More likely your gpu is crying for power put your system is being overloaded due to heat.

Reading between the lines it’s not the HoT expansion that is the problem.

Looks like the core game was flagged due to conflicting account info when the HoT key was appended. If he’s not the original account owner he should tell them.

It’s a shame that members of guilds can’t be trusted without there being a ‘tier’ of trust, which usually ends up that the non-privileged can’t withdraw anything useful from the guild bank.
I’m not one of them btw, i always donate stuff to the guild bank that gets used but the issue i am highlighting is far more fundamental.

No-one crafts for other players, food buffs are rarely shared, and at the risk of sounding cliche, this is the only mmo i’ve played where crafting is solely a self-centered indulgence.

I crafted a few 18 slot bags for a few new players in my guild and got branded as ‘a bit mad’.

I’m not stupid and i know the system can work but am at a loss why it just doesn’t ?
Surely there’s a bit of philanthropy and good-nature bandied about when it comes to gear. I just don’t seem to see it, it’s like all for one and every man for himself

If I never saw another game again with the trinity, it would be too soon. Just imagine how much fun Lord of the Rings would have been if all foes only attacked Boromir, while Gandalf stayed back and healed him and the hobbits, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli all dealt damage in relative safety.
You may believe, truly believe, that the trinity makes for a good game. But it’s contrived to the point where it removes everything that makes role-playing games great.

I don’t usually reply on general discussion forums because I don’t have time reading through 500 pages, but your reply is so totally wrong. It clearly shows that you have not played any serious MMO in it’s heyday if you think that healing the tank is the only tactic needed.

Maybe you have the impression that MMOs were always like how WoW or LOTRO is today, where they made everything so facerolling easy, all you need is a tank to run through pull the whole instance and stand in a corner AoE everything down…

Trinity, or better, roles is what makes a role playing game great. In serious MMOs for lets say a 12 man raid, you needed 1 tank, 1 off tank, 1 healer for the group, 1 healer for just the tanks, 2 support classes (1 buffer 1 debuffer), 2 ranged dps and 4 melee dps. Everyone of course needs to know exactly what he’s doing or the whole group will wipe because of 1 person. This is what makes a game great. It gives you the actual satisfaction that you acomplished something, and not just facerolled another instance.

What we have at the moment on GW2 is not actual content. 99% of the instances are like: Skip 80% of the mobs, and the ones that can’t be skipped, you pull to a corner and AoE them down. It requires zero skill, zero effort and zero team co-ordination.

Atm GW2 is basically a game that requires no tactic or thinking, and all you have to do is just barely know the current meta. If you do know it, you can faceroll every single instance or encounter while being semi-afk playing with 1 hand. If you want this to continue because you’re too lazy actually playing a challenging game, that’s fine, but please don’t say trinity is what makes a role playing boring…

Yeah, pretty much. Although i guess the premise at the time was that if you wanted trinity and prestige from your peers/ played class, you would play wildstar.
Even lotro seriously dumbed down the skills available on all classes a good while ago, basically because it’s easier to program instances without worrying about a multitude of skill/trait buffs/hps/dps ect.

Trinity is ok and there are plenty of mmo’s that support it. Gw2 doesn’t and even a little side shift by anet to make support more viable is welcome but people need to die in WvW and when you run cleric guardian you are just creating dissonance.
you think you’re making that difference when really the meta is there for a reason.

I read your post earlier today and thought about the whole reputable seller thing a bit hypocritical.

If you live in the u.k, ultimate is £79.99. If you live in the Usa ultimate is $99.99, which converts to £65.50 and it’s a global key.

It’s no wonder people will shop about when the most expensive place on the planet to buy the expansion is in the u.k

EU has to pay VAT on digital purchases, USA does not, so we pay 20~25% more, yes.

You can get around this by asking a trusted USA friend to purchase a key for you, and paypaling the funds to them, though.

Yes this is true. I’m not griping about the price U.s>U.k because this has always existed, just the disparity between the Uk and the rest of europe.

Yeah, it was a lot simpler when the law was that the Vat was applied in the country from which the product was sold. Now since January it applies in the country that the purchase was made and it’s an absolute shambles.

Even key sellers like g2a ask you at checkout now which country you are from and apply the Vat rate accordingly. Or you can just click the ‘i am not from the eu’ button and get it Vat free. It just seems to have been a dummy spitting excersise at Apple (luxembourg), leaving the rest of the digital media world in a kind of unregulated limbo

It’s nothing to do with VAT otherwise the game would be more expensive in places like Sweden or Hungary for example. The Vat rate in Sweden is 5% higher than that in the Uk, yet the game (base) is £3 more expensive in the uk.

Price in US $99.95. Lets call it $100 for ultimate as an example

$100=£64…. Game is £80 in uk. Difference to U.s price= €22.5
$100=€90…. Game is €100 anywhere in eu. Difference to U.s price= €10

I think it’s great that you have made the game the same price accross the eu member states, regardless of the vat rates pertaining to the particular country.

But i wondered why the uk version is £34.99 anywhere else in the eu it is €44.99. Ok so it’s only like £3 difference but it’s upwardly scaling through the more expensive versions.

Ultimate edition is €13 more expensive in uk for example.

I did a clean install and it has disapeared.. shame i had to do this but relieved it wasn’t a hardware issue. It only started after i installed my ssd and i so wanted it not to be that.

Just can’t seem to get rid of the c0000005 error. returning to the game after a few months, worked fine before.

So all by drivers have been uninstalled and installed again
Memtest ran, no errors
Game uninstalled/installed. resides in c: Gfx setting changed to min, no joy
No joy when i ran game underclocked on gfx/cpu or defaults on all
No overlays running, only spotify helper which i disabled
No significant usb devices just mouse, keyboard.

System: i5-750 processor (1156)
4 gig ripjaw xmp (1600)
Win 8 pro (up to date)
7950 sapphire gfx
samsung 840 pro ssd

I just don’t know where to go from here, i feel that even a complete wipe will not cure this and i really don’t want to do that anyway. Thx in advance
