Let me preface by saying I hate PvP, in any sense or form.
So recently I got a lot of gold off an item and I bought a precusor. This is my first ever so I’m excited to make it. I have over 75% of the Been There, Done That achievement done, but I’ve hit a wall. Some guildies informed me that WvW would be the hardest to map, and by Grenth they were right. I was able to do my severs Borderland just fine, but how in the hell am I supposed to get the PoI and Vistas in the other forts? I’m on Darkhaven, so Rall eats us and Gates of Madness alive.
Really, all I’m asking is for any helpful tips or advice or anything. I don’t know anything about WvW and I really don’t want to deal with it more than I have to.
No idea why, but my currency exchange tab is bugged. Just about everything on it is working as normal, but for some reason the gold for gem/gem for gold buttons are phased out, and even though mousing over still plays the little animation, I can’t click them. This happening to anyone else?
Pics or it didn’t’ happen!
I smile at this
Because it brings me sorrow
Oh, how you mock me
I personally hope those races that you’ve mentioned in your first post never become playable. It’s bad enough we have those filthy animals running amok along with those long eared vermin. They’re too weak, pathetic and unintelligent. They’re guaranteed to dwindle into extinction. There is only one master race and it is Humanity.
personally wonders if this post makes you racist or the king of sarcasm
It’s nice to see someone enjoying themselves once in awhile. I find it ironic that you didn’t even mention the three major races that the mixed majority desires. Tengu, Largos, And Kodan. Personally I’d kill for a Largos.
My mention of races to join is primarily because they’re all part the main story near the end (think that’d be a spoiler if I said how). I can understand why those are the three big ones (hell, there was even an opening trailer for Tengu’s, wasn’t there?), but I feel that having a reason for being part of the story gives more credential to these races. Sure I can see Largos being playable for the water dragon, Kodan’s becoming playable when we go kick Jormag’s frosty butt, and Tengu’s if they get involved with one of the remaining 3 (I see them dealing with Mordremoth since we haven’t seen any indication of it in the current zones and we can pretty much assume Kralk. over in the desert).
First of all, this is not a story, I just wanted a catchy title.
As with many people, I’ve been a Guild Wars fan since Prophecy. Not much during the rest of the GW1 days as I was as stingy little teen that didn’t appreciate video games back then. But GW2 came around, I got into the beta multiple times, I fell in love with Tyria again. Fast forward to launch and my first character was a Charr Engineer because, well, CHARR! They used to be enemy NPCs! I love the NPC races over the player races (why I’m hoping we’ll see Skritt, Hylek, Grawl, Ogre, and Quaggan playable races one day).
Eventually, I start to make a character for each class (because 800 gems was 1g on launch). So I get to the Mesmer class and I knew since I first saw the Sylvari’s that I was going to have one of them as my mesmer; flower power or something like that at the time. So I make a few characters, testing out how I look in game then deleting and doing the same, till I get a character I’m happy with. Average green skin, scarlet red tuff of hair, and with a smiling goofy mask, my mesmer, Rosselin, was born.
Time skip into the future and Rosselin’s LV80 and one of my favorite classes to play. I knew when I first made her I wanted to get Twilight Arbor light armor on her because I’m cheap and it’s already exotic so I don’t have to transmute. I tinker around with the colors once I get the chest/pants and I get a color combination that looks beautiful, but my green/red head just doesn’t fit with it (I think it’s lemon pastel main, humiliation second, and ice rose 3rd). I keep playing with that color scheme but it doesn’t feel right.
So, tonight, I bought a Total Makover Kit (gems for gold), and changed Rosselin. I literally almost broke down and cried. And now that I’m putting my emotions into text, I’m truly crying now. By all means, don’t get me wrong. I’m ecstatic about how she looks now, and couldn’t be happier with how I spent 17g. But it’s a very apparent change from how she used to look, and I’m shocked at how much it effects me to see that change.
So my hats off to you Arena Net. Guild Wars 2 is the MMO to make me actually care about my character, even when I have 7 others as well. My only regret (and now that the realization is setting in, it’s also my greatest) is I didn’t screen cap how she looked before and how she looks now. However, all the time I spent with my mesmer won’t fade away that easily, nor will how she looked. I can say with honesty I will treasure what we’ve been thru and look forward to what adventures lie ahead in Tyria.
You know, it very well could have been guild buffs…. my achievement rating is 47%. So I very well could have been mistaken. I kinda feel embarrassed now…
Thank you community for being smarter then me >.<;
Hero Panel, and I have not used any consumables on any of my characters minus my Ranger (which was the Birthday Booster, so it was at 155%)
I sent in a bug report in-game but I did not feel it was enough. After having gotten my Magic Find up to a respectable 55%, I noticed something odd after finishing the Ogre Wars meta event in Fields of Ruin. My Magic Find % went down a total of 8%. I am now at 47%, and I can say I’m horribly frustrated. A few other people I’ve spoken to have experienced similar effects, so it’s not an isolated incident.
I’m hoping that I can get my Magic Find back to 55% sooner rather then later. Hopefully this isn’t to big of an issue and just a coding error.
To clarify, this is the total shown on the Hero Panel, with no consumables or boosters.

Believe it or not I was going to do this at one point; I had bought 3 slots back when 800 gems was 1g and made all the characters, but as I played and did the same area over and over again, Iost it, deleted 6 of my 8 (none over 10) and went with a mish mash of races. My Warrior and Engineer are still Charr though (plus, my Warrior found a Black Dye at LV8, buck deleting her)
I’m partial to using Blood and Gunmetal though Silver and Steel work as well.
Raptors (really, why aren’t they?)
Marmox (again, since Charr use them)
Skale
Rock Dogs
Griffons
Breeze Riders
Sea Scorpions
Anything that already is a pet in-game really…
For the life of me I can’t seem to figure out what that orange color on their armor is (the metal color I’m thinking is Gunmetal at the moment but I’m not 100% sure yet).
If anyone know I’d be appreciative if they can identify what colors they use in their armor.
Brutalustaka: It feels to long for a name. Usually a Charr’s name is two-three syllabus, and the way I read this I get 5. Maybe tone it down to “Brutala” (Brute-al-ah) with a “the [Blank]”. But as it stands 3/10
Azura Coldpaw – I like the first name but not so much the 2nd. A guardian isn’t really cold-related unless you mean the armor, in which case something more metallic would fit better. Even if it’s for her fur, white fur doesn’t necessarily mean “cold”. Meh, I’m being nit-picky. 6/10
Pyra Firapaw – Nearly perfect. First name is fine, but the “Fira” part is killing it. “Flamepaw” or “Hotpaw” or anything would have been better then Fira. 9/10
Lavenda Rosepaw – Bad first name, okay last name. 5/10. I can see what you were going with, the whole “flower” theme, but Lavenda doesn’t cut it (I honestly read it as “Lavender” at first). It just doesn’t feel organic at all. Rosepaw is fine though since, as I said, it’s clear you’re going for the rose theme.
Now for mine:
Warrior: Reega Shadowfang – Blood Legion and Order of Whispers. Black fur with bright yellow/gold hair. Wears Black colored armor with Ice Lemon trimming. Has a brutal charm to her nature for a “stealthy tin can” as she put sit. Don’t let her caught you with your pants down or you’ll she might just axed why this is “he life for me”?
(NO RELATION TO REEVA <_< I realized that after I made her but I like the name to much and I used a Black Dye on her kitten
Engi: (For when I can rename him) Slaug Steelskin, Iron Legion and Vigil. Brown orange-ish fur with matching hair, using a wide variety of colors for whatever he wears to throw people off. Slaug is a Soldier thru and thru though with a tactical mind and a set of hands for holding guns, grenades, bombs, flamethrowers and whatever the hell else can kill stuff.
