Same problem here. Yesterday It was two file but now is 1 file The launcher keep downloading like forever!

I got that error too and the game won’t start until I open Activity Monitor and end all Guild Wars processes.

I just opened GW2 client this morning then It started to update.
If you didn’t get it to update, you can do it manually by download this:

After downloading the patch, manually unpack it by double-clicking. You should find “GWII-Update-009741.tgz” after it finishes extracting. Open this app, and when asked point it to you GW2 client. If you are getting a message: “GWII-Update-009741.tgz” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer”, you must allow third party apps in your System Preferences->Security & Privacy->“Allow apps downloaded from anywhere”

After the update is completed, try launching the game client.

Now it broken for me again. The TP keeps showing loading icon. I have tried to exit, killed all processes but not help.

It sounds like the tgUpdate cannot find the Guild Wars 2 app. Do you have the game in the default /Applications folder or is it in another folder?

I have been able to fix this issue on my mac…at least the tgUpdate does not show up any longer. I had to work around the problem, which was to download the update manually through Safari, apply it and then re-launch the game client.

The URL for the patch is (yes this is a legitimate patch – i figured this out using EavesDrop application for Mac). If you have questions how, please reply to this message.

If this still does not work, try the following:
1. Get a new copy of GW2 Mac Beta client from the GW2 website. Do not open it yet.
2. Move the GW2.dat file from your existing GW2 client (so you don’t have to re-download ~20GB file again). Right click (Control-Click) on the game client, choose “Show Package Contents”, then go to Contents->Resources->transgaming->c_drive->GW2. In this folder, find GW2.dat and move it to Desktop
3. Remove your old GW2 client, including the Guild Wars 2 folder in ~User/Library
4. Install the new GW2 mac beta client.
5. Apply the updater patch you had downloaded at the beginning of this post.
6. Launch the game.
7. When it starts downloading game files, close it.
8. Move the GW2.dat files back into the new GW2 mac beta client. Follow step 2, but this time you will be moving the file from Desktop to GW2 folder.

If it still does not work, reply to this post.

I just realized that there is still no any Sylvari hero in Living Story yet so your idea is interesting xD.

Dungeon running is the best and fastest way to make gold. You can make about 20-30 gold/day by running AC P1/P2/P3, COE P1/P2/P3, COF P1/P2, SE P1/P3, TA U/F and HoTW P1. If you have no experienced with one of those dungeons, don’t be afraid, just post in LFG that you are new.

When you have more gold, you could invest it on some skins/items that dropped/loot from one-time event. Those skins/items price are always expected to increase rapidly in the future. For instance, when the dragon bash event released, I bought 20 dragon wing skins that cost only 8g/each. Now its price is up to 22 to 24 gold/each on the Trading Post. Moreover, when Zephyr event released, I also bought 10 Zephyr Rucksack Skin that cost about 8-9g/each. Now the price of Zephyr Rucksack Skin is increased dramatically to 40-45g/each on TP.

Another way to make more gold is doing world boss events. Every world boss drops about 1-3 rare/exotic. You could salvage rare items for ectos. For all exotics, if it costs more than 1,5g on TP, just sell it. Otherwise, salvage them. A good webstie to track all world boss events is gw2stuff.com.
Addition, killing champs in Frostgorge Sound is also a good way to make gold. I haven’t tested this but my friend said that he made about 40-60g/day by following this method.

May I ask you that which model you tested on? 15" or 13"? If you tested on 15" model, is it the model that has only Intel Iris Pro’s GPU or Nvidia’s GT 750M? I’m going to buy the 15" model which has only Intel Iris Pro’s GPU soon but not sure that It can play GW2 smooth or not
