Guild Wars 2

mhh. i did it solo with my mesmer not too long ago (last week or so) and was worried most about the chopper bugging out- which didn’t happen. I rushed the last phase, dodged the green stuff, fought one tentakel and sticked to the cannons otherwise.

I will pay attention to the phase when i do it on my necro, but i didn’t find it hard at all. Actually a friend of mine found it so disappointing he hasn’t touched Gw2 after … :/

I already bought the expansion
I am already totally hyped
I will test out all the builds.

i try to use staff as much as possible because i like it. i like staves in all MMOs. I also like staff3 and staff 4, though 4 is sometimes hard to use.

Its not for champ farm only, i do that if i bump into a train and don’t have anything better to do. I think i am going to main her for now.

I prefer Longbow over GS, but i would prolly try to keep a GS in inventory anyways, like i do with scepters, torch and focus.

if i want to try dungeons (never did that before in GW2, just in other mmorpgs) do i have do get other weapons?

For preferred utility, i like retreat! and stand your ground, though retreat! is prolly my favorite because i like being faster. support or dpsboosts or survivability- all fine. I like to be flexible ^^

hey, i am returning player that didn’t play much on lvl 80 so far. I didn’t have much clue before the changes and now i am a little more confused. I just finished the mainquest last night and started doing the living story 2.

I love the staff. Before i took a break, i used a build i found on metabattle.com- if i remember correctly- with staff and GS and Retreat!, Stand your Ground and the last one i switched as needed. It worked for just running around and if i hit a champ rotation i would do fine aswell. Now i fiddled around with scepter, torch, onehand sword, focus and its just not my staff. I don’t have much gear yet, everything far from being optimal.

i can’t find a staff build there anymore Does that mean that right now there isn’t any with staves?
I love playing with a staff, and reading about the DH made me really exited as i also like Longbows. Can i use both at the same time? Does someone even have a build for that?

I just came back after a year off and i am thinking about buying the chapters. as i am a bit afraid they might be retired at some point. If i buy them, can i do them with all my characters, or do i have to buy them per character(which would be a “hell no”)?

thank you all. I am currently toying around with a guardian and a necro , might take another look at the elementalist too. I figured that if going for a legendary would be my goal it would make sense to main a class that can use the desired weapons most of the time.

Hey all,
I’m kinda returning newbie. i played a bit a year ago, want to spend some time here again but i still don’t have a clue on which class. I have a lvl 80 mesmer and some twinks. somehow my mesmer is the only one that got that far, i tend to create and delete chars pretty quickly. When thinking about what i really want i realized that maybe its the weapons… I really like to have a greatsword /staff or staff/greatsword character.
My mesmer s currently skilled like this http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Mesmer_-_Fast_and_Flurrious_Runner and its okay but if i got that right thats a open world running around build and not that good for everything else. I never tried dungeons so far and only did a little wvwvw in some zergs. Mostly leveld her with gs/staff, i am not used to the other weapon combos.

What would be the best class if i want to use one oder both of these weapon types? I would like to see making a legendary as a far goal, thats why i want a class that can make good use of greatswords or staves.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

it would help to know what laptop. I had my Laptop overheating after a 3 months break and a dead vent, and updating to win 8.1 .
after that gw2 just stopped working with the dedicated video card and would only run with onboard graphics. that worked ok, but overheating happened from time to time. Current Beta Video Driver was the solution.
I’m sure you get better advice if you specify which laptop.

Oh, and i have to get the dust out of it at least once a month. makes a huge difference.

thanks, guess i will keep the chest in my bank for saving space unless i can decide. at least i did not use it yet!

I wonder if they can be reused like the Zenit-weaponskins.
I haven’t used the chest from heroic edition yet because i could not decide which char should get the skin, and using it on a lowlevel armor seems like waste if they are so expensive- i assumed it is one-time use. But now that i see that i can get the weaponskin that was reward for achievement-points i wonder if that applies to the armor skins too?

lol, have been wondering a while if i should buy some charslots and try ingi and thief or safe the money and preorder some other mmo coming in april… well guess i won’t be preordering the expensive version if i’ll be preordering at all.

i love it. i can take part in something big even if real life might require me to log out instantly, i would not even do 5man dungeons because of this. actually gw2 is the only mmo right now thats playable with my rl as it is right now. and so far i dont have a lag problem, playing on medium settings on a notebook with outdated due to incompatibility graphic drivers (switchable graphics -.-).
and if i don’t know if its just 5 minutes til i have to log out again i can still join the queensdale train.
