'Come... to mourn losses you’ve suffered'

Well, I personally felt that one of the stronger points in the storyline was the branching arch where the Pale Tree asks you what your worst fear was. I think all story plots and character developments were very engaging (the mesmer plot twist, the hunt for the orb and Apatia’s subsequent demise, the loss of Tonn…). My money is on Apatia’s story. I genuinely felt sad ending her…

Hi Guys!

I decided to switch appearances after changing my build (from front-liner to mid/backliner) and I figured it would be nice to also change appearances to reflect this.

So I did away with the battle-mage, armored-look and went for a more ‘caster’ type look while still taking to consideration the aesthetic that suits the charr best.

Here we go!

Disable pet change

This is also a pet peeve (pun intended) for me since it ruins immersion (where is the other pet staying while the other is out?).

Somewhat inclined with the single pet option but not yet convinced with the proposed trade-off. What about a dodge option with the pet having their own stamina?

[POLL] Least useful skill type?

I have not seen conjures from my skill bar in any setup since the Ice Bow nerf (at least before, I would use it for demolishing physical structures such as the burrows from AC). Even more so when the Auramancer builds became meta.

I am a bit surprised that conjures are not getting the love they deserve though I must say it is a bit out of place for a profession that already has a plethora of skills via attunements (unlike engineers where kits present an alternative from an otherwise single weapon skillset).

In line with this, I am actually thinking of scrapping conjures in favor of skills with more specific purpose (e.g.: mobility, condi cleanse etc.).

tl;dr: Haven’t used conjures, might be better if replaced.

A couple of bugs: Temple of Melandru Meta

Sigh. I did not realize that this bug was so prevalent! I’m so frustrated since I only need the temple for my precursor quest! Can this be investigated and fixed please! (or give as an alternative in the meantime)

Wanted to show my Charr Elementalist!

Since modern Charr society shun magic, I went for an ‘oppressed’ look where the magic wielder looks restrained and ‘under control’.

Went for gold shades in reference to the ‘Gold Legion’ which was the shaman caste.

Same here! Wanted to craft a piece but information about ‘Guild Insignias’ has been very bleak. Probably and addition in later patches? (I hope soon cause I’m dying to get my hands on one guild armor piece)

Elementalist Staff being used as a Weapon

Well, IMO, it doesn’t have to be fancy or grand, it just needs to feel like that staff is being ‘wielded’ for casting rather than just being held on to. Staff animations also shouldn’t compete with mobility since, as mentioned, only meteor shower roots the ele to cast in place. At its current state, the staff animations feel… ‘vanilla’.

Elementalist Staff being used as a Weapon

Pardon the break from the usual build and patch discussions but I recently had this weird obsession about staff casting animations for the elementalist. I just felt that regardless of race, the animations while using using the staff do not make use of it as a weapon. Most of the time, the weapon itself just hangs passively while the ‘other hand’ does most of the spellcasting.

I was hoping that this could be changed so that the staff feels more like an active weapon, something that is wielded in battle. For example, ‘Lightning Surge’ has this animation where the staff is wielded like a shot gun to shoot lightning. Here are some of my suggestions:

-General
Auto Attacks: Same animation but this time using the staff hand, with the projectile appearing from the tip

- Fire
Lava Font: An aggressive staff ground strike that forms a lava pool.
Meteor Storm: The staff is thrown into the air (just like when you cast meteor while holding a boulder) followed by a rain of fire from the heavens.

-Water
Geyser: A rising sweep causing a fountain to appear.
Healing Rain: A ‘praying stance’ ending with a flourish.

-Air
Gust: The staff spins rapidly like a fan, shooting a powerful gust.
Static Field: The staff is flung to the target area, serving as a conducting rod.

-Earth
Unsteady Ground: The staff is used to draw a line on the ground, forming impassable ground.
Shockwave: The staff is wielded like a hammer strike, sending out a shockwave.

Not sure how this will impact PVP since some animations maybe giveaways but I was hoping it will add flavor to the weapon.
