I’d definitely just re-create my Sylvari at this point but I’ve already used a total makeover kit for him.. My patience is running out.

Also have this problem. Shame as I was really looking forward to immersing into the story tonight with my new Sylvari..

You’re a living example of why I don’t want to waste money on upgrading my rig if this is what’s going to happen. My PC is NOWHERE near as good as yours in any aspect and yet I can pull of 20-40 fps in PvE at the lowest settings.

My conclusion after spending some time thinking about this is that I’m not going to waste a dime until I’m 100% sure that the game would run properly after upgrading. Seeing 1-3 pages A DAY of people with performance issues isn’t reassuring really, so this is what I’m basing the decision on.

Also the more I play this game(with kitteny fps) the more I realise how random some fps drops are. I’ve NEVER managed to get 50-60 fps but at a place underwater I sure as hell hit that cap. While at some places on mainland I hit 10-15. I do know that this has to do with how much it has to load etc. etc. But that big of a difference? Really?
This doesn’t even make any sense considering I’ve checked out underwater bits around the area before and had far worse fps under water than over.

I’m not changing my graphics card as I got the current one earlier this year.
The things I’m considering changing is the processor, motherboard and the rams up to 4gb with ddr3.

Would this Intel CPU + motherboard fit into the rest of my computer though(graphic card etc.)?
I’m really terrible at all this so appreciate the help.

Calm down. Totally uncalled for you to call my friends “not very bright”. I did put a pricerange on them as I don’t have a job at the moment. What I asked was if these specs could run this ridiculously badly optimized game a tiny bit better(like they SHOULD), or if it’s not worth it at all?

Hey tech people.

Situation is, I’ve bought GW2 and loving it even though I’m playing it at 20-30 fps on Low/medium at most settings (I have fiddled around with this and the fps doesn’t change drastically) in normal maps. Cities and PVP lay around 5-15 at max. Haven’t dared to try PVP as it would propably ruin the experience for me with the terrible framerate.
These are my specs at the moment anyway.

Amd athlon 64 X2 5000+
Amd radeon HD 6700
3 gB ram
Win 7 32 bit

Now I know that the ram and CPU are on the low side so I’m considering upgrading with these that my friends recommended. I’m not at all competent with the hardware stuff so I let them do the thinking for me.

Socket- FM2, Dual Core, 3.4Ghz, 65W, 1MB, Radeon HD7480D

My question here is if it’s even worth upgrading seeing as how many people are having problems with their performance/FPS even with monster computers. These additions SHOULD by standard put me up to a much better fps right? Feels like with GW2 you never know though..

Same problem. I was getting 45-60+ FPS pre Holiday patch. Now after supposedly “returning game to normal” I’m getting 30-45. Hmm, not good. Might mention I’m on Windows 7 64 bit and have also tested this on a Windows 8 system and it has the same 15+ FPS drop as well. I’m a 59 yr old retired network engineer and my “younger” (lol) brother’s system also has a 15+ drop and he’s on a different ISP, totally different computer system (i7 vs my AMD cpu) (nvidia graphics card vs my AMD card). So it is not a ISP problem, a hardware problem or a driver problem. I would with 100% certainty put it as a coding problem without any doubt at this point. Not trying to point fingers just stating the obvious. I love the game but please try to get this fixed as soon as possible. Thanks!

This + so many others state the obvious. I personally need to upgrade my specs a bit but if this is what’s going to happen, what good will it do? I still bought the game and if upgrading it wont even help then what’s the point really?..

I can confirm this, even though my FPS is ridiculously low at all times.

I’ve also seen those candy nodes popping up here and there but then disappearing when I’ve moved closer.

Anyone that come here and say those performance sound about right are out of their mind. Like seriously, his pc should get a constant 60fps no matter the situation , stop defending Anet for their bad coding work. This is getting pretty ridiculous.

Same here. Changing graphic settings doesn’t change more than 10 fps give or take.

Thanks for the link kirito. I’m glad to know that there’s at least some sort of work going into this problem so I don’t feel completely screwed over.

Minimum requirements isn’t really the problem here, was just using it as an argument as to why I think it’s so lame that so many can’t even play it even though they thought they would be able to. Anyhow as I mentioned earlier, so many others have the same problem so I’m doubting this is on our end only.

Well that just turns me off from the game, even though I just bought it. Reminds me of Rockstar releasing GTAIV way too early.

Really though, I do hope this gets fixed to some extent. At least so that it’s playable and enjoyable..

Is this really the way the creators of GW 2 intended it to be though? So many people who have the right specs(according to what is on the cartridge aswell as “can I run it websites”) are still struggling with ridiculously low FPS. Even people who have PCs that are brand new with specs that exceed far over minimum are having these problems..

Can we expect this to be fixed to at least a playable state with the minimum specs you’ve put on the cartridge..? If not, I feel terribly cheated.

Preeetty sure I should be able to play GW2 with solid fps but not getting more than 20 by lowering or putting the graphic options higher..

I just bought this and am pretty disappointed, was lookin forward to it for quite some time and with the fps dangling between 10-20 at every place I’ve visited so far just ruins the funfactor for me.
