8/9 here as well.
I was counting on this last day because my game has been broken for several months now, and I was unaware of this content when I started playing. I worked hard for that achievement and those wings, and if it hadn’t been for stupid daily achievements, I would have them.
Why would you have an event force players to play for multiple days if they wanted to get it in one sitting?
And to all you haters who think that we should just shut up, please just go mind your own business. If you don’t like us complaining, don’t read our complaints. We are just voicing opinions about our disappointments. It will probably lead to nothing, we know that, but it is actually beneficial to Anet to see what makes people upset, so they can change their game accordingly.

When I went to change it, I found that it was already set that way.
I already had it set to use application settings, so I guess that isn’t the problem.

The strange thing is, only the part of the launcher graphic that should be transparent turns black, the rest of the launcher stays normal until you click on it and it is not responding.

Okay, so sorry in advance for Necroing a thread, but I still have not resolved this issue. I really would like to fix this so I can actually play the game.

Here is another strange thing that I have found about this problem. When I uninstall and reinstall, it will launch correctly ONCE with the new install, then it will not launch again…

I really would appreciate any help or suggestions anyone could give.

No I don’t have any of those programs. I do have Gamebooster, but I have tried to run GW2 with and without it.

Every time I try to play, the launcher generally loads up fine to the point of the log-in screen. Then if I hit the “Play” button, it turns black behind the launcher and stops responding.

I have tried reinstalling the game twice without success in fixing the problem, and I can’t think of anything else to try…

My computer meets and exceeds the game requirements I am pretty sure.

-Quad core Phenom II 3.3ghz processor
-8gb memory
-1gb ddr5 Radeon Hd graphics card
-Plenty of harddrive space

Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.
