Yeah this always happens to my mesmer with his radiant gloves.
If youre saying its happening without those gloves, do your gloves have particle effects?
It probably just happens with any gloved particle effects.

Your reasoning is lacking, whether true or not this is going to turn into a flamethread.

Your best looking character.

Quartz and Celestial Gear

I’ve been thinking about getting celestial gear for my guardian, and i can’t seem to find good information on the topic, so now my search has brought me here.

It seems celestial armor can only be crafted. I’m over that. It also seems to need a lot of charged quartz and expensive recipes, again i’m over that. The only problem however, is that i missed the Bazaar of the four winds (or whatever) update, and now it doesn’t seem possible for me to get the quartz, and in turn, the gear.

So i wanted to ask if anyone knows a way i could still get celestial gear.

Thanks in advance!

GS Mesmer PvE Build?

He means to use his build which is called “lazy kai”
And yeah his build looks legit, if you dont care for specifics i would give that a try.

If however you prefer a certain playstyle (i like running interrupts for example, even though its not optimal for pve i find it fun and a great learning experience for when i pvp) speak up about it and we could help build you one for your style.

Okay soulbound, accountbound, it honestly doesnt matter much to me i’ll probably keep them on one character anyway, and i honestly kind of like the idea of all my toons eventually having all different infinite harvesting tools.
I find them to be a nice touch of flavor.

That being said however, although difficult to implement (im assuming) i think i have a solution for this problem.

Let’s say my necromancer has a consortium harvesting sickle, but i would rather have the bone scythe on him.
What if when i bought the bone scythe, i had the option to unbind the sickle from him, at the cost of binding the scythe on him.

This would still leave them soulbind, but would remove the buyer’s regret when a new “more fitting” infinite tool comes out.

Besides developing a loopy working soulbind mechanic, i really don’t see any downsides to this… opinions?

So you’re looking for, basically, a build for pve overworld, like 100% maps?
Are you level 80, or looking for a build optimized for a lower level toon?
And you want the gs for weapon, correct?

Im going to preface my post by saying i dont mean for this to come off as rude, i simply just dont understand.
But if you want a trait setup that can easily switch between pve and wvw, and you dont mind changing everything else besides the traits, it seems like your gimping yourself for no reason other than saving 1 minute and 3 silver.
Am i missing another benefit this type of build may have?

Mesmers should be able to control 1 clone

Maybe a skill which allows this and leaves your character useless while youre using it.
Making any clone be able to do it would be pretty hard to program i imagine, at least harder than implementing it into one utility skill.

Leveling a Mesmer...ouch. Advice?

It gets better, i just focused on trying to 100% the low level maps or a map i felt comfortable on, then around level 40-50 and you shouod be comfortable on any map your level range.
Level 80 and youll be fine, i solo pve mostly myself.
Just run whatever traits you like, the clone on dodge trait is pretty good when leveling in my experience though. Phantasms roll pve as well, but my advice would be to just use a build you enjoy and get used to using it and it well get easier faster.

Phantasms use their own weapon, so it doesnt make much sense for then to had a legendary whether you do or not.
Now im not sure on the specifics but im assuming nontarget clones wouldnt work due to pathing, they have one function and thats follow the target and attack, so if there is no target the one function suddenly becomes more complicated for no real reason.
And we have mobility without need for a target, focus #4 and staff #5 can both proc swiftness, but they are a bit weak (throw in staff #2 on an ambient or something and blink though youll be speeding on by) but new skills will eventually be developed and maybe we will get a swiftness utility, although personally i dont think we need it.

Toughness is pointless...

Although i dont find toughness and vitality to be useless per se, i do agree that they are a bit lacking. I mostly play pve and difficulty there seems to scale by giving you more mobs to deal with (which means killing them faster mitigates more damage) and bosses with more hp and damage making heavy damage builds again a more efficient route for dealing with it (not to mention defiance and how cc utilities seem to go with tanky trait lines more often than not)
