Over the time it takes for a shout to recharge, the banner heal will heal for more.
I’ll give you my support… through this useless amount of text…
Anyway, I agree!
I understand that Battle Standard’s buffs are significant. However, I still believe that it’s too short in comparison to its recharge time.
Sigil of Water
Currently, it would appear that Sigil of Water is reliant on critical hit chance despite its description. Wouldn’t it be nice if Sigil of Water actually did as what it was described to be?
You know, that X% chance, not X% chance on critical.
Though this is more along the lines of “make it work as described” suggestion rather than a buff suggestion. It’s a still a buff.
Heya, I’m a player who usually rolls Signet of Rage, so I haven’t used Battle Standard often at all. But I was just wondering why Battle Standard’s duration is 65 seconds in comparison to the other banners which are 95 seconds.
I’m not sure if Battle Standard is really that powerful, but as an elite, shouldn’t it at least match the duration of the lesser banners?
As an ex-avid player of the original Guild Wars, I really feel that the PvP in GW2 fell off.
This is mainly because of the skill bar and how inflexible it is. In Guild Wars the Elite skill pretty much defined the build you were using, now I feel that the elite skills are rather unnecessary in a lot of situations. The first 5 skill slots are just weapon based, and the rest of the skills have such long recharge times. I really do miss the customization that Guild Wars had.
From a PvE perspective, I don’t really feel that the lack of customization hurts that badly, but it’s still something I miss.
I play this game because it is fun to play with player not against player. That is all.
This is exactly what people are missing. We want to play what we find fun. It’s rather silly that many of the previous posters believe that me trying to do World Completion is for some means to an end. I couldn’t care less about building Legendary weapons right now. Has anyone ever thought that the reason why I want World Completion is to just have it? I thought that completing (the 99% of) was very fun to do.
An extreme comparison is any paying job. Do you always go to work for the paycheck? I’m sure many of you will say yes, but what about those who go to work because they enjoy it? Are you going to try to rationalize your measured rewards to their intangible reward? You guys might not care about that star next to my character’s name, but I want it. My fun cannot be measured by your honor badge collection.
GW2 has done so many things right which allows players to play the game how they want. This forcing of WvW upon players is just one of those – what I believe to be – blunders. It’s not that I don’t enjoy WvW, but it’s not my focus right now and that irks me a little. The experience is not comparable to monsters in PvE attack you while you explore; they at least drop [worthwhile] loot. Plus you can come across jumping puzzles, interesting events, etc. In WvW? You don’t really get any of those.
Also…. it’s super convenient that map completion goes on vistas, pois and waypoints…
No more wall hugging the perimeter of map, looking for that tiny chunk you missed to get that .1% for completion as in GW1.
Yeah, I remember those days… I only bothered to completely explore Tyria once because of that. Didn’t bother with Cantha or Elona.
Do the npc players ignore you in the other maps?
No didnt think so, what you are saying is im a bad i can kill npcs but not players please nerf the game.
either that or spend some time in wvw and see it can be fun, the added danger that you could actually die rather than auto attack and afk help the time pass
Your great assumptions of calling people bad is just vile and disgusting.
I have put plenty of hours into WvWvW.
The issue is is that my server is not going to mystically capture keeps and castles the instant I show up. I’m sorry that my schedule doesn’t allow me to check the status of the maps every hour and every day. I guess I should also apologize for not being interested in PvP when I’m trying to complete a rather PvE-esque task!
Yes, this is a complaining thread.
I don’t seem to understand how anyone could have thought that including PvP maps into the World Completion was a good idea. It’s absolutely ridiculous trying to explore WvW because every single player is trying to kill you! Exploration is also dependent on how your server fairs against others and I don’t plan on switching servers every single day to find one that has complete ownership of the entire Eternal Battlegrounds or has the spots I need.
I’m pretty much stuck at 99% completion until my server swaps spots or completely dominates the battlefield and I find it rather silly.
One of the great things about Guild Wars 2 is being able to play the game the way you want to play it. Don’t want to explore on foot? Use waypoints.
Many people couldn’t care less about how cool Tyria is. Hell, I don’t even watch the cutscenes for vistas. Why do I do this? Because I’m playing the game the way I want to and I find it very satisfying.
That’s quite the hassle!
Except for the very small and tight knit games, rare is it to ever see a developer comment on something in the suggestions forums.
Sweet, sweet blues…
Yes, the chests need to give better items.
I think weather is a good idea, but I don’t think it should associated with in-game events. This is to allows the weather to be toggled by the user. DreamOfACure already presents his/her case about this.
Maybe instead of cooldowns the duration or effect of the skills should be changed. Like frenzy: 1 bar: 3sec, 2 bar: 4 sec, 3 bar: 6 sec. It would require serious testing to see how it would work out, but neat idea nonetheless
Oh hey, I had just come back to add this to my idea, looks like you beat me to it.
But I agree with your sentiments regarding the recharge times I threw out there, but they were just ideas.
I’m sure that this has been discussed before, but I can’t find related topics as typing in “stance” into the search will yield a lot of junk.
I may be doing it all wrong, but I believe that Warrior stances are very weak. Those familiar with the original Guild Wars series should understand how powerful stances are in that game. Here though, not so much. Why? Because you’ve got a very long recharge time for an effect that lasts for a short duration. I looked at a recent thread regarding warrior stances within the Warrior subforum and I thought of this:
Why not combine stances with adrenaline?
I feel that adrenaline plays a very small role for the warrior. Other than the burst skills (which are no doubt powerful), there doesn’t seem to be anything else that uses adrenaline. There’s Healing Surge, the only other ability that is dependent on adrenaline and… nothing else other than passive traits. Having stances consume bars of adrenaline may be a solution to bringing down the recharge timers.
Here are some rules that I think must be in place for this to work:
- Only one stance can be used at a time.
- The player must have the adrenaline necessary in order to use the stance.
- Adrenaline consumed for the stance is lost (as in you must regain it).
Onto the stances, here are some ideas:
- Frenzy: Cost – 1 strike of adrenaline – Duration – 4 seconds – Recharge time – 15 seconds
- Endure Pain: Cost – 3 strikes of adrenaline – Duration – 5 seconds – Recharge time – 45 seconds
- Balanced Stance: Cost – 2 strikes of adrenaline – Duration – 8 seconds – Recharge time – 25 seconds
Not all stances should use adrenaline such as Beserker Stance. Using adrenaline to get more adrenaline doesn’t make much sense.
So here I have suggested the usage of adrenaline and the lowering of the recharge timers. The adrenaline is there to promote combat and to prevent usage of the skills without any combat interaction, and the recharge timer is still there to prevent any heinous spamming. There will also be some decision making in whether the player should use a stance, or the burst skill. Those familiar with Frenzy from Guild Wars may question why I still put a recharge timer longer than the length of the stance. My reasoning: warriors with ranged weapons. Imagine a warrior just firing off like a machine gun from the back all day. That’s just overpowered and not right. However, the ability to use Frenzy more frequently will open up a lot of opportunities for Warriors. This may require Frenzy users to take double damage (100% more) instead of 50% more though.
I know that I’m not exactly covering all bases – there are a lot of gaps in my suggestion – but I’m not being paid to think that far ahead.
I hope you guys will consider this suggestion. Please discuss on how you view this.
How about if stances were to drain 1 bar of adrenaline as their source of “energy”?
I really feel that adrenaline isn’t really being used enough and this will somewhat bring back some GW1 adrenaline mechanics.
These stances could have no recharge time or a very shortened recharge time as the ability to use the stances is dependent on constant combat.
I’ve tried searching the forums for this, but I get no search results.
So I have no idea how you get better back braces, all I’ve got is the first one you get by doing a story mission. Also I can’t seem to find these in the trading post either so I can only assume no one else has found one, or they’re just not willing to sell theirs.
Is there any possible way to get a better one?
Thanks.
