I like it. However, I may never give up my 5 points in BM. It works too good with rapid fire in WvW, and is fun.

Hi. I am focused on WvW and I use a very similar build. Same trait allocation except I don’t usually take spotter. (I swap the longbow trait and piercing arrows for wvw and pve respectively).

Divinity runes are what I use, and are the strongest option in my opinion since short bow rangers really can make use of pretty much every stat. And I also consider Quickening Zephyr an absolute must, so I would swap that for lightning reflexes.

Other than that… nice build.

Good comments. I agree about QZ, I’ve been using LR as a defensive crutch while leveling in WvW. Being under 80 puts a bullseye on me.

I like the longbow buff and piercing arrows traits as well, although I always feel obliged to pick some group buff abilities for my teammates.

I need to tame more pets and experiment with more of them (and with different combos), I’ve been using 2 dogs only for a while, (which are great), but I think there is a lot of room for diversity and utility there.

A balance of support, survivability, utility, and damage. But does it try to do too many things?

Personally, I find trap builds lackluster in WvWvW. There’s just too much open space and too much movement for our relatively small traps to be very good at anything outside random 1v1s and the occasional choke situation.

I use Muddy Terrain to good effect without having to commit to a full trap build.

I’d like to hear from other WvW Rangers about their builds.
