The Light of Hyperion [TLoH] is recruiting all players who are interested in joining

We’re a (sort of) new up and coming guild that’s just starting up and is looking for new members!

Mostly PvE based, but really open to PvP and WvWvW content. We’d like to have people participate in all content of the game.

Home world for those interested in WvWvW is Blackgate

English is our preferred language, but it would be really cool to have bilingual people in our guild

Currently active around Australian Eastern Standard Time, so Oceanic and SEA players are a good mix and match, but would love to accept people from all over the world to keep the guild active at all times.

Our guild has essentially been around since the start of the game, and is made up of a small group of friends. Everyone slowly and eventually stopped playing for a long while, but now we’re all back (most of us anyway)!

My name’s Ken, you can call me Kenny if you’d like (adds more letters and syllables, sure, but y’know whatever floats your boat), and I am this guild’s guild master. My initial goal for this guild was to slowly expand it from being just a small group of friends to a large community of people with similar interests, and that in itself hasn’t change, nor will it ever. I’d like to think that we have quite a lot of fun as the group we are now, but there was always something missing. Something that wasn’t exactly quite right, and after thinking about it – it was probably the fact that we weren’t getting the best we could from the social aspect of this game. If you are viewing this thread to look for a guild to join, then by all means – consider joining us! Help me, help this guild reach its goals and find yourselves new friends in the process.

Now that we have the tear jerking introduction out of the way I’d like to let you guys know a little bit more of what I have in store for this guild.

About Us
To keep this brief, there isn’t one specific aspect of the game that we are currently strongly focused on right now. But I do find that we enjoy the PvE and group content like dungeons, event farming and fractals better than we do with the PvP content. Although that doesn’t rule PvP out completely. Having organised team PvP matches does sound quite fun, and I’d like for us all to be strong enough to participate in WvWvW as a guild eventually. Raid content is also something I look forward to seeing us do as a guild. If we ever do decide on doing WvWvW one crucial piece of information I should give you is that our homeworld is blackgate.

Long-term goal: Putting the whole thing where we’d like to have more people join to the point where we’re capped all the time aside, the one important thing I’d like to see us have is a Guild Hall with all of the important upgrades installed in it.

With that being said, we’re not particularly looking only for players with Heart of Thorns, no. We accept all players regardless of their skill level, character level, age, new or old – everyone and anyone with a vested interest in this guild, really! However in order for us to get the guild hall upgrade we do need to have people with the expansion (or friends that have the expansion as well) to participate in the claiming process. But that’s just something for the future, no need to rush or anything.

Our guild expectations: Are essentially going to be what most people will tell you when you’re looking to join a guild. There are a few things that we value in this guild and those are; respect towards your fellow guild members and other players you might come across and speak to. Equality in all things, loyalty towards this guild and its members, and communication with your fellow guild members and soon to be friends. Nothing more should be said about this because I will trust your judgement and definitions of those qualities. All I ask of you is to be nice and play nice and keep the conflicts to a minimum.

Active timezones: I, along with the other people already in the guild are up and around the Australian Eastern timezone, so we’d probably work best with Oceanic and SEA players. But don’t let that stop you – I’m sure that there’s something we can work with and I would definitely like to see this guild active during all timezones, so I would love to have people from all over world on the NA servers to join us more than anything.

Website: Will contain vital guild information, timetables and events but will not be provided at this time. It is currently a work in progress, TBA.

Voice: As for VOIP communication I will most likely make a discord server for those of you who actually want to communicate by voice. Discord is an excellent piece of software that’s currently in development and is absolutely free! Also can be used on all platforms and can even be use through your web browser.

Current Goal: Recruit at least 30 members by the end of February and release a guild website once there are enough members.

Hiya! I’m the Guild Master of The Light of Hyperion and we are currently recruiting for new members to join our ranks. Our guild began with a small group of friends that love doing a whole bunch of things together and wanted a name for ourselves. Sadly, we haven’t really gotten around to recruiting members until now. Our guild’s currently based in Blackgate, but with the changes that the game has made it doesn’t really matter to us which server you are on., With that being said don’t let it discourage you from joining if you belong to another world (although it would make WvW a little difficult).

Representation:
With Guild Wars’ multi-guild system I understand that if you have friends that are in different guilds and you would like to join them in their guild activities. But it is preferred that you represent our guild some (if not most) of the time as long as you are with us.

Mission Statement: Right now we’re looking at trying to increase our guild’s size in numbers – the more the merrier! We are taking in players of all levels and skills, our main objective is to have more people to play the game with and have fun doing so. Character level or skill level is not a really big deal. We aim to help each other improve in various different ways so that we can grow as a guild.

Rules & Requirements:

• Be friendly, don’t be hostile towards anyone in our guild or in map chat. We try to help each other and represent ourselves the best we can so that people don’t have wrong impressions about our guild
• No spamming in guild chat.
• No begging.
• Have a good sense of humor and thick skin.
• Be able to sing Scatman
• Direct or indirect discrimination towards someone will not be tolerated.
• Please keep in mind that we are definitely aware the people that play this game have lives outside of it too. Always put real life before a video game and we absolutely understand if you are needed elsewhere if or when you happen to go missing for a certain amount of time.
