What bugs me is that they see we are upset and do not even respond. Any answer would be appreciated – from “Quit qq and ltp” to “We are looking into it”…
I fail to see how this is an improvement:
Skill set before: Combofield → Finisher → Finisher
Skill set after: Finisher → Finisher → Combofield
The old skill order war much more intuitive than the new one. First a filed then a finisher. Now you have to move backwards. Thus I really do not understand their comment.
Leap does not function half of the time, erratically placing you above your target or wherever. And in those instances the blind is not applied. So maybe they should start fixing the bugs instead of continuously nerfing us towards less damage and more buff-bot state…
As to the skill order: sure, in a couple of days or weeks I will have adapted. But why create discomfort needlessly? Just not understandable. Only to have the cds in proper order? Not good enough for me!
Despite the condescending tone of the person two slots above me towards those of us that do feel bad about the changes and at least want some more explanation on the why and where of the changes, I have to add that many of the discussions you see here are not about the retaliation aspect of the change. You may also note that in my whole post above I have not once used the word retaliation.
Thanks for stating the obvious. Thanks for making your opinion public. And I would thank you even more if your opinion would be an informed one, taking the aspects discussed in these forums into consideration.
You will always have those that will say “get a grip” just because they gloat, don’t care or are just not affected (ie not using the weapon). Nothing new.
The good aspects of the changes:
- shorter cd of leap (by 25%), which is, btw, broken and does not function consistently
Negative:
- uncomfortable (and yes, I will probably adapt if they do not change the skill order back, but they make the game for US PLAYERS, so ceating disconfort quite needlessly is just not understandable or acceptable
- 100% increase of Symbol CD
- big loss of dps (we do not have a viable ranged weapon with decent damage, now our primary ae damage weapon is also quite meh)
- loss of game enjoyability while using gs due to a more passive ae weapon setup (overall cds were increased, so auto-attack must be used more often)
- loss of survivability due to less condition removal and combos
And those are just of the top of my head, if I would think about it a few more minutes then I would probably come up with some more…. besides the fact that they should maybe decide where they want to go with the guardian. This would be nice to know as by consistently nerfing the class (and guardian has received more nerfs than any other class pre and post launch) at least my frustration level rises!
For the low hit chance of both the ae and the orb the damage is way too low imho. I might be right if you had 100% chance to hit (direct attack rather than orb), but just maybe…
Don’t worry guys, once they have nerfed us into the ground and made us non-viable, maybe we get buffed again. Until then, who knows…
Has anyone from Anet commented on anything we have written so far?
That is always very educated to say: stop whining and roll another class.
The fact that you are maybe not attached to your class should not delude you to think that it is the same for others. I usually play one class per game and no twinks. Thus I care about the things that happens to that class.
And about the staff…. Sure in lower events that is viable. In higher events there is often time delay until the damage is actually applied. often in events where there are a lot of players I attack with the staff three or four times before any damage is applied. In contrast, GS damage seems to be immediate and much more responsive. Also, GS damage is far higher on any single mob. With staff in high populated events I do not get enough damage to even get exp for the mobs, let alone loot.
Change back the skill order at least… At least give us that if you cannot stop changing and nerfing the class in general. Lets see… no good ranged weapon, nerf to our best ae weapon (especially bad for events when you can hardly get any loot anyways as the ae options of other classes were better anyways,…) – why did I choose to play this class again? It gets harder to remember…
Pretty bad nerf but what angered me even more than nerfing the weapon (and from my experience the GS was the only weapon even remotely able to deal enough ae damage to get loot in events) is the remapping of the skills.
Sure, I see that they are mapped according to recharge duration, but nonetheless the new setup feels extremely awkward! Please reset this to the old setup, regardless of recharge duration!
Moreover, some people actually like their role, be it glass cannon or support build or something in between.
My point is simply that whatever you chose, you should get rewarded equally for your contribution to the group effort. This is just not the case atm.
If Anet only wants glass cannons in WvW who are competing for most damage and thus trophies then Guild Wars 2 will become a very one-dimensional game. And right now – correct me if I am wrong – drops solely depend on how much damage you do to a target…
Well, I do not mind my not being able to kill anything quickly. However, with a support spec I find it incredibly difficult to get any trophies to buy better armor or weapons in WvW. Buffing and healing allies is just not rewarded. Even if you activate virtue of justice, the damage that others do with the buff they receive does not count for you but for them.
So all in all I find supportive guardian in WvW very lackluster at the moment. Good for your team: yes. Rewarding for you: no!
