So I didn’t realize this but I’m currently running GW2 on a 32 bit client instead of a 64bit client. Could that be causing fps issues?

I’m afraid that I’m not too familiar with those terms (I’m not great with computers)

I did a bit of research, went to my bios and found something called an “uncore” ratio which was set to auto (also found clock ratio set to 34). If I understand correctly, that should only be changed when overclocking right?

Oh really? I figured wow would be pretty cpu intensive with all the players running around especially when you’re running addons like skada or recount. My gpu usage never passes 30-40% in WoW so I figured that was just a cpu bottleneck.

Heres kitten of CPU-Z/GPU-Z while I was in Verdant Brink: http://imgur.com/WSOQ7P0

Edit: Here is some info from the other cpu-z tabs in case they’re needed

Other games run pretty great, battlefield 4 at ultra = 60 + fps, Witcher 3 with some settings ranging form medium to ultra = 60 + fps, WoW (which is also quite CPU intensive can handle 60+ fps with 40 + players unless everyone is stacked up casting a spells, etc).

I do have profiles set up for gw2 in radeon settings, unfortunately removing them didn’t increase my fps.

I’m struggling to push 40 fps in verdant brink on the lowest settings

GPU is definitely in the pci-e 16x slot (i.e the one closest to the cpu/ram).

Temperatures seem to fine for both the cpu (50-60 degrees Celsius during gaming 35-40 while idling) and gpu (also 50-60 (30-35 idling) degrees Celsius).

After doing a bit of research, i still find it strange that people with older / less powerful hardware than mine get better performance

I decided to copy your settings and the location you were standing in and these were my results

high = http://imgur.com/uvcnS7F → 39 fps
low = http://imgur.com/6gFZB9T → 52 fps

I stood there for a while so that the fps would settle. I’m quite confused as to how you’re getting more fps than me :P

G’day, I’m new to guild wars 2 and I’ve been loving it so far. Only thing that I have a problem with is my performance.

I have every setting on low (apart from render sampling which I have set to native) and I seem to achieve 30-50 fps in zones such as Lions arch, Divinity’s Reach and practically every WvW map. During group events or those big WvW battles, I’ll generally sit at 15-20fps and drop below 10 quite often.

  • 47 fps in lions arch (and it’s quite empty, well after peak time). I sit at 30-40 when it’s packed

    What concerns me in this one is that my GPU utilization is quite low (15-40% in most cases). CPU usage is generally never above 80% in GW2 (only rarely does it hit 100%). Can the i7 4770 bottleneck the r9 270x?

Now I don’t have a great computer but it can hold its own in other games. As I understand GW2 is very cpu dependent and isn’t optimized for multi core processors (correct me if I’m wrong). My cores are unparked (Only two show up in the unpark cpu program) and I have my power settings set to high performance when I play.

(I’ll add this because I find this strange. The game is blurry in fullscreen mode regardless of what resolution I set it too. The same thing occurs in World of warcraft in fullscreen mode but not in any other game. Does this indicate any kind of problem?

Thanks in advance
