Noble Count Outfit flaw

Are folks finally understanding how important mix ‘n’ match is to people? %#@*&~! Outfits!

Its not that its NOT important to people. I believe they know it is. The problem is a technical limitation that prevents them from doing it. Outfits replace parts of your model so you can wear them in combat as a set.

Now that’s just downright not true. There is an oversight in the preview window that lets you see a headpiece with the Ancestral Outfit. Preview the Ancestral outfit from the bank, and toggle the visibility of your headpiece off and on.
This seems to happen because that outfit lacks a head part, but because of that it’s definitely not impossible to have this as a feature on any outfit with just some very minor model changes.

Edit: Went and checked, and it seems to work with all headgear for human and norn male and females at least. Some do cause some nasty texture glitching though, like certain armor combinations used to do.
Not allowing headgear with outfits is still really lazy in my opinion.

I really do like this idea, even though I think many things, especially dungeons, have to be adjusted to this change.

I don’t think so.

None of the dungeons in the game have been specifically designed with stacking in mind.
NPCs should of course still not collide with each other because that would require too many calculations, but instead have the AI simply avoid each others’ hitboxes and when in melee, circle their target zergling style to find an open space if possible, or simply clip through and attack like now if the target is already surrounded or otherwise inaccessible.

Simple.

Feedback/Questions: Town clothes, Costumes, & Combat

Why not just keep the town clothes tab separated as is now, but equipping a town clothes piece in one slot will automatically overwrite the rest with the correct set (or “complimentary” pieces if the item is unique, as you describe the new tonics), still allowing the player to place a different piece in one of the empty slots to replace the set skin? This is of course not counting the head piece, which is separate and can be worn with standard armor.

Come on Anet, this isn’t rocket science.

You wouldn’t even have to “readjust” anything if you allow people to roll through friendly players.

I would love collisions in GW2. Warhammer Online had some impressive world PvP battles thanks to this.

An option to have a crosshair appear on-screen where you had your mouse pointer when you hold the right mouse button.

Also an option to “Fast-cast” ground targeted spells on release of the hotkey, instead of when you press it.

Acended items, niche builds and gear progression.

About the single stat builds, what i mean is that if you set out a stat combination and then build on those stats to a point where they’re equal to a current exotic item, you get the full “stat budget”, but if you choose to increase a single stat past its cap it would start eating into this budget and you’ll end up with a very specific but ultimately weaker item.
And about stat combinations, this would allow for combinations i’ve seen desire for previously, like Magic Find/Critical Damage/Precision.

I don’t really see how this would utterly break PvE balance. The current sets are already set up for potentially min/maxing basic roles.

So, many of us agree that the Ascended items being introduced in the upcoming patch having increased stats is a bad idea.

My suggestion here is to make Ascended gear very different from what we currently have without making it more powerful, but more fun and rewarding while giving us a reason (especially for the more hardcore players) to get it.

Here’s how.

Ascended armor and trinkets as we have it now is a straight upgrade in terms of base stats to exotics we have now. My idea is to instead of this increase, have the gear statted out as an exotic with a gem applied, but let us…

Freely customize the stats on them when you equip them.

What i mean is let the player choose three stats to have the item give, and then also customize the numerical stat distribution.
That would mean being able to increase a single stat past its current maximum (with an increase points per stat required as you go past a certain point, to keep it somewhat balanced) and create currently impossible sets that max out single stats.

This would allow players to create their own sets to build around, allowing for crazy special builds based on their gear.

This would also mean people would have a reason to get multiples of these new items for other builds for their character.

All of this would also mean that the new ascended gear won’t completely trivialize the old exotic gear since those will still offer balanced statistics while being easier to obtain and allowing for slotting of runes.

Why?

I was thinking about Diablo 2, and how it was a lot of fun to try out different builds, and even to level up characters just to see how they’d work. This custom stats system on Ascended items would be a great way to have some of that lust for upgrading your gear and power in a distinct direction, give hardcore min/maxers something special to go for and give that sense of progression as you get Ascended items without making them distinctly better than Exalted.

I could write a suggestion for Ascended and future Legendary weapons too, if you people think this is a good idea.
