i wounder if you would still say that if warrior had same hp pool as thief
big hp pool let you take burst dmg easier and keep you alive longer
sure there are many factors deciding if you are tanky or not and how much dmg you can take but hp pool is one of them

i would so gladly help you on acro s/d if you just didn’t bring up warrior, just cuz you “felt” like you have to show the world that you are a complete ignorant and don’t really know the game yet act like you know all, thats the way you ask for help.

i stand by what i said, warriors are easy mode comparing to thief – all the mechanics on thief demand more from a player. Warrior is much more forgiving when it comes to player mistakes

thx for suggestions, i guess i will try again to mess a bit with SA on s/d as fighting multiple opponents without it is quite hard
I will switch sigils for fire/air for more burst dmg and take bow or some pistol combo(most likely bow) for other set to have more variaty and maybe some ranged attacks.

im 100% sure many people will go for venom builds because they can get 4seconds lower cds

Lol, this is so unreal, thief is easily one of the cheesiest, easiest WvW roamer class over warrior, i only play thief in wvw cuz it’s way easier.

So what, instead of timing your dodge for big hits, you prefer spaming dodge all day long? much skill such wow.

and you do know that dagger 5 and sword daze is a legit combo for s/d which involves stealth, right?

you cant just spam dodges and hope that you will somehow survive and if you want to play as thief not going stealth every 1-2 hits to reposition/heal you need to avoid many skills
Sure i use daze, but it is situational, it is not like backstabb in dagger build when you relay on it as main source of dmg, 2second daze wont be a deciding factor when you are not playing burst build.

And what is hard about warrior? You got health, dmg, armor, sustain, mobility… everything with easy access. Warriors have crazy mobility, if they decide midfight that they want to run I can’t do much as a thief – well i can burst all my initiative to maybe catch up to him but good luck after that.

yeah I was running with s/d and 6 in SA before, I could play around 2-4 person groups for a while thanks to that but that was all about hiding in stealth between attacks which i don’t like that much, relaying more on dodges and evades is more fun even though i have to pick my fights more carefully and dies more for sure.

and well with my build im fine with the fact that i may not be able to beat decent condition based builds, even if i change 1-2 things to help me against conditions. So maybe it is better to ignore that completely and focus on who I actually can fight with this build, im fine with the fact that i will not be able to beat everyone
nevertheless I will try puting those 2 points in SA for a while to test how much of a difference it would make

i’ve played many many hours as thief in wvwvw. i tried like every build i can think of (perplexity runes based, trapper rune based, d/d, p/d, d/p… etc) and without a doubt i like s/d the most, it is just really fun to play. Even though every time i take my lvl80 warrior i feel like playing gw2 on easy mode i just feel better when im running with my thief when every fight is a challenge.
I like dodges/evades and i hate stealth mechanism, i feel pretty good with my actual build (i know it is super week vs conditions – switching quick recovery for pain response may help a little) but i will be glad to hear some hints what can i try to make it better.
I sometimes trade power of inertia for vig recovery, and i will most likely switch runes in the near future

They certainly changed it so you can proc both a while back… unsure of last few changes though… may have reverted it.

oh shoe… god knows how many other important changes i have missed… :p

Have something changed with how sigil works or you just wasting them because they all still share one cooldown?

Don’t get me wrong I love S/D and i would really want to see it works… but I could beat most of those players with ANY profession/build. Warrior that uses only rifle? C’mon.

I don’t find 30points in trickery to work that well for s/d, you don’t need condition damage, you get boost to your steal which is nice but you could get much more puting those points somewhere else, maybe not all, some for sure.

s/d will always look nice in use, all that mobility etc, but most of those guys you fought against did nothing.

If someone beat your friend 1v1, and lets you pick him up (in hope of another 1v1) you shoudn’t gank him 2v1. (well another one joined seconds later so even 3v1). If you dont want to 1v1 just walk off.

I’m guessing we all have fun playing wvw (well unless someone is forced to:P) otherwise we woudn’t do that.
Seems like we have have bigger numbers in this matchup and it comes with all the pros and cons. More players – more randoms. The best results you get with smaller better organized group, and it is really awesome how those can sometimes destroy much bigger groups. Some really nice actions from FoW and Vabbi, good job

Now there is no reason to argue over player skill on forum – if blacktide is winning this matchup it doesnt mean that we are most skilled players. If fow/vabbi can put some well organized guild/group and destroy our random zerg lemmings running carelessly and trying to cap everything it is good for them, but it doesn’t mean that vabbi/fow players are more skilled than blacktide. It is just how things works

Now lets continue on doing our things and have fun in wvw. Im sure I will have lots of fun fighting and killing you guys and I’m quite sure aswell I will get killed by one of your organized group because I will run in big group and not pay enough attention

It may look like there is a lot more of us, it is result of last week where we were dominating in lowest tier. I expect many of those people to leave wvwvw when things wont be that easy.
Still I hope that im wrong.

I’ve fought against many servers while going from T1 with blacktide to where it is now, but when it comes to abusing epxloits and bugs i’ve never seen a server using is as much as FoW.
All the time sieges in safe zone, and using bugged zone to fight while having invulnerable buff outside safe zone, and it is not even like that don’t have enough people to make some moves. At least 20 people waiting at safe zone for treb to take down walls/gates. Those who jump off and fight a bit runs to bugged zone where they cannot be killed. Few more days and it is over.

Im not saying you cant, it is just hard to do without organized team, and we were short on supplies aswell.
And the fact that you can fight with exploits doesn’t excuse people using it.

I don’t know much about that WP thing, maybe fighting inside a garrison, without hitting any doors/walls doesn’t trigger “contested” status. The previous event ended, you took too long time fighitng inside and didn’t trigger another contested status. That is the only explanation i see for how people were able to WP back in.
It is not “hacking” because you can’t hack game to unlock contested waypoints afaik.

Sure you can build treb to destroy theirs, however it is not that easy, you cant build it in tower if the person firing theirs treb is smart enough to take it down as soon as they see you building it.

It is better to see how FoW keep on using trebs from safe zone to get into towers. Then they build treb in that tower and go for garrison. When they get pushed back, and lose tower they just treb it again from safe zone. And you come here crying?
If you werent using exploit you even woudnt get near garrison.

2day i met someone nice from RoS on RoS BG We did two events there, we killed some skritts and skritt vet ^^
That was a bit tricky to not hurt eachother with AOEs After that he went one way and I another was fun tho

As a loyal member of BT i still enjoy playing wvwvw.
And it feels good to beat those people runnning with XAOC tags despite being outnumbered:) Sure we don’t stand a chance in scores but there are fights where we can show that BT still have some people left that are willing to take a fight.
I’m often roaming alone around the map, taking supplies camps, dolyaks, vets. Which often ends in 1v1-3 situations. Sure i die sometimes but still i kill a lot more And always got extra smile on my face when i recognize tag of someone who is lying under my feet.

Defending a garrison, jumping alone in a zerg of people just to slow them down a bit, and hold Garrison a bit longer isn’t easy tho:P

how can you complain that thief is overpowered in wvwvw because he is strong in 1v1.
Wvwvw is not about 1v1 fights but about groupfights in which thief is nowhere near being OP.
To be bursted/killed by a thief in wvwvw you need to do several mistakes.}
1. You need to be alone.
2. You dont have correct skills set to be running alone – many class have skills to avoid, block thief attacks.
3. You failed to see him – it is not WoW, thiefs cant run stealth 24/7. That thief that bursted you, most likly noticed you some time ago and already made up a plan, where and how to attack you, he use terrain, walls etc to approach you unnoticed – because that is what thief players do, they run around map looking for opportunities to kill someone. Now imagine the reverse situation, that you see him first, and you attack him first when he is not prepared. Imagine you can set up you best attack before he even realize you are there. Yes you can do that with any class.
4. Squishy, squishy, squishy. Many players ignore defence and go for pure power. If you build that way, and dont get first attack on opponent you gonna have a bad time.

Thieves are far from being OP class for wvwvw.
