Or have those animal spirits animation like when using a greatsword show up. like having the bear spirit animation show up and charge the mob along with the shot for knock back arrows.

I was banned for allegedly botting and waited up to 3 days before i got my account restored but after it got restored, i got the grace period ended error saying i dont have a retail key attached to my account and to top it all off, the forum was locked out too saying that i didn’t have access to guildwars 2 and that lasted another 4 days or so rotating through 3gm . I updated my ticket with every little detail i could think of to help and they finally fixed it in time for me to login a few hours after the special event had ended. Give them every detail, screen shot you think might help and when you’ve almost given up hope..your account will be fixed.

I have tried deleting Local.dat file and re entering the login details but no luck, still getting the grace period ended screen.

Hi, I just had my account restored and the botting allegation overturned. I followed the instructions provided and changed my password but now have an issue with the game client telling me that I need to input a valid retail serial number error or failure to authenticate my playing privileges error.

I updated my original ticket regarding bot banning with information on this new problem. Should I stick with the original and update or create a new ticket?

What?

What “Elite Bot Banning Team”? It’s a broken algorythm that just autobans players that fit ArenaNet’s criteria of being a bot. Why? It’s cost efficient. No need to hire people to form these so-called teams that dedicate their time looking for bots.

ArenaNet hired some Data Analyst to detect botting behavior.
Here’s an article about ArenaNet banning 1600 accounts.

If that’s true then this is a nasty teething period for their new system. Data analysts are great for many things but the situation is like a general sitting back at an office somewhere making decisions without seeing the field, things on the ground is not that simple or the same as what numbers and data on paper tell you. they will make lots of mistakes as evident with all of us left out in the cold atm.

ANET did all of this to all of us due to needing ( in their eyes ) to crack down on the gold farmers, whether it be them botting in game and or aquiring accounts fraudulently

Being in business myself I know why we are getting all of this automated stuff. Because automated responses have been approved by their legal team. They are lessening their liability. It’s not against the law to frustrate people =)

I just wish and I bet now they do too that they handled both the anitbotting program /autobans and the account banning differently.

I suspect they simply dont have the infrastructure or manpower to handle this ina true customer service fashion

You’re probably right, but also being a business owner, I know for me customer support is vital to what I do, and my reputation is everything. I would never do this, not just because it’s not right, but because my business wouldn’t continue to succeed if I did.

It’s also important to admit when you’ve made a mistake.

Admitting to things opens doors to liabilities and legal problems. They’ll just work at fixing it and hope bad memories and tastes will fade once things get back to normal. Hopefully that’ll happen before the one time world event comes in-sigh.

Can't update ticket because my account is disabled

hey, i had a confusing time with my support account too but basically you go to support login, then request forgot username or password, then have them send you a link to your email that will allow you to activate your support account. i was having the same problem with the disabled thing and ended up making a new support login that didnt have my original ticket. So try the forgot username or password service. hope it helps

I got my account released, but……. I lost over All GOLD & glob of ectoplasm, my char’s location has been move from Cursed Shore (where I got banned ) to Rata Sum Bank Area.

Moreover, my friend got banned today with do nothing.,

Could your account have been compromised and your loot stolen and triggering a ban because your character is seen as a gold seller for transferring all your gold to another account by the criminal? Other explanation would be ANET csr removing people’s gold and hard earned loot as condition of restoration, legitimate player or otherwise . That latter scenario would suck and almost unthinkable.

I read that they cannot elaborate too much on this because they don’t want to reveal their hand to the real botters. avoiding bot heavy zones is one of the few that was mentioned. Not ideal at all but that’s what we got and have to deal with it.

My account just got terminated a few minutes ago. I did submit a ticket. I did buy the game during pre-orders at your website and I was charged for it.

I’m going to assume the termination was a mistake since I’ve never done any forms of cheats or exploits (I don’t even know of any!). My account got terminated while I was fighting Tequatl, and the only possible (yet ridiculous) reason that I could think of was for being afk before the fight.

Are you guys really terminating accounts without even a warning for people going afk? How long is TOO long? I really want to have a firm grasp of what an “extended unattended play” is in case I get my account back.

I could be wrong here but I don’t think extended unattended play means being AFK, i think it refers to using automated stuff to run the game without the player being present so its another way of saying botting. I really dont think we get banned for AFKing right.. they usually just auto disconnect people for idling.

Tin foil hat idea: maybe they just nuke an area with bans knowing legitimate players will most likely launch tickets and work on retrieving their accounts whereas the bot operators just see it as cost/risk of doing business and move on without fighting the ban?

Still, how can they justify removing access to something you paid for. There are a hundred different ways to handle the bot problem. No other game seems to have to take these drastic measures.

Why on Earth would ArenaNet? I’m sure they have talented people working for them… this shouldn’t be this big of an issue.

I know, their people on the forums seem to be very professional but I think those CSRs behind the scenes are underpaid severely overworked bunch perhaps. My ban is not yet a day old so i’m still waiting. hopefully this can be sorted out before the nov15 event. Been looking forward to that.

Hi, I’m in the same boat as you, my account was closed for alleged botting. I certainly don’t bot and the only crime i committed was playing this game wayy too much. I’ve submitted my ticket and some screen shots of me actually playing this game. i have 3 lvl 80s in exotic armor and collected resources for more stuff and yet I’m banned. Devastated would be an understatement for me atm, I’ve been looking forward to nov 15 for my ranger and engineer updates but now this 12 hours after i discovered and enjoyed the hidden gardens in mount maelstrom with my friends.
