Status when I left gw2:
Heavies are always accepted into pugs. Eles for FGS and exactly 1 time warp mesmer.
Necros / Thieves / Rangers / Engineers = instakick in pugs.
Solo PVE /Leveling:
Warriors are extremely OP in pve compared to the other classes due to high maintainable DPS / mobility / survivability
Is it worth coming back to this game and creating something besides a warrior?
Anet made the loot system to mostly bypass MF (champ bags / chests are not effected by MF), so even tho at 400% MF you would think you are getting 4x the loot, but its much much less.
Isn’t this getting fixed on the 15th?
wait mf is affecting loot bags / chests after the 15th?
Precursors every 2 seconds?
You also get 1 unid for the many dyes that (were) 1s or less. Seems to balance for the most part.
I’ve never even bought other dyes lol
Yup, you do, end of the world, I know.
Imagine how those who got multiple of the same legendary now feel.
I don’t think theres many people with duplicate legendaries.. maybe <10% of the people with legendaries (probably just incinerator)? Well at least theyll be ok if anet releases a new weapon tier since legendaries will be scaled to be the best..
So… I get 1 unid dye per duplicate? =.=
You think what you sold was crazy, I sold a level 3 blue dagger once for a gold plus a couple of silver.
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/24939I raise you a Heavy Bag of Coins, sold for 20g this weekend.
wtf I dont even

Hmm I think those actually have a purpose though:

tldr gives u op stats in wvw or something. The price doesn’t seem to be purely artificial
Must be a very niche market with extremely low volume… xD
There you have it, you just answered your own question.
You can close this topic now.I was hoping for someone to come in and say… Oh its actually b/c of [nonstupid reason here]
TIL never ask questions. Always guess and be satisfied.
Well, sorry to disappoint.
Whenever you see spreads like that its flippers, which means that people actually buy that dagger for 60s.
Back when essences of luck got introduced, people bought up large quantities of useless greens. For example, they bought 100 tridents which started at 1.34 silver but there werent that much available at 2s and in the end, tridents 95-100 cost them over 50s because they didnt care to check before purchasing. During that time i sold many blues and greens for over 1g.
Its preying on the careless but i dont care.
gotcha.. thats evil xD

People buy it 40s and sell it at 60s, its called flipping.
People want a green dagger with toughness, once they hit lvl 20 and buy it.
People who use toughness in pve especially at that lvl are probably “newb.”
Newbs probably arent going to spend 60s on toughness when there’s same level green str/vit/prec / w/e daggers going for 1/10th of the price.
Also there’s a same stat / level different skin toughness dagger going for 1/6th of that price.
Must be a very niche market with extremely low volume… xD
Dont buy it then…
TY for solving this very strange mystery.
In particular I found a resilent krytan dagger lvl 20 green … I can’t think of a single reason why anyone would buy this for that much. And there’s several more orders for it at 28s.
It’s a common skin.
It has toughness.
The green power dagger is hella cheap.
>.>
Communication helps, apparently. Not every skipping trick is common knowledge.
If you want me to stealth the group, just say so.
I literally explain exactly what to do including “make sure not to detonate sb2 or else it wont work” and then nobody says anything. 5 sec later…. house goes down
Doesn’t matter if you have 3k or 13k ap, none of you get into smoke fields I blast or my shadow refuge.
I’ve never met anyone over 2k ap that doesn’t know about sr stacking.. assuming the lfg said exp
doesnt matter if they have 3k or 13k ap.. nop not happening ^^
Warrior is easier to play for it’s effectiveness, but I’ve seen threads where people have calculated an S/P thief has the highest sustained DPS of any class.
You should be able to find them with the forum search feature
Umm yeah I found some threads of people arguing but not exactly what I’m looking for. So far people have said 30-50% damage increase (sample size = 1). Looking for more ballparks ..
Lose 50% DPS? Closer to gain 50% dps. My estimate would be somewhere around 30% though.
If it was 50% I would change mains in a heartbeat… and then proceed to spend 50% of the time throwing rocks xD. 30% still sounds really good though..
Hmm I just tested this in AC with my 20/20/15/0/15 warrior and my 0/30/15/15/10 thief and the thief damage felt much lower.
Two things I approximated from the big numbers:
War GS autoattack ~ Thief pistol whip
War 100 Blades > Thief heartseeker even on bosses with <50% hpDoes thief have to go full zerk to outdps a warrior? Because then I’d have to give up thief style points (ie +1 to stealth, dodge refund, stealth revive)
Oh and I ran with a new player team that didn’t stack much might b/c I didn’t want to join an exp run with my nube thief…
Well… you are comparing two builds that are far outside the meta. If you compared the 30/25/0/0/15 warrior and the 30/30/0/0/10 Thief you will find that the Thief has superior DPS.
And to answer a point from earlier, there are almost no places where you can’t get the flanking/backstab bonuses. And the few places where you can’t? Those are the places where you will be picking up a Fiery Greatsword, which combined with Improvisation trait you will have the top dps in the game, period.
Yeah.. I don’t think full thief zerk in PuG fractals is a good idea .. there’s a significant (25%+?) of PuG groups that would fail if you went full zerker as opposed to something more supportive .. I remember when I was running empowered allies / healshouts on my war and was barely keeping everyone alive at 10% hp at the fire imp shaman / mai trin. Imo a few seconds saved at a boss fight < the time wasted rekilling a full boss after wipe in the long run.
Do you have a ballpark estimate for how much higher full zerk theif dps is than warrior? If its like <15% then it might not be worth the stress of staying focused 100% of the time… it is a game after all xD.

Hi guys, I have a warrior but I like the style of the theif more. Assuming that I dodge everything perfectly and survivability isnt an issue (lol) what percent dps do you lose as a theif compared to a warrior in dungeons / fractals?
Assume my group is an exp pug, ie mostly zerker but definitely ranging a lot of fractal bosses (does thief sb tie with warrior lb o_O?) , stacking in dungeons so no reliable backstab , etc etc
Any rough estimate would be appreciated, ty in advance!
(My personal guess is 50%)

If a box prioritizes green items and a blue item drops, will it be excluded from that box and be placed somewhere else randomly?
If so then it doesn’t seem very useful …
Oh. I googled it and a 7 months ago it looks like they were planning to phase out Mf from ascended gear… I guess not. Looks like I have to get 50 more laurels. -_-
Are these getting nerfed? I already got the offensive infusion amulet =.=.
For PVE: I have an 80 war and guard. I’ve chosen war to be my main for the following reasons:
1)Mobility: Useful for easy map completion / dungeon skipping / gather running.
Warrior: gs + warhorn/sword gives you 3 low cooldown dashes and free permaswiftness with 1 elite slot ( that also allows you permamight / permafury with fgj). War is the most mobile class in the game.
Guardian: Practically, you have permaswiftness + 1 leap on GS with 2 util shouts. Mediocre compared to most classes.
2)DPS: For solo, war dps > guard dps without question. Guard’s cd’s are longer while war has low CD hb + permafury. Also, war’s traits directly increase damage while guardian’s are more for group support.
3)As far as dungeons go, I’ve pugged dungeonmaster with war without any problems even on some harder paths (In some cases I was the only heavy).
Also, its hard to fail a speedrun for the easier paths if everyone knows the path, so you shouldn’t pick a class depending on this.
tldr; guardians for strong group support, warrior is the strongest/fastest solo class overall.

Whoops I forgot about “For great justice!”. Then its clear that ruby orbs are better ^^
Looking back on this topic it is pretty obvious that +45% boon duration > ruby orbs for sustained dps (perma might with higher stacks + fury) and mobility…
It’s too bad rune mixing is getting nerfed
:(
Goal:
Open world PVE
Occasional dungeons
Ruby orbs:
120 power
12% crit damage
84 precision
Boon duration:
Full uptime of 175 might + fury + permaswiftness on signet of rage
Can go axe / mace + GS for max DPS without warhorn swap
Scholars:
Don’t think I can keep health above 90% consistently
So far boon duration looks like its the best option by far. Thoughts anyone?
