I don’t think the buff on sb is that great, apart of the 2 sec stun/daze. It’s defenitly better than before, but the shortbow isn’t gonna be usefull considering the actual meta. Their is tons of reflect projectiles at the moment and condi cleanse on every classes. And yeah the axe buff is way better in both condi and physical damage and the gameplay is way more fluid than before with the reduced aftercasts on it.

To make the shortbow the true choice as a condi weapon, it would need superspeed on 3, (2 or 3 sec not more) we have way too easy access to swiftness in our traits and skills. #5 skill put something like 2 stacks of confusion on next pet attack.

Just some questions for you Anet.

How many revenants in the final of the Pro League? 4.
How many elementalists? 2.
How many engineers? 2.
How many necromancers? 2.
How many rangers? Oh right 0.

If this game is balanced around pvp, why deciding, in a hotfix patch at the beginning of season 2, to nerf a class that is not even op, like the rev at the start of hot, or the bunker mesmer right after. The bristleback was hiting a bit too hard? Ok, i can live with that. But give us something else in counterpart, don’t simply put down a bit more a class for no reason.

Ranger pets are completly unbalanced. The bristleback and smokescale are way better than the other ones. If you nerf them to the current level of pre-hot pets, you will never see a ranger playing in the Pro League. Don’t nerf our best pets, buff all the useless ones so we can improve our build diversity and playstyle.

Any idea of what amulet was used during the reveal? Just to give me an idea of the real heal potential vs damage, because the autoattack with the staff seemed pretty decent and i saw alot of crits so i doubt it was cleric/settler. I hope it’ll be possible to do also good pressure in pvp cuz i surely won’t enjoy a 100% heal build that have no way to really pressure someone alone, but completly refill health bars of the complete party in teamfights. Maybe it’ll be viable (i wish not), but i hope anet won’t give it too much damage mitigation so they can easily die to spike damage. The actual meta is already very tanky, and with the other specialisations, it seems it’ll be even more (i’m thinking about reaper, scraper, daredevil…)

I really like the vamp rune on alot of builds, not because of the vap form, but because the leeching on the heal and on the hit add alot of sustain on power based builds that have some short duration cd on heal (such as mesmer mantras, withdraw on thief…) In my opinion, THIS should be the only purpose of a leeching rune, give back some health, drain some, wich makes it a better choice for long 1v1’s, but a less interesting one for big teamfights or very short duels since you lack of burst compared to let’s say, the pack rune, strenght, monk or whatever.

Here are some ideas that would make the (6) bonus fit more with the design of vampirism :

-You gain vampiric aura for 5 seconds after using an elite skill. 45 sec CD.

-Convert 5 or 7% of your power into healing power

If you really wanna keed vapor form proc a thing, at least make it on a rune that fit this well, (rune of the water for example).

I feel the same. At the same time, i always hated Emphatic Bond so i’m happy that i won’t run it anymore, but yeah now wilderness knowledge feel way more stronger than poison master. However, we saw some poison stacking (same as the burning stacks) in a rdy up video that i can’t remember… So maybe poison master will be super powerfull with that change so it’ll be a more offensive alternative to WK. I always felt like emphatic bond would have more it’s place in BM traitline, due to the fact that it involve the pet, and maybe trade it with with honed axes or another trait.

Honestly, i really think that they choosed players based on amount of time passed in game, i got choosed (i have over 4.3k hours on my main account), my teammate that have similar amount of time played got choosed too, some other big players that i know too, but didn’t saw any casual friend invited.

Wolf + Black widow are the bests imo, levridrake is also good (for pvp). The reason why : control is essential to stay alive, stack up more condi and to be usefull in teamfights. One thing to know about pets is that their stats are not the same as you’re, the lynx like all the other pets have 0 in condi damage, so the bleed is just ridiculous. Marsh drake can be ok imo, but it’s not my favorite.

Hi everyone, we are 3 old players that want to do another team for high ranked spvp, (at least top 100). We are all french players, but because of the very small size of the community, we don’t have any players that have enough experience or that is not already in a team to join us. So, we are now searching for international players that can speak english.

We want to play 4 days per week, monday, thuesday and thursday at least, the weekends or other day’s for training or free.

For the guardian, we are looking for the classic bunker support build and for the thief, we would prefer a d/p but it could also be a s/d.

Here is our experience so far:

Angel : Hambow warrior, about 2k games in TeamQ, he was around top 50 with his previous team, and top 50 also in SoloQ

Vornak : Cele ele and condi necro, about 1k games in TeamQ, his best personnal rank was around the top 100.

Goda (me) : Ranger, about 1,5k games in teamQ, i was in the top 10 with my previous team and i’ve been top 1 in soloQ.

We are all very old guild wars 2 players, we played since the release, but our respective teams all disbanded, and we left the game but now we are all back and wanna reach the same level that we had before. First of, remove that greatsword from this condi build for a sb, and use s/d instead of a/t or use s/t and a/d. Second, remove that signet of the wild for something more usefull. Even with these changes, i feel like your build have several lacks (from a spvp player perspective cuz i never do wvw) however, you should have the matchup on a medi guard especially if you are in an opened area.

I totally agree that this trait is, atm totally useless (from a spvp POV), because of it’s random nature and it’s low effectiveness and the fact that you cannot actually ’’afford’’ 6 points in skirmish without severe lack of survivability/sustain. There are some good traits in there, like the bleed on crit, the 30% extra crit damage on pets when combined with beastmastery, vigor when you get a critical hit, and minor traits are really nice imo.

For me, the “new” Striders Defense should be reworked with other changes: when you have the trait XIII on, the swiftness and fury that you get from weapon swap is also applied to your pet, and the actual effect should be reworked. I really like the idea of getting different boons on weapon swap, depending on the weapon you use, or it could be the same boon for all of them, i would really like 5 stacks of might for 9 secs or protection for 5 secs.

Ty devs for listening to the community and don’t put perplexity runes in spvp as tey are now. As you said you still think adding them in a different form in spvp so here is my version of what a good balanced perplexity rune should be:

(1) +28 Condition Damage
(2) 15% Confusion Duration
(3) +55 Condition Damage
(4) Increase damage by 5% against confused foes
(5) +100 Condition Damage
(6) +15% Confusion duration; increase the damage of your confusion by 10%

I would like to see it this way, so you can’t run this rune with any condition build, if you want to play a confusion rune, you should already have access to alot of confusion to make it worth. Also the 10% damage of confusion would be great without being completly broken and it’s in the same mind of other new traits on the ranger that increase damage on poison, or the increased damage of burning damage on guardian.

Do you guys think it could be good idea?

Can anyone confirm that this is true? cuz i really don’t want to continue farming soloQ day and night to get my r60 before they potentially delete ranks x/.

Q: Ranks A: It is a pretty controversial change. We have being talking about this a bunch internally. We have decided we are going to keep ranks. We cannot keep them in their current format and once we have a better plan we will let you know. We are planning to boost 3x rank points for solo arena, 5x rank points for team arena from the tournament chests (win only). This change is alive now and you should get 450 bonus rank points for a solo arena win and 1000 bonus points for a team arena win when you accept the win chest.

This is only speculations, but i think the water spirit will be a little bit more efficient than the HS for a spirit ranger (idk why they would create that new heal if it’s not). I don’t think it’ll be too broken, so other rangers builds will keep their normal heal.

1) A healing spirit, that give a small amount of hp each 10 seconds when you hit your target and a big aoe heal that heal a maximum of 5 allies(maybe 4-5k when you activate the spirit with a 40 sec cd plus the 20 secs cd when the spirit die).

2) I like the idea of a new elite that summons your two pets at the same time.

3) remove the poison on the skill 4 on dagger, replace it by torment, weackness, a bonus to our pet or something else, we already have weapons that put poisons, shortbow n.2 and sword n.3

4) A new weapon : i would really like to see a main hand dagger for rangers, not sure if it would be alterations or phisical dps, but maybe a 600 ranged weapon.

5) New pets

6) Replace F3 by an instant use pet skill

7) A new trait that give distortion to the pet when you dodge

8) (i know this would be really epic) a transformation elite skill for the ranger. transform you into a giant animal (like norn elites) depending of what pet you have, that have different skills. By exemple, if you have a moa, you have some imba support skills, a cat, high dps, spiders, conditions/control bears, you are super tanky…

9) the skill that change places with your pet, very great idea, would be very helpfull to longbow rangers in spvp.
