High poly count is good. Its 2015 and system requirements often go up over time in MMOs. Its not Anets fault if you use ancient low budget hardware.

its not about high polygon counts. A Cube of 1 million polygons will look the same with a cube of 12 polygons. But the former will kill your cpu.

its about optimisations so that you don’t use more polygons than u need to display the same thing.

But why is this area that is smaller than WvW, more laggier than it? it should be due to optimisation?

I think many people are playing with normal hardware – i consider mine. its a quad core 2.4Ghz, with ati 6750m, sure its not a super high end rig. But should be able to play with all low settings at least right?

Im setting all to low and still getting 20 Fps, the thing is other areas i can play at 40-60. Only this map.

I think they can lower some of the model’s polygon count, and still have it look the same, and reduce loads on the CPU.

Hi,
I hope arena net fixes this, because this map is unplayable for people with low end laptops like mine. I am using a Macbook 15" quad core 2.4 ghz, with ATI RADEON 6750m.

My settings is all low with textures HIGH, and am able to play most of guild wars with 40-60 FPS. Even in WvW i can get 50 FPS.

However, in this new map, i am getting 20 FPS…… some of my friends with high end PCs get 50 FPS a drop from 60. Which is not so bad, since they are already on high end PCs.

But for most of us low enders, this is almost unplayable, it should now be, i mean this map is smaller than WvW and PVE instances, why is it so laggy. Are you not optimising the environment models ?

Could you check with your Graphics designers how much Polygon counts they are using on this map, i think they have not optimised it, because there is no reason this map should be running at 20 FPS, when i can run 60 FPS on larger, more detailed maps.
