when you need to heal or set up the flame wall. in that purpose it shines, no it will not be praised for it’s work, but it will save you… not if they would just fix the bug where it decides not to work on occasions….

#5: another defensive ability, useful when you don’t want them out of your fiery reach, but still don’t feel like dying a horrible and gruesome death. works best when there are multiple enemies.

All of these abilities are useful for mid-close range combat, which is what the flamethrower is for. Now, can you please explain the problem?

I tend to agree that Engineer downed skills need to be looked at, while a rework might be too extreme. When I am out soloing and I get downed with no one around to help, I am dead. I don’t see a problem with #1 it does deal some direct damage and the cons, even when they aren’t hurting the mob can buy me a little time with the slow. The grapple has no use in PvE… none, at all. The bomb… it has never saved me tbh, yes I have gotten to use it, but it only prolongs the inevitable.

I have noticed that when using the Flamethrower that the knock back ability has a tendency to not work. As in, they are not knocked back. It usually happens when dealing with silvers or champions, but has happened on regular mobs before as well.

I didn’t have any real problems with my engineer at lower levels, but at about lvl 55 I noticed things were simply hitting me so hard I could only take a couple hits before Iwas downed and that my turrets were being one-shot by everything. as a direct response to this I specced for defense and starting using a pistol and a shield. My survivability only went up marginally and my damage fell to unreasonably low levels. So I specced into a more support role and gave up doing any real damage and went on to do even worse healing and buffing.

Final points: I love the engineer, they are a barrel of fun. They are overall much weaker than all the other classes, however.

I agree with Asmodeus, Increasing the difficulty is a good thing, but to also nerf to rewards to a point where no one is interested in them is only going to make people not do the dungeons at all. We now have to go through an even tougher challenge to only be rewarded with less exp and money? who would even bother at this point?
