(Make Powerful Aura baseline for starters.) :O
At least for me, with the new specialization patch, all professions became more exciting and I become eager to play around with builds. But the ele has not done back to it’s roots at all…
I felt that they were going back to the roots of GW1 and with the ele, it fell flat.
I am mainly speaking about them COMPLETELY buffing fire and no other attunements.
Water needs some love, it needs versatility besides the healing traits. Water used to be about slowing/blinding/knock down. <3
-Geyser (a deadly spout of water) should blind and deal damage. ^_^
-Frozen Ground should DoT for a small amount OR a chance to knock down ^.^Y
-Water Trident should knock down again. (enough of this healing nonsense) >.<
-Cone of Cold should ALSO be healing yourself while it’s being cast , _ ,
Air should be about spike damage. Just please go back to the roots. I love this game and I miss playing ele.
Try that : http://pandateemo.github.io/YoloMouse/
It was created for Diablo III which has kind of the same issues, but a little less than GW2.
I really don’t like the idea of using third party add ons.
But I REALLY appreciate you trying to help.
I think this is already possible somehow? I knew i saw phantaram do it on stream changing the cursor to different icons
It’s not possible at all.
Unless someone did it on their stream but only for their stream. But in-game, it’s not an option.
I have had many many many times where either in PvP or WvW, lost my mouse in all the everything and aimed a spell wrong.
There should be an option to change the cursor color to avoid these awful situations!
Please no. In addition to making fighting players in PvP/WvW even less intuitive to get into than it is already (multiple different ways to show the exact same thing as well as having to learn which effect is a does-something-on-dodge trait that might actually matter, and which is just useless fluff), the last thing this game needs in general is more effects. Especially on a mundane thing like dodging.
It’s actually ANet’s intention for you to pay attention to effects such as that. Their whole gameplay style is based on not looking at UI, but instead, the players/mobs around you. So it’s actually reinforcing that very principle.
Sure.
Also, at least one class would keep the old dodge roll. I’d say Ranger (looks more like an agility thing) Warior could just do a plain dash like they’re plowing though things. Engie could do a short rocket jump.
You also forgot revenant. Probably some mists energy surge or something.
Whoops, I forgot the Revenant. :d
Something with their spell effects to symbolize the mist stuff.
I don’t know if this has been brought up before, but I feel that this should have been implemented into the game a long time ago.
The Thief has one, so all other profession should too.
Elementalist: could vary between different attunements
Necro: The locust swarm effect
Guardian: The rippling aura from The Flameseeker Prophecies
Mesmer: Blurred frenzy effect
Warrior, Engi, and Ranger….? I don’t know what to do.
This trait DOES NOT give the skill recharge reduction that it says in the trait.
Please fix this.

Totally reviving this thread. This really ought to be implemented. I know it won’t be tomorrow, but I still wanted to voice my opinion. It seems I am not the only person REALLY interested in those shoulders.
So that’s good to know. ^^
Please make this available through crafting, at least.
You are doing it wrong. Unless you are playing against top competition, ele is viable. The problem is people are stuck trying to make the old approach work in the new meta.
The sustain ele is not viable in the current meta, so you need to shift accordingly. You cannot sustain through the large amounts of condis and aoe being thrown out anymore and also expect to kill anyone.
A well thought out heavy burst build, when played properly, is very viable. It plays similarly to a burst thief with a different flavor. There are only a couple builds that can shut it down, but it can counter many of the currently popular ones.
Well, I would very much like to see this build that you are talking about because I must be a fool to want to build defenses on the squishiest profession in the game. -.- (Not irritated with you, just irritated with this profession)
And not in a good way. When GW2 launched, the elementalist was a huge contender with damage and survivability (considering their low health pool). And now…. holy crap… I have swapped builds three times. All three times building more toughness and healing power to compensate their low defenses and did no damage and still was mauled all over in several rounds.
I had missed a lot of the patch notes because I was busy, but I have NO idea what went wrong with the Elementalist… They are a crap profession to pvp with and I am just force to PvP with a ‘flavor of the month’ profession to enjoy this aspect of the game. I am very disappointed and really hope you see the dilemma in this.
Please fix this once-great class. Give them the attention they deserve and please give better traits (I know it’s being worked on) because the traits for them now are so jumbled and some are so utterly useless. -.-
Mage profession….not so mage-like at all. It’s more like a paper doll profession with pebbles for a weapon.
I was wondering why the voiceovers from the profession videos never made it into live. I actually would love to hear my Elementalist who just killed a skale with an electric attack say, “I’m so stunning.” I think is cheesy but it’s so cute though. I love hearing them, but it’s sad that they aren’t in the game.
Do you plan on making those come back? Or… if not, why were they removed to begin with?
Well, there is Serrated Stones and Burning Precision which help with the upkeep of those conditions. I think you really have to think a bit harder to realize that applying bleed it a lot easier than you are thinking.
They really ought to make a Trait that causes Healing Rain to do damage or cause vulnerability and geyser maybe blind or cause damage. Because let’s be honest… a geyser is a very dangerous spout of steam but in Guild Wars 2… it’s a sprinkle of water. lol
Honestly, I’m sure if you went with the Rampager’s and you focus on swapping and using skills on cooldown, you may see a lot of condition damage. Burning isn’t the only condition that is reliable. It’s the only reliable condition when in Fire Attunement. You can cause quite a bit of bleeding in Earth Attunement and if you are swapping, you can do both burning and bleeding. :]
I agree a little. I have a Blade and Revolver and even though the Revolver’s effects instantly appears it takes a few seconds for the Blade to be completely covered. :I
Well, the problem that I have is the Shard is fully covered and the Branch has a silly aura at the top and not generally glowing everywhere else.

I am wondering if anyone agrees or disagrees with this post. :/
First of all, I would like to thank you for having icy weapons to begin with. But, I really want to make the suggestion to add a more ‘frosted’ effect on some of the corrupted weapons that lack it. I own the Corrupted Shard and the Corrupted Branch and in comparison to each other, the Shard gives off a very ‘icy’ feel because it emits the bluish aura. Whereas, the Branch doesn’t and it only emits a tiny aura on the top.
I think considering it’s an icy weapon set (not including the Kodan set) that has an effect on some of the weapons but not all, I think it would look more uniform and identifiable if they all emitted the bluish aura that the Shard (and some of the other weapons) have.
I hope that this is possible! Thank you so much! <3
When trying to test out the damage potential for the spirit weapon, the sword does not do anything when the skill is activated. I’ve tried countless times and even with the trait “Eternal Spirit”, the sword still does nothing.
Thank you.
