Great Jungle Wurm dies too fast

This is definitely a problem with the wurm scaling when 20+ people are all hitting on it. At least the shadow behemoth and fire elemental let you have enough time to score a couple rounds of hits. The wurm is worst, with the maw being a close second.

Even if the exploit doesn’t exist, people still seem to be jumping servers to try it. That causes issues with zones being full and getting bumped to overflows.

Very simple solution would be to not allow characters to loot major chests (ie dragon chests and meta event chests like shadow behemoth) on other servers. No exceptions at all.

Soul Bound Minis

There are currently two groups of soulbound minis that should really be changed to account bound to be consistent and to allow the mini collectibles to operate the way they should. Those two groups are the minis gained from the HOM and the mini’s just implemented from the guild merit merchant (ie the 3 golems). All the other special minis are account bound. Also, making these soulbound defeats the purpose of having a collectible storage system for them.

Don’t think they’ll ever implement a feature that takes away the timers on upgrades. I think this because it goes away from their concept of forcing players to understand how to play before unlocking everything for them, just as the tiers for skills works and the unlocks for skill slots, swapping, etc. You could theoretically start a guild, buy a bunch of influence with gold, then buy all the upgrades for the guild without ever really “learning” how to operate a guild or have any guild synchronization between the members.

GW2 F2P model

Is you knew history of gaming, GW1 was the first F2P model in MMOs. Other games then realized that they needed to change their models, so they reinvented the “new” F2P model which is the one you describe. Quite frankly, I don’t think they should just be able to change the meaning of something to suite their purposes.

Exactly Sirendor. When the game has a F2P model (it isn’t a B2P whatever you say) already, it makes no sense to convert to another F2P model cause you’ll only alienate those that have already bought the game. Also, if I’m not mistaken, most of the games you talked about had a monthly subscription. In those instances, converting to a F2P model as you discribe makes sense as it will increase their player base and potentially equal or surpass their monthly income previously. GW2 (or GW1) was never like those games.

Why would anyone want this since it’s already a F2P model once you buy the account?

Guild Attendance Check

A couple more things I was able to confirm.

1. You HAVE to be representing a guild in order to get influence for it. There has been some discussion on the forum and wiki about not having to represent to get influence.

2. If you log on a character that doesn’t get influence, it locks you out for the day. For example, logging a second character into divinity’s reach will stop your ability to gain any more attendance influence for the day.

Thanks Kylla for the link. I haven’t seen that before.

Here are my observations on how this is calculated and noted in the guild logs. I hope this clears up some areas.

1. The influence for attendance is given immediately upon login. It is given per character, however there seems to be a limit as I’ve only gotten 50 at most (sometimes it says I get 60 one day and 40 the next, but it was actually 50 per day). I assume this is because each account is given 5 character slots. I’m in a guild by myself to test this out.

2. Characters must be in different zones to gain influence. I haven’t checked to see if logging in a second character for a zone stops your ability to gain more influence for that day (from other characters).

3. Influence is only gained during specific random times throughout the day. I get home at the same time and login at the same time each weekday. Some days I get influence, some I don’t. There are never two days in a row that I don’t get influence. This might be a result of some weird 24 hour lockout, but that doesn’t make much sense to me. On the weekends, sometimes I log in around noon (5 hours before i login for the weekdays) and get influence.

4. Although influence is earned immediately, the log of the daily check is around 12GMT (12 hours after daily reset). No influence is added at this time – it is only a log of influence gained. Sometimes the daily log gets jumbled into other days, however I think this is because of internal clock issues and how it relates to my time zone.

Hope this helps.

That isn’t true. When it posts to the guild information, it does check for “who’s been online in the last 24 hours”, however the attendance check does give influence immediately and only during certain times.

So I really wanted to stick this in the bug thread because in my mind it is a bug, but i finally decided to put it in general discussion. The problem is this – the way Anet checks for guild attendance isn’t fun or fair because it only checks during random times and doesn’t do a true “daily check”. This is similar to the issues Anet had with their one off events a couple months ago. Because of work I am only able to log on during certains times, yet 2 of the past 3 days I haven’t gotten any guild influence because I’m not logging on during the “right” times. I have two possible solutions to this.

1. Make the attendance check a true daily check. Reset it at 0 GMT like the dailies are reset. It shouldn’t be too hard to do this.

2. Automatically add X amount of influence to each guild based on the number of members. I understand this will greater effect larger guilds. Also, with accounts able to join multiple guilds this does have some issues.

I’m just incredibly frustrated with how the calculation operates now because some days I’m missing out on 50 influence due to missing the daily attendance. For a guild of 1 (for personal storage) this has a huge impact.

When I search the forums I sometimes get up to 4k results, but can’t progress beyond the first page. There is no “Next” button or page number options on the page anywhere. This is very frustrating if I’m searching for an earlier post, because the results default to newest posts first.

October monthly achievement error. [Merged]

So for those of us that are not going to be able to login the last week of the month are SOL for the monthly achievement? How is this a good idea? The title of the achievement says “MONTHLY”. If one of the requirements is only open for a week, then you’re lying to the players.
