OP, try experiment with new weapon and skill combos. Use everything available, including evasive techniques, and switch strategy based on who you’re fighting. The beauty of GW2 is that the smarter player wins. Not the one with better gear or higher stats. (these are trivial). GW2 is like playing action packed chess, think ahead, communicate with your team (team speak, mumble, etc.) and use your head. You will enjoy the game immensely if you do.

The satisfaction of outthinking someone is a lot better than knowing you only beat them because you spent 40000 hours in PVE trying to get the best possible weapon/armor.

Yeah, we spent about 3 hours trying last night. It never worked. Apparently there’s a way to manually join your friend’s instance (or there was at some point) but we couldn’t find it. We asked in map chat, and people suggested “right click on your friend in the group window and select join instance”.. But we don’t have that option. I think the system might be broken at the moment. Hopefully Anet gets around to fixing it soon.

Thank you for this masterpiece. No doubt a lot of sacrifices were made in the making of this extremely ambitious game. We are grateful you guys managed to pull it off.

P.S. please don’t take the hateful comments some immature idiots make to heart. Let them die in their own poison.

How do you guys suggest we play the game in that case? Should we just ignore the main story altogether while grouped and each of us do it when we’re playing solo?

Hi, I have a small issue. My friend and I are both playing with human characters, and we are on a similar level. I’m 14, he is 10. I waited for him to get to the same point on the personal story (same exact quest) and we can’t figure out how to do the quests together. We’re on the same server, in a group. When he starts his quest, game doesn’t ask me to join, and vise versa.

Any ideas?

I’m getting 45-60 regardless of what’s happening on screen, with everything maxed at 1920×1080. Game seems well optimized on my end. My friend is getting similar results with a 1090t and 6950.

We only had a small issue of his game crashing as soon as he logged on, (serious error) turned out to be the Mumble overlay.

Because the data was “printed” onto the CDs in advance, and every change they have made ever since (and there were plenty)has to go through a patch that you download

I know how patches work. I was just amazed that there seems to be about 5gigs of new files to be downloaded so soon after launch. I guess the devs have been busy, which is ultimately a good thing.
