In that moment Trahearne felt all of Orr pulse with hope. Orr itself hummed with her words, the plant life swayed keeping tempo. The buzzing form the defense seemed to add to the song. All of Orr was singing with her.

“Distant sound of melodies,
Darting through the night to your heart,
Auroras, mist, and echoes dance,
In the solitude of our life,
Pleading, sighing arias,
Gently grieving in captive misery,
Darkness sings a forlorn song,
Yet our hope can still rise up,”

The moon lit up the darkness, making Orr look eerily beautiful. The stars glittered in the sky like distant lanterns. Everything seemed to be buzzing with an unknown energy. Hope filled all those who could hear her, even those who were trapped by Zhaitan.

“Nightmares come,
Where shadows roam,
Lift your voice,
Lift your hope,”

Tarrarain gripped her bow tightly as the words tore out of her mouth from her heart. Her tears still fell. Somewhere in the back of her mind she hoped that she was not singing to loudly. It would be her luck that everyone would hear her and laugh. Worse yet Trahearne would hear her.

“Fear not this night,
You will not go astray,
Though shadows fall,
Still the stars find their way,”

Many were surprised by how loud she could sing. Tarrarain was not know for yelling or being angry. She was seen as the Marshal’s right hand and confidant, his strength and courage. Some saw her as meek, a ranger of the wilds.

“And though the night sky’s,
Filled with blackness,
Fear not, rise up,
Call out and take my hand,”

It took everything Trahearne had not to jump over Biscuit and do just what those last words were. He did try and call out to her but no sound came. His mind screamed her name, but it was drowned out by Orr. It was impossible for him to get her attention.

“Fear not this night,
You will not go astray,
Though shadows fall,
Still the stars find their way,”

Any who could not hear Orr singing with Tarrarain could now hear it. Everything around them seemed to have an ethereal look to it. It almost seemed as if Tarrarain was not real. Whatever Trahearne was feeling he thought that it might tare him apart. He wanted to go to her but to him it was like Orr was telling him to let her finish. It was then that he noticed two things. One, every man and woman was watching her all stood at attention. Two, Tarrarain was gripping her bow so tightly that her fingernails had cut her and the blood glistened in the moonlight.

“Fear not this night,
You will not go astray,
Though shadows fall,
Still the stars find their way,”

Trahearne didn’t know how much more he could take. Her voice was inspirational even to him. He knew what she was trying to say, he just didn’t know how to answer her. The agony that he was feeling threatened to bring him to his knees. Again and again he tried to call out to her but was unable to make a sound.

“And you can always be strong
Lift your voice
With the first light of dawn
Dawn’s just a heartbeat away
Hope’s just a sunrise away.”

The last words floated away from Tarrarain and into silence. For a short moment she forgot where she was. Her eyes were closed and her mind buzzing. It seemed that not only had the song effected Orr as it it but it also reverberated within the Dream of Dreams.

“Tarrarain!” finally her name left his lips even before he could stop it. Trahearne watched as she turned around. Asurean would recorded that Sylvari do not blush, they only glow more brightly. Tarrarain saw that everyone was watching her, each member had their helmets removed, standing at attention. A Norn was the first to applaud her, it would take longer for the Sylvari to come around from the song. Once Tarrarain realized who it was that called her name she could only glow brighter. She looked at Trahearne for a moment before turning around.

Never surrender! Never back down!

“Fear not this night,
You will not go astray,
Though shadows fall,
Still the stars
Find their way,”

The moon began to rise making the area look strangely different many of the people stopped and looked at Tarrarain. She began to remember how everything began, the first time she meat Trahearne. Biscuit’s ears perked up hearing her sing and moved just out of the doorway of the tent. Trahearne could only stare at her back as the luminescent spots began to glow.

“Awaken from a quiet sleep,
Hear the whispering of the wind,
Awaken as the silence grows,
In the solitude of the night,
Darkness spreads through all the land,
And your weary eyes open silently,
Sunsets have forsaken all,
The most far off horizons,”

Her voice increase in volume as the song took over her. It seemed to echo and yet not a single enemy came. It was like if all of Orr was listening to her, like her voice was the only sound in the world that mattered at that point in time. All else was silent.

“Nightmares come when shadows grow
Eyes close and heartbeats slow,”

All of the people in Jofast’s camp were on their feet listening to her, each lost in their own memories. Each word held meaning whether they were Charr, Asurean, Human, Norn, or Sylvari. They held far more meaning for Trahearne that even she could know. He hadn’t even realized that he was gripping the edge of the tent flat.

“Fear not this night,
You will not go astray,
Though shadows falls,
Still the stars find their way,”

If anyone had gone and looked at Tarrarain’s face they would have seen tears trickle down. A strong emotion gripped her as her mind walked through more memories. One in particular was the vision that the Pale Tree had given them. Seeing him standing at the head of the Pact. The words that he said had given her hope, inspired her. This was worth it.

“And you can always be strong,
Lift your voice with,
The first light of dawn,
Dawn’s just a heartbeat away,
Hope’s just a sunrise away,”

Never surrender! Never back down!

I do not own anything related to GW2 nor do I own the song

Tarrarain looked at Trahearne soon they would be heading to the Source of Orr, and Artesian Well located at the heart of Orr. They were currently camped in Jofast’s Camp, their small force was preparing to shack up for the night. Fires was being built and dinner cooked, bedrolls were laid out, a tend was pitched for the Marshal to sleep in for the night. This would be a night that she would not sleep.

Trahearne was busing himself with making sure everyone was ready for the next day and giving orders on patrols. Tarrarain smiled sadly as she watched him, she could see how worried he was. He feared that he would fail again. The last time he tried it had not been the right place. Here and now they would be in the very heart of Orr.

“Marshal Trahearne,” she called to him. He stopped and looked up at her, this sapling barely six months old has proven herself more times than he could count. she was his most valuable ally, more so his most trusted friend. All his time in Orr has made him reclusive. Somehow she has been able to pull the best out of him.

“Commander?” He question as he turned to fully face her. There was something in her eye, a confidence he wished he could feel at this moment.

“You should get some rest, I can take care of anything that is left,” she said as the confidence faded from her eyes to be replaced by worry and concern. Her sylvan hound, Biscuit, whined and sat by Trahearne. The hound looked up at him with eyes that reflected his masters eyes. Trahearne opened his mouth to say something but Tarrarain stopped him before he could.

“No Marshal, you will go and get some rest, even if you don’t sleep,” She said. Many people stopped to watch what would happen.

“Are you ordering me Commander? I would never have thought that you would overstep the chain of command,” Trahearne said and regretted it immediately. Anger resonated in Tarrarain’s eyes.

“Yes Marshal I am, you can slap me with an insubordination later if it pleases you,” she said with her tone becoming sharp.

“I will not have you falling over your feet, dog kitten tired, because you stayed up all night worrying about what tomorrow will bring. Tomorrow will be a day that you will remember for all of eternity! You will cleans Orr! There is no way in hell that I will let you go through completing your Wyld Hunt and regret that you could not remember it!” Not a single soldier moved as she yelled at him with fierce determination. Tears brimmed in her eyes as she stared at him waiting to see what he would do.

Trahearne stood there frozen he was not sure of what he should do. He opened and closed his mouth a few times but nothing would come out. A pain radiated in him, he wasn’t sure if it was from her words or from her tears. He jolted when she placed her hand on his chest and gently started to push him backwards. All he could do was allow himself to be pushed back into the tent that had been set up for him.

“Orr has taken much from you Trahearne, I will not let it take any more.” she stated while turning to leave. She stopped at the entrance to the tent and looked at her hound.

“Biscuit, guard,” she commanded pointing at Trahearne. Biscuit barked happily and wagged his tail and took his place near the flaps of the tent. All Trahearne could do was watch her go. He wanted to call out to her, to ask her to stay with him. No words came and he was left there with and unknown feeling.

Tarrarain did not awaken in the cycle of Dusk, but she had always found that it offered her peace in its embrace. While she found her strength at night. Tarrarain perched herself on the wall watching beyond making sure that they were not going to get attacked. She was also watching the sun set. She would never tell anyone but she found Orr strangely beautiful. The way the setting sun shown off of the plant life of the ocean floor. All the colors washed with the orange of the sun and the red sky strangely clear of clouds.

She could not stop the words that came out of her mouth, it was something that she could not help. When ever she became stressed she would start singing. She was more angry at herself for saying the things that she said to Trahearne. Perhaps it is what he needed to hear but it didn’t make it any more easy to say. Her mind began to drift as the sun disappeared under the ocean.

Dear Guild Wars 2 Team,
I want to sincerely thank you for making one of the best mmos out there. The three year mark is fast approaching and I look forward to seeing what you guys have in store for us. About a year and a half ago I brought my mother to the light side stealing her from the World of Warcraft empire. We have played mmos together since I was living in Texas at the time and it was the best way for us to communicate. We love everything about the game, and have a lot of fun running the world boss train. This past Fall we found out that my mother has cervical caner. The game has now become a great way to release stress of the doctor visits and the fear of the cancer spreading to other place. It means a lot to me to see my mom laugh at your April Fools joke, she was laughing so hard that she was crying.

So thank you guys for making such an awesome and my mom and I both look forward to the expansion!

Thank you for the updates! I was just wandering what is wrong with the quest? Like a cinematic trigger that is not triggering?

Thanks again!

I am having the same problem. Is this some how related to the recent update? I noticed that the earliest post is only 8 hours old.
