Will Viper armor set come back to gem store?
The wiki says it is used in the Chef profession, but no recipes exist for it. Under the item stats it states it is “junk” item. I would just sell it to an npc merchant.
I’m not going to post a buch of pics (I’ve seen quite a few great ones in this thread). I would just say in general to look at games like Vindictus, Aion, Blade and Soul for some better inspiration.
Medium needs more waist and thigh length leather and way fewer trench coats. The other two classes of armor need…. I don’t know, it’s hard to sum up – would have to go through each set. (and of course some are fine, but many are just off)
It’s true that no one owns the mobs in the game – but the fact of the matter is this: there IS a train in Queensdale and FGS.
So what is my point you ask – it’s that if you really want to kill champs and not be bothered by the zerg (or just find it annoying) the SMARTER thing to do is go kill champs on other maps where there are no zergs.
Now I am not implying you don’t have the right to stay in QD and farm champs – I’m just saying it’s stupid/ineffiecent to try and farm them in a map where you’re competing with a zerg.
I for one love the train because I can jump in there and get my kitten daily/monthly done quickly and get back to whatever I want to do besides working on those achievements. Also, I sometimes enjoy the social chat aspect of it.
I can’t believe how shallow you all are.
Out of all the problems for the Engineer, which impact that game on a technical standpoint heavily, all of you are more concerned over a backpack than something with meat on it’s bones?
Why is this thread over 500 responses with 40k views but every other thread barely squeaks over 50 of the same problems combined?
If you really think your game has been ruined because you can’t see your “fluffy candy butt” and not because of core game mechanics, I got a line for you.
“You can’t see the forest or the trees”. I’d say “forest for the trees” but that would be giving you all to much credit on critical thinking skills.
Did I mention this entire game is supposed to be based on horizontal/vanity/skins progression? Oh, that’s right – I did.
Quit being so petty complaining about silly matters such as game mechanics and get on board with the things that matter most in THIS game. ;-)
You do know this thread is 11 months old and it is still getting fresh posts? The hobo sacks might fit your characters motif, but not all of ours. Like the user above said, we can want both, and this issue has been wanting change for a very, very long time.
Sorry – sarcasm doesn’t come through a post very well. Of course we can ask for both, that was kind of my point. I hate the hobosack and want to keep this thread alive.
I was just giving the guy a hard time because it seems rediculous to me that someone is bothered about ONE thread dedicated to this issue.

Why, in a game focused on vanity progression, are 95% of the skins so ugly?
The best question, which remains unanswered a year and half later.
Not necessarily ugly, but definitely lacking in some variety. Also some armour proportions could be tweaked.
Edit: some links that might be useful in discussion: http://www.gw2armorgallery.com/ , http://www.gw2armor.com/
I look at those galleries constantly trying to find cool combos to almost no avail. As mentioned above, games like Vindictus and Blade and Soul have SUCH better looking armor – yet this game is supposed to be all about horizontal (vanity/skin) progression. It makes me sad because there are many things I love about the game but I struggle to get attached to my characters when I can hardly stand the sight of them.
I have no problems with the train. It allows me get my dailies done fast so I can get back to whatever I was doing before. I also find it nice to do when I am in that lazy mood and want to play while watching a movie.
I like that there is some game play that isn’t engaging as there is plenty in gw2 that I do find engaging.
I find the train/trolls drama a huge source of laugh-out-loud entertainment.
anyone else hate this temporary content feature as much as i do?
+1 – I missed the gas mask and grenth hood events because of work and I wanted both of those pretty bad. I wish the wings were dyable too.
I am hoping that those rewards come back around again some day or would even buy them if they popped up in the gem store.
In a game that is supposed to be about skins and vanity progression they should have at least implemented a toggle on/off by now.
Have you ever seen a human female in T3 or dualist with a stupid kitten hobosack on her back? Completely ruins the look of those sets.
Toggle on/off please – Easy fix!
I never played gw1 but after looking at the armor sets from that game it makes me sad. I very much hope we get some of those sets here eventually.
I would be happy at this point if they just cut most of the trenchcoats down to hip/waist level for medium sets and reworked some of the light sets to be knee/mid-thigh length (talking about female sets). Oh and the female feathered set below the waist is one of the dumbest and unflattering designs I have ever seen.
Also, have you ever seen a human female engineer in T3 or dualist with her hobosack up? so bad….

Are you serious about your question?
It’s easy enough, the 5% that does look good are in the store but you have to spill the beans to get them.
Yes, I am quite serious and I am also aware that “ugly” is totally subjective, but come on. IMO, most of the armor in this game just isn’t appealing on the character. As far as the gem store sets, most of those are bad too.
I have played many mmo’s, and most of them had more appealing armor (not neccessarily skimpy) than this game, it really bums me out.

The most memorable name I have seen was an Asura – Moist **eef
runner up – human thief – Smash N Grab
Spokane here – Isle of Janthir server
Wow man, sorry to hear you got banned for something so insignificant as that. ps.. I thought this game came with a language filter.
Pay2Win has a very well known and agreed upon definition in the MMO community and GW2 doesn’t fit the criteria, period.
As stated in other threads, there are some serious problems in this game atm (ones that make me want to not play anymore) but p2w isn’t one of them.
Sorry but it’s just not, any way you look at it (by the current widely understood and agreed p2w definition).
This game has problems for sure, but pay2win isn’t one of them. I think the OP needs some perspective. The first mmorpg I played, after getting severely burned out on a hardcore mmorts, was p2w. This game had all of it’s elite armors, gems, and pets ONLY in the cash shop. The player could not obtain these items any possible way in-game save for buying from another player who purchased the item in said cash shop.
Also, to grind to max level would take a player in decent gear around 2 years but in the cash shop were sand bags that could be easily killed to obtain massive exp and get a player to max level in a day. That my friends is what they p2w. =)
