I don’t think thief is getting rifle for a couple reasons.
Number 1: In the live stream for the reaper they said they wanted to keep professions like mesmer and thief mobile.
This is the reason I don’t think the thief will become a sniper. Being a sniper implies that you are very immobile, you would have a lot of abilities that would make you stand in the same position.
Number 2: Let’s say thief get a rifle, but are not snipers. The issue with this is that the thief is supposed to rely on stealth. Rifles are generally very loud, the point of the thief is to be silent and hidden, the rifle would go against this very idea. I guess you could argue that the thief already can use pistols which could be loud as well.
In the end it’s up to arenanet what they think the thief should be about. This is more of a list of the reasons why I think they will not get a rifle. However I think it is very likely that they will.

The names do not matter to me as much as the Lion Statue question.
I don’t like the name of Festival Plaza that much, but I would love to see a completely new area. It could be really cool.
I don’t really like the lion statue either. It reminds me of those old merry go rounds lol. I think it would look way better if the whole statue was gold/bronze or stone. You know just one material.

I totally agree, I only play one character because I hate keybinding for other professions.
On my thief my number 1 is steal and my 2 is weapon swap. If I want to play an ele ideally I would change the elements to 1, 2, 3 and 4, since they don’t have weapon swap.
In wow every one of my characters would have very different keybinding setups, and that just doesn’t work in gw2 and it is too tedious for me to re keybind everything every time I want to play another character.
Thanks for the reply!
I think it would be really nice to have. I’m not really sure if it is a common thing in mmos to have character specific keybindings. They did have it in wow, but that’s all I know of.
I just recently noticed there wasn’t a way to do it though, because I just decided to level up a 2nd profession.
The Terracotta ascended weapons are orange/black. I really like the looks of those ones.

Does anyone know if there are plans to implement character specific keybinding? Is there some way to already do that? I couldn’t find a way to do it in the options, but I may have missed it.
I hope there is/ will be a way to do this. The only thing stopping me from playing certain professions is the fact that I would have to completely change my mains keybindings in order to play certain professions.
I was wondering the same thing, I just checked and it’s 2000 gems.
1. Will there be more than one specialization per profession?
2. Will Revenants have their own starting zone?
3. Will a specialization change the gameplay for your profession completely or are you basically adding on new abilities?
I didn’t realise they were gone. I just created a human female and I realised your character doesn’t look towards your targets either like other characters.
The charr footprints is really weird too lol. I hope they get fixed soon.
Why is it that people who criticize assume they’re right while people who like stuff are wrong? Why isn’t it possible that someone can like a game without being a white knight?
The idea of play how you want has been taken so far out of it’s original context, it’s lost all it’s meaning. Anet was pretty clear on what they meant.
In most games, you level by going quest hub to quest hub and that’s pretty much what you do, until you get to a high enough level to go to the next quest hub, afterwhich you do dungeons then you raid. That’s the PvE experience of most themepark MMOs.
Anet wanted to be different, and this game is different. You can jump into WvW. You can level in Edge of the Mists. You can now level in PvP. You can craft. You can do a bunch of everything. You can never leave Queensdale if you like and still make max level. Hell someone leveled to max in the tutorial.
That’s what Anet meant and it continues to be true to this day.
I think you missed the point. One step forward two steps back.
I didn’t miss the point. Other people in the thread are commenting on play how you want, and I wanted to stop that.
The one step forward two back thing is not fact, it’s opinion. Everyone is entitled to believe what they want.
I completely agree, I don’t see anything wrong with the changes OP brought up.
IMO the changes were for the better. It’s like we have megaservers and people complain that everyone in bunched together or things are too easy, but at the same time if we don’t have megaservers people will complain that the game is too empty.
The only point I can agree with is the Exploration thing at the early levels. However there is a counter argument for everything. When we didn’t have the arrows we had some new players complaining that they were confused on what to do in the beginning of the game.
The great thing about the arrows is that they don’t require you to do anything, you can even turn them off.

I would definitely buy one of the hoodies if it was brought back.
I just tried this with D/P and it works very nicely. Thanks for this post! I’m glad I have found I build I enjoy since the patch lol.
My damage dropped a ton, it doesn’t have to do with ferocity though. It was because of the Runes of Lyssa nerf. Time to find a new build
I was running D/P btw

5/10
It wasn’t very amazing, BUT I do have a lot of optimism for it in general. I think it is just taking a while for arenanet to get it just right.
I didn’t care for most updates, the holidays were good. My favorite update was Bazaar of the Four Winds. I would like to see more story and less zerg stuff.

Hey thanks for the reply! This does help, I’m actually considering trying out another spec. Would you suggest zerker/valk for most builds?
What songs did you use in your video?

I probably should have asked this in one of stickied threads, but I couldn’t delete my post. Basically I was curious which stats are best for a D/P roaming thief. I wanted to do more small scale pvp. My biggest problem is I am used to spvp where there aren’t really any stats. Also does gear boost your characters much? For instance will a player in ascended be much better than one in exotics?
A Cantha expansion would be amazing for Guild Wars 2. There could be so much done with it and adding a Tengu race would fit so much more with cantha being around.
I understand how a culture could be upset about the mixing of different cultures but it is a fantasy game. Even Kryta has a mixture of European and Spanish architecture. I think this adds a lot of flavor to the game.
I don’t expect it to be the first or even second expansion but if Cantha was to never return to Guild Wars 2 I would be upset.
