well i still want to be durable i was wondering about using mostly toughness/vit armors and using power /crit accessories to keep DPS up (im lvl 40 atm now)

Using knight’s or valkeryie armor will make you durable whilst still allowing you to hit hard, and is an excellent tool for learning the game. For durability, consider hammer, as the basic attack provides protection – a 30% incoming damage reduction. With the trait “writ of persistence” you will have 100% protection up-time and do moderate DPS. The grandmaster trait “altruistic healing” will turn the protection you provide to your party into sustained self healing. Eventually, you will learn how to use active damage mitigation such as blinds, ageis, and dodges to take little if any damage in most encounters. once you reach the point that you find yourself dodging or blocking most damage, switch to berserkers’ armor: the true strength of the guardian is to be very durable whilst building entirely for maximum damage: an exciting and initially dangerous style of play.

Best of luck with your guardian!

Why are all the elites horrible?

I am glad that we will see a replacement for RF in heart of thorns. I think that the tomes are pretty amazing elites with bad numbers. With the new break-bar in HoT I think that tomes could become viable in pvp since the lack of a stun break would become a non-issue. Since the trait elite focus will be changed, and we will have a special trait line replacing virtues, it could allow for room to give a little extra oomph to tomes.

Rewnewed focus is an exceptionally powerful skill despite how boring it is. It can be used with “save yourselves” to completely cleanse your entire team, it gives a blind when VoJ is traited. It gives an extra ageis to your allies, and can be used with indomitable courage for area wide stun-breaks and additional stability, it can be used with absolute resolution to give you reliable a second or third condi cleanse to yourself or your allies. It’s a skill that is designed to enhance the strengths of your character, however you build.

I want this feature, but I can imagine that it would be hard to debug with might of the protector.

Save Yourselves and Resistance

Yeah, having resistance included in SY would be really broken. Sucking all condis in but not being affected by them. It defeats the point of the ability, which is to “sacrifice yourself”, in a sense.

Mind you, the ability already kind of violates this principle because you can just pop it when you want to gain the boons and not suck up any conditions in the first place.

You can also just use it while channeling renewed focus to remove all conditions from allies without gaining any.

I've redesigned the UI & the official website

I do really like the lore journal. I feel like it’s missing feature.

However, I find your UI to be pretty inconsistent, You complain about lack of hierarchy in the LFG tool, but the rest of your work has absolutely no consistent hierarchy. The current interface follows a strict left to right navigation templating that makes all of the tools easy to learn. Your typography also completely contradicts existing conventions, and feels bland and generic. and a lot of the more visually impactful UI elements seem to be out of touch with arenanet’s visual language. I also think supporting AP requirements for PUGs is unhealthy for the game.

The thing that I find really puzzling though is the dissonant explanation for your website re-design. You claim that the tab-based navigation structure is problematic, and then don’t solve the problem. You claim that there is no clear call to action: apparently “find out more” is much more compelling than “learn more”. You point out a lot of problems that you don’t attempt to solve. And in the end, this proposal feels like a lot of masturbatory work seen on dribbble and behance: superficial. You are designing for visual impact instead of good structure.
