Before the seaosn started, I was already feeling defeated just thinking about this. Nearly a week into the season, I’ve met several new friends because of the experience. Players fighting with me, helping me. That said, I wouldn’t recommend asking for help in /m or /t. Perhaps look into joining a secondary guild where other players are after the same achieves. Just about every server I can think of has a dedicated website, and that would be a great place to start.
For the love of god, remove the FOUR JP achievements from the upcoming wvw league achievements.
JP’s have NOTHING to do with wvw.
How about putting in some defence orientated ones instead like ‘killed 10 attackers whilst defending’, ‘tried to save dolyak from perma stealthing thiefs’, anything really.
I (and I’m sure the majority of wvw players are the same) go into wvw to play wvw, not to play Jump Wars 2.
Nothing to do with WvW? Battling against players from other servers over an objective (in this instance, an achievement). I’d say that lies at the heart of WvW.
If you don’t want to spend time on a JP achievement? Don’t. There is your solution.
I’d like an invite if there are still roster spots available.
My whole proposal is not about ‘balance’ as in this format that is beyond reach, its simply about making the game playable at every tier. In my opinion very shortly T1 will become completely unplayable due to lag and queues and then there will be a chaotic fallout of playerbase.
My mistake. I better understand your OP, and I have a couple questions in response.
If you “close” the current t1 servers, wouldn’t you expect a new set of t1 servers to emerge with the same problems you’ve identified?
Have you considered that Anet dictating (dismantling) server population could drive players away from not only wvw but the game itself?
I don’t mind queues; it’s part of the game.
The skill lag is a critical problem, I agree. It strips the fun out of, what should be, my favorite event in wvw — large scale, massive battles.
