Hello Guild Wars 2 forum users, I am an old guy who has been around for quite a while and worked with computers a lot. When I started playing this game it was truly exiting and I had loads of fun learning about the game and leveling my characters. However after a time I noticed some things that are becoming an increasing irritation to my gaming experience, such as: invisible walls, camera zoom reset, loot counter on tagged mobs, lag issues that effect game-play and of course last be not least the disconnection-Anet-demon that always steps up when one of your characters is nearly done with a story quest or any other event that requires you to be online to receive the reward from the long time spent reaping it.

Anyone else got to thinking that this isn’t as wonderful as it used to be?

Yeah my joy was short lived after experiencing a server that was functioning for about 2 hours however I am now just as unable to play the game anymore as everyone else.
May I suggest checking the structure of the “MegaServer” system since this usually happens when transitioning from one place to another or when trying to login.
I would by very grateful for a message from the staff of AreaNet on the progress of this extremely unfortunate situation.

I agree that the servers seem to have been fixed for the time being. Good job ANET!

STILL having the same issue as the rest of these posts. Unable to login to the actual game while the character screen loads with no problems at all.

WvW abilities

I know this has been posted once about 11 months ago however the problem wasn’t really discussed, so in all fairness I want to ask once again if there are any plans for the possibility to reset the WvW abilities as it is now with everything else in this game?

Please keep this constructive instead of making pointless comments.

Champion loot in WvW

carpedemon, to clarify the point I am trying to make it has nothing to do with level because all of my characters are low levels and all of them have suffered because of the new patch and its effect on the loot system in WvW from the Champions. You see before the patch as I said the drops were given 4/5 times and now we only receive drops from the Champions 1/5 times despite the amount of damage we deal or how long we are involved in the combat. Before the patch it was enough to hit the Champion twice and even if you were defeated you still got loot.
Now after testing it twice I believe the size of the train you are in matters as I have found that being part of a train of no more than around 40 gives you drops more often and my question to the staff is how exactly does the system work out loot in WvW with the new patch?

Champion loot in WvW

Hello, I did search the forum and online before posting this but I cannot find any mentioning of this possible bug.

Before the new patch the loot you would get from Champions was only missed out on every 1/5 times, however after the new patch it has changed to an astonishing 4/5 times that you miss out on the loot despite attacking the Champion and not being defeated in the combat.

I would very much like to know if this is only a fluke that it happened to both my party members exactly the same as it did for me today?

Is anyone else having the same problem?

If so it really is a bug that should be fixed, thank you staff in advance and for all your hard work sorting out the other problems.

LFG Dungeons

Now I took the time to make a significant search on the web and in here before posting this just to make sure that I got it right.
I have found posts over 6 months old which have been answered by ArenaNet and they were going to look into this ongoing problem. However since I just read a couple of similar posts posted no more than 3 days ago I feel it must be brought to the attention of the staff once again.
When inside a dungeon there is no “dungeon leader” according to ArenaNet, so there is no way to prevent the party dissolving when someone leaves or disconnects and another player is needed to fill the empty space, which leads me to the problem:

LFG dungeon merging parties is still very bugged indeed.

I had started a party (through the LFG tool) for a story mode Ascalonian Catacombs (AC) and after the first boss one from our party left/disconnected, after waiting for 2 minutes for the person to come back we decided to votekick so we could continue with another player. As soon as the votes were in we all got kicked out of the dungeon. So we tried one more time, this time two players disappeared and one left the party without any problems and someone else initiated a votekick and before I could warn them the player was kicked but nothing bad happened. We even got two new players and continued foward until at the third boss someone else left/disconnected and we thought why not try the votekick and get someone else since it worked so nicely before, but alas we all got booted out from the dungeon just like the first time.

I would very much like to know why it is this issue has gone for so long unnoticed or is this just a bug that apparently only rears its ugly head once every second time you try to use the LFG tool or use the votekick function while inside a dungeon?

Game Updates: Guild World Events, Megaservers, WvW

1. Megaserver system, it does nothing for the players who actually want to play on low population servers to get acquainted with the game and not have other players ridiculing them for not knowing the game yet. Also the language barrier is a mega setback as it will lead to problems in-game as players will have a harder time team-working as the prerequisite for team-working is communication.
1a. Megaserver solution, increasing populations on any given map to overcome obstacles and events is great but the easiest way to implement the megaserver system would be to make it language specific especially here in Europe. Instead of world selection you have a language selection. For players who prefer low population servers the megaserver system could be implemented as a channel function and list the number of players on any given map so the players can freely choose whether they want a high population channel or low population channel leading to any specific map.

Game Updates: Traits

1. New trait system, too simple and without any real options for customizing your character to your liking, leading to everyone using the same trait builds which was one of biggest downfalls in other games like this one.

1a. Solution to the new trait system, just bring back the old one where there were a lot more options and you could personalize your characters (by the way the old system was not over powered because it was available to all professions, if OP in comparison to NPCs or monsters it is extremely easily fixed in the attribute database).

Reasons you don't like the new patch.

The Lost Scandinavians [lost]

in Looking for...

Posted by: loboram.4096

loboram.4096

This is our newly started guild (on the Vabbi server) of mainly scandinavians but since we are a VERY casual and player friendly guild (playing whenever we want to instead of grinding and pressing our members to be more active), we accept anybody regardless of any human characteristics they may or may not have.

The only requirement is language skills in the form of knowing ENGLISH as it seems to be the most universal form of communication, however Danish or Swedish or Norwegian can be used as well. Without a good understanding of any of these languages we simply cannot communicate well enough to accept you into our guild.

The guild leader is loboram.4096, to apply to the guild just write to him and you shall receive an answer (spammers will be reported).

We are the lost, the ones who couldn’t find their way, but in the end found each other.
