While I understand that the Removal of White Swords will be tested, I would have suggested more proactive methods to get players to Defend. We have discussed this repeatedly in our daily map runs, both while we were on TC and helping out on other servers. There needs to be some sort of reward for watching a keep/ tower/ camp. The only rewards, really, are for the take. An NPC to speak with at each gate, yadda yadda, whatever, that starts a timer, to show how long someone did sentry. A rotation path, like walking yaks, but talk to sentries at each sentry post, etc. Credit for building X number of AC’s. X number Balli’s, Gate trebs, etc, whatever…something. I love Defense…always have (okay, I like going on offensive too), but I’d Defend all day if there were not stumbling blocks in place for the players.

One of the few Tools the Defensive team has in their toolbox would be the White Swords… You’d need a Sentry at every collapsible wall and door in the Keeps. Think of the points of Ingress for Garry, Hills & Bay, thus leaving the towers as cannon fodder—southern two can be cannon fodder anyway, np. During the Day (SEA through EU times, there may not be that many players on the maps! Number crunch, do the math. Supply rules your WvW world and the camps are a loss, w/o white swords, so upgrading will be abysmal. The whole basis of a strong defense: place sentries in the major keeps and towers, respond to swords as needed, upgrade, siege, rinse, repeat.

Without the swords, will this not become EoTM? Infrastructure flipping repeatedly and no one upgrading? As an aside, I think EoTM was laid out brilliantly, had it not been turned into a huge karma train.

What a stellar idea!

I love running w/ Militia (the ones you call “pugs”) & mixed guilds. Always have…I think it embodies the heart of an MMO and meeting new players. I do have my guild as the core of my group, however. That said, I have seen some folks pull off pugmanding, others…so-so. I can’t believe your voice is that bad, but I have to agree with those that say it is largely personality and, perhaps, a heavy focus on attitude.

I was listening to a new commander recently, which had asked for assistance. I sent them PM’s on occasion, as they kept saying/ asking, “Can we take North camp next…umm, can we have someone go check Garry?” Can, can?" I explained all they needed to do, in order to take control was rephrase; “I need 3 volunteers to x up for North camp now, please…” Etc. Polite, friendly, positive: get the job done. They were unsure, asking…not taking the lead.

I’d not experienced skill lag in a very long time—admittedly I had taken a break—but it suddenly struck horribly starting around the time of reset this week and over the weekend. Others mentioned it in map, so I was not the only one hit.

That in the picture is me and before you go and complain on the forums becuase something happened which shouldnt of how about you address the problem by talking to the person about it, i wasnt even aware you could even do this ‘glitch’ in, i was fighting a necro outside and he zoned in mid way through my HS, i was as surprised as you when i ended up inside your tower. So much so i died instantly, i was ressed and instead of go around attacking everyone i made my way upstiars and ran over the wall, what you see there is me healing and running to save my own skin. after that happen i questioned people near mean who saw it at the time and they informed me its possible. So Apologies on my behalf, didnt intend to.

That specific tower is famous (or rather, infamous) for this. I’ve ported into that tower unintentionally using guardian sword 2 myself. It’s been like that for months now.

We can totally forgive the glitching-in, I have seen someone do that in the past (they just stood aside so everyone knew it was not intended) but I did not realize what he was saying had happened, until I saw the pic.

What I CAN’T forgive, is that the guy taking the screenie caught me whining about having the Flu, while leading the push to retake the Garrison

I do remember you running with us and have now sent you a message in-game, as well. I was not aware of the issue, until after the fact, I was fighting, at the time. I did try to msg you thereafter. That said, the point of TS, is to help us work as a team and each server has its own rules. Hopefully, we can get this worked out.

Good luck in the Lotto!! We haven’t been hitting you in the off hours, however…my crew was on today over coffee, which is our norm. That said, we do try to molest both DR and NSP equally.

As an aside: Props to the DR player that came out to meet us and provided fireworks, when we “dropped off” our golems at their North camp and my team bowed. It was done in good fun. We were headed to another map. Well done, sir.

Three of us from Ash and wurm guild upgraded vale, south and Briar in nsp earlier. They kept focusing on briar while kitty took garrison and hills. 5 hours later they are still pushing Briar ;x

Hope they came to help you We had a great run on NSP and even took a turn in DR for a bit, as well. I just had to step out for some RL things.
