Bringing back to life a 3 year old post that made this question and brought many people alot of enlightment, but now considering all the elite specializations that came with HoT in count too.

Question is the titled: Which class is the most and least boring to play, and why?

I find myself wanting to change the class i play after a small time cycle, even after i have had lots os good and fun moments with it. You can say either for PvE or PvP, if you could, please.

I am running condi mesmer but i couldnt fit chronomancer spec in it since chrono is for focused on support and Direct Dmg, as I conclude out of hours of research and builds comparisons.

Here’s my build: Inspiration (1/2/3 or 1/2/1), illusion (1/3/1) and dueling (2/1/3) with trailblazer (or dire at first) + perplexity (or scavenging)

staff / scepter+torch

plus, i use signet heal, blink and decoy for mobility and extra stealth, still not sure on which elite and other utility is the best tho.

Doom+Geomancy sigils, energy is also interesting.

i’m not any expert on mesmer, i did alot of research and comparisons.

Should we stop playing?

ANET moderators, before you delete this post again, get some shame in your faces and let people express themselves here.

I have a point here, its not the points YOU want to hear from your players but its still a point.

Forgive my sarcasm! My purpose is not to QQ about how this game was designed, b/c it is already out and people seem to enjoy it, so Anet did a pretty good job building the perfect fashion parade scenario to their players.
This post comes with the purpose to make a sincere request to this community, not for me (because i am done with it), but in memory of the very few solo roamers i’ve seen around and on YouTube (which inspired me alot):

“-PLEASE, zerg lovers and Commanders from all over, this is about having some RESPECT. You will NOT get a considerable reward by killing solo players around, and at that present moment, they ARE NOT any threat. It’s NOT WORTHY to ruin other people’s fun by imposing your own, by pure vanity, greed or ego”.

This issue has been present in all the open pvp games. And I’ve had hundreds of friends overall, that quit because it was just impossible to play their own way without getting jumped by some selfish zergers (mostly bad players leeching everything at a few’s expenses – THOSE ARE THE REAL ENEMY, the real threat). In most cases, the soloer you are killing is a guy with enough honor to fight you to death in a FAIR match.

MMO players need some honor.

This is a ROLE PLAYING game, YOUR CHARACTER INDEED CAN HAVE SOME HONOR and IT IS acceptable to have some personality on the toon. You don’t have to cross the world with a big “loser” written in your heads every time you run away of a soloer ambush, if you are brave enough to kill him when you’ve got help (unless you enjoy screaming for your mom when the things get tricky).

Just think of that guy you zerg every day, he might be a good player, skilled, that wouldn’t jump on your fights and finish you when you’re in trouble but still having a chance. This guy might sit and enjoy the show. Because killing enemies 100% with your own expertise, surviving to the match, or maybe dieing and seeing where you have failed, IS REWARDING. This guy might honor you. If you beat him, he might bow to you and you may earn his respect.

In the end, you will realize that you don’t really have to destroy a beautiful part of a Player versus Player game only because the producers didn’t appretiate to think of everyone but the vast majority of the crowd.

The designers created the virtual world, but YOU are its spirit. And honestly, MMO’s really could use some honor and mutual respect in it. Diplomacy exists.

Thank you,
Salute to all the players who enjoy some 1vX and respect other’s.
Salute to people who rather die trying his best instead of running away and call for help.
Salute to the Commanders who instruct their troops to leave small men and solo roamers in peace.
Salute to anyone who puts their real life HONOR and diplomacy into their characters.

Only those who plays this style knows what REAL PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER GAMING EXPERIENCE IS.

Rherbert.

Hello community,

First of all, I want to share with you guys the fact I most enjoy in this game’s WvW.

It is just so amazing to see all those players equipped with legendary weapons, some nasty wings, full ascended gear and with tons of golds in their pockets, mostly with a “commander” tag on their names, all of them, to just run away like a frightened child when they are caught alone running back to their safe zone of a 50 men zerg, by seeing a soloer in the corner, which got level 80 two days ago and is equipped with the cheapest exotic gear and a level 45 back item.

Some of them even try to fight, but when they realize how fail they are outside of a group that outnumbers people all the way around, they just turn their legendaries around and start running and yelling for help in their chats or looking for some green names on their screen. Make it every single class (those with high mobility seems even more determined to run away with no shame, though).

Well, after my experience of GW2 (i was drag into it for the promise of a nice and inovating open player vs player experience), i realize a few aspects of this part of the game:

1. I scare people on my cheap dyes and clothes;

2. WvW is all about showing your shiny expensive items to your no less coward buddies in the zerg… while taking some doors and walls down;

3. Zergs and full groups sometimes enjoy some real challenges… by fighting solo roamers around, since doors taking and NPC killing doesn’t have some decent AI to defy their IQ;

4. By killing players, you get nothing but a few coppers and a small amount of WvW XP to buy passives you don’t really like. So, basically, you do it for the fun it provides, which comes from the challenge it is. Oherwise, you would’ve just stayed exploring Tyria.That being said, roaming with a group of 8-10 people on TeamSpeak and chasing for miles and miles a solo roamer who is just trying to have fun at his own way, shows that wether you are a #%$ person or your group is so bad that you actually see a soloer as a real threat;

5. Anet gave people all the tools to be a self-sustained player under any profession and did a pretty good job by balancing them all, and still this is the game with the highest number of coward players, considering every single MMO I have played in the past 15 years.

And,

6. In the worst case, your character (not you, human being) will die. And if you die, the repair is free!
