How’s it going.
I wonder if they’re still “working” on the fps issues :/. They should just have rolled it back straight after release due to how many actually experienced problems from it.
This thread will die out eventually cause peeps get tired of posting & the answers we get(if we get one) is kinda meh…

The problem is even with 2.5k+$ computer, the game is not smooth.
Well it ran kinda smooth before the 9/9 patch, no major issues. Lots of people can’t even play the game as it is now. The thing that’s really annoying is that they release something that really mess up the whole game for people and then more or less ignore us. Here we are soon 2 months later and no complete fix for this issue. Some of us will be left out forever i guess & it’s their loss.
As it is now it doesn’t matter if you’ve got a cheap or expensive pc cause the randomness of GW actually working is just weird. I’ve given up now, completely.
I like the game and if they eventually release some kind of stable fix for the issue i would happily return, but at the moment i guess i won’t be starting GW for quite some time.
No changes for me, still the silly low fps even with everything @ Lowest and i tried the -nosound which had no effect. I guess this was the last so called “fix” we’ll see ;/.

We’ve been taking this performance issue very seriously and have spent the last few weeks trying to isolate the various causes you guys are experiencing.
Well you could have informed us about this instead of not saying anything at all. I’m not bashing on you, just saying.
It hasn’t been affecting everybody and some of the folks experiencing issues have found them to be due to outside forces such as poor hardware cooling. We know this is a real issue from the things you guys have posted here and have been trying to find the root of the problem. Simply put, it’s been taking time to identify what the issues could be and trying to reproduce them in-house has proven quite elusive.
I havn’t got any cooling problems just the straight up low fps even with everything @ lowest and AA, High res textures, Shadows etc turned off. Used to run it @ Med-High settings without any problems at all.
I will follow up when the code changes go live and hope that you guys will report back as to whether they are making a difference or not.

Would love an update, game is unplayable in big fights getting 1-3 fps. Can’t even really do regular pve content.
Yep we all do but we’re still getting ignored.

I am starting to think they are going to leave this as it is. Maybe the problem has a low priority in their tasks because we aren’t enough players complain about this.
I have a lot of in game friends with the same problems but they don’t waste their time complaining in the forum, because this is what it is.
The game now run in low FPS for a lot of ppl, I think if you can play it, do it. If not, move to another game.
I am doing dailies only now. I am not going to play in the current state. If I get no solution (Here or through my complain ticket) I am going to stop playing this and starting with a new mmo game.
I have no hope in Anet, because they didn’t prove anything in 2 years. I am a WvW player, I know what it feels.

Yea i know that not all people use the forum which is kinda sad and i’ve only logged in when people have linked some “fixes”. I’m a wvw player myself and yea i’m not gonna log in untill this is fixed.
I’m gonna make this official tho, Anet release another patch which totally mess up the game again and totally ignore the community afterwards.
Besides all this, the amount of players they’ve lost by doing this is just insane. Had a bunch of mates who wanted to try the game but they got the low fps aswell so they skipped it for now and i doubt that they will ever try it again tho.

Yea 100% Agree & i can tell you that they’ve lost alot of potential gamers. New people install the game(If not crashing during the installation) log in and think ‘what the heck is this’.

I already lost my hope about this going to be fixed. Not for the time passed, is for the lack of response of arenanet. I am starting to think they are going to leave it unfixed because not to many people have this problem apparently. Well, is like the end of this kitten for me. Already 2 weeks almost without WvW because of this, and I only play WvW.
Yea same here, i just check the forum to see if there’s any response which there never is. Can’t be bothered to log in when the game is completely unplayable.
So 10 days have passed and i’m wondering when we’ll get some useful information. Are you actually trying to solve this or are you more focused on weekend sales and stuff. Seems like you’re just trying to get people to post irrelevant info here to create some space… Everyone has already stated that all the issues came from the latest patch, do we really need to post stuff about our locations and timezones ? Come on!
Ok i play on the Far shiverpeaks server & it doesn’t matter where i am cause im getting the fps drops all over the entire map(all zones), even in www. It’s been like this since the latest patch & 24/7 since i started this thread which is 8 days ago.
Same problem here, i played with no problems at all with everything maxed out, and after the patch BANG! 10-11 FPS.
I’m looking forward for a solution, and fast. It’s been a week after all.

Well i still got massive fps drop everywhere i go so i can’t even play. It’s been 5 days without a single answer from Anet, they could atleast say something…. it’s not like we should have to force them to answer here and i don’t care about the quote’s people post. This is just terrible service.

This is absurd how they haven’t acknowledged that there is an issue with the games performance for many players. Its been almost a week since the feature patch and there hasn’t been anything from a dev. I’m not going to be surprised if there’s a patch that comes out soon that fixes the issue, but won’t be mentioned. Its as if they don’t want us to know they made mistakes. Tell us whats wrong, give us a time frame and we will be fine.
Yep it’s sad and it’s gettind old, like →WHY<- cant they just give us something… Some people actually can’t play every day and would atleast like to hear “Hey guys we noticed some issues with the latest patch. We’re currently working on it and we’ll keep you updated”. Guess we’ll never get that tho.

Yep, just tried to log-in once again but the fps is still way too low. I find it sad that they havn’t informed us about the real issue here and that some people think it’s their fault in some way.
but for some of you you may need to do a complete reinstall of Windows. I think that’s why I have no issues is because I’m running the game on a clean install of Windows with maybe TS or Ventrilo running in the background.

Guys, it’s the High-Res Character Textures setting. Untick it. It’s messed up right now. Your framerate should go back to pre-patch levels.
I do not have that one ticked either so it’s not that. Would be nice if someone official could give us something atleast.
The patch changed my gw2.exe priority to below normal, which resulted in min. -15 fps. Changed it to normal and got usual fps. Download ProcessLasso and check whether it is the case.

Well the priority is at normal and i even flipped it to high and no difference there. Since it’s not only me i think we can confirm that this is another patch that mess with our game.
And as i said, i’ve turned everything down to the very minimum and still nothing.

Yes. The major performance improvements they added to the patch? Working exactly the opposite as intended. Clearly it was all well-tested before it went out the door.

Yea well guess i’ll have to take another small break then until this is fixed… the game is not even playable at this state.
Ok so i just came back from a small break and after installing the latest patch i went down to 15-20 fps in general. It does not matter if i’m in the citys or in www. I just want to know if anyone else is having major fps drop in general. I’ve tried different driver versions and it’s only in GW i’ve got this issue.
Before installing this patch i could run GW without any problems at all and i even tried lowering everything to the lowest, nothing happend.

Hmm don’t know what to say…
After 14 days we got this;
Submitting a ticket is the best way for us to collect this information from players, but on top of the information requested by Gaile, it would be incredibly helpful to get system information as well: OS, CPU, GPU, RAM, Mobo, and whatever else you feel like sharing. It would also be helpful to know what your FPS was originally, and what you’re seeing now, or if there is anything in particular that causes these FPS drops or if they’re consistently low.
Remember, the more information that you’re able to provide the more helpful this will be to us in investigating this issue.

Hey everyone,
I appreciate the wealth of info that you’ve all provided and rest assured, we’re still hammering away at this issue though we can’t say for certain when we will have a fix rolled out as these types of issues can often be very difficult to repro in house.
That said, we’re still investigating the issue but in the mean time, if you haven’t already, I’d advise turning on Vertical Sync or setting the Frame Limiter to 60 FPS as this does appear help (at least for some).
I’m sorry I don’t have more news to provide at the moment though I would advise checking back with this thread for more updates on the issue.

Just curious to see the response here – is there any change in performance when playing in FullScreen mode? We’ve seen this issue occur mostly in “Windowed” and “FullScreen Windowed” and we’d like to see if you all experience any difference while playing in FullScreen mode.

Performance is very tricky because there are so many variables as to why the game could be running poorly, especially if it used to run fine. It hasn’t been affecting everybody and some of the folks experiencing issues have found them to be due to outside forces such as poor hardware cooling. We know this is a real issue from the things you guys have posted here and have been trying to find the root of the problem. Simply put, it’s been taking time to identify what the issues could be and trying to reproduce them in-house has proven quite elusive.
We’ve identified a number of serious issues some of which were introduced into the 9/9 build and have code changes on the way to address them. We don’t expect it to fix everyone’s performance problems but we certainly hope it will help the majority of you on this thread. I will follow up when the code changes go live and hope that you guys will report back as to whether they are making a difference or not.
I want to give props to you guys for helping each other out and providing helpful insight into this problem. I know it can be really frustrating, it is for us too so please bear with us. We sincerely want to make your playing experience the best we can.
