Guild Wars 2

I want the old system back. I WANT to be able to chose my path. I want to balance the characters my way. I had one character with 2 points in all 5 trees; I was searching for ‘balance’ [completely decked out in celestial gear, too]. As said in many places, The promise of GW2 was to be Different.
Compromise. Have some basic skills unlocked when you reach the proper skill level. Have some that you have to unlock/buy.
My thief was a Gunslinger; ricochet was its bread and butter. IF it was OP, then reduce the ricochet rate, don’t scrap it.
You remove the system that did make you unique among the bigger MMOs, remove abilities that are beloved, and then ask us to buy an upgrade. A very strange sales pitch.

I, fairly recently, came back to GW2 after an extended break and have noticed a couple of things with the World Events that I would like to see adjusted.

1) Change the “knock back” mechanic to a “knock down” mechanic. For those like my warrior (hand to hand combat) and my elementalist (delayed area attack, e.g. Ice Spike), having the Veterans and Elites knocked back is just a pain. Having several rangers knocking the mini-boss back and forth is truly annoying. The mechanic is OK for soloing, but just shouldn’t be used in group events.

2) Aiding allies should count toward the group event award. My Water-Staff elementalist and staff gaurdian are trying to help keep the melee group alive and condition free, but not doing a whole lot of damage. It is annoying to get silver or bronze rewards because we didn’t deal much damage. I know the awards aren’t much, but they do add up over time. If I did 5000 damage which might get me a silver, would the 5000 in healing and 10 conditions removed get me a gold?

I never claimed to be the brightest bulb in the pack. Now I know why I haven’t seen Quaggan backpacks on Asura on my server.

But, it is amazing how how much stuff fits in that tiny, little, bag.

The Asura are a small race and the Quaggan backpack looks tiny. I have to zoom way in to see and appreciate any of the details and physics. I would much prefer the backpack to be bigger. The idea of my Asura walking into the local market and walking out with one of the Charr’s backpacks is what I’m looking for. The backpack would be almost as big as my warrior, but it would be funny.

Just my suggestion and preference.

Well, you’re up on me. I still have three frames. I have not seen 1 drop of glue since my runs in the city capitols. I’m used to a level of grinding in games like these, but if they are going to give 5 frames, then there should be a reasonable farming method to complete them. If I had known how limited the supplies would be, I would have been more selective about what I built.

Ooops, missed that one. Yeah, I wasn’t asking/expecting a free upgrade, but an update at a discounted price would be nice.

I did forget about that nice hat, but I considered that payment for helping to test during the beta weekends.

Agreed. The skin tone I chose in the character creation screen looked different that what I saw in the “world”, or it didn’t play as well with the armor colors as I thought. Even though it didn’t bother me enough to re-roll the character, it would be nice to be able to re-adjust it.

I have no problem changing all of the non-game play related aspects: height, coloring, styles, etc., but changing race is tied to the starting quest tree/personal story, so I don’t know about that.

The Black Friday sale is good for new accounts but is not too useful for those that have the standard standard. I did not see a sale on the upgrade, which would be nice. How about showing a little love to those that have been with you since the “pre-order” days.

I hope that the event lasts through the 1st. Since this is Halloween and I have to answer to all of the trick-or-treaters, I don’t have a lot of time to spend online tonight. I was on long enough to get the achievement, but that is about all I will be able to accomplish. I know this is a selfish request, but what the heck.
