No one is saying that ANET employees don’t work hard and create a good product. And my problem with this is not the fact new players get it for free (though, it is kind of a stick in the eye to us veteran players). My issue is the price of the expansion does not match the scope of it. Yes, it has not arrived yet and we don’t fully know what it will entail. We DO know it will not be the same size and scale of the full game, which is cheaper than $50. Will the expansion have the same amount of content as the full game? No way it will.
Again, don’t apologize for me as I am not sorry for voicing my opinion. I – and hundreds (maybe thousands) — am not as thrilled as you to shell out this much for a patch.

My guild (16 people) will not buy the expansion either. Even the ones who can actually buy it (we live in Brazil, so $50 is almost 1/5 of the minimum monthly wage here. Expensive) will not do it because their guild won’t follow.

Try Brazil where we get around $275 as minimum monthly wage and then spend $50 on it (+Credit card taxes). I would buy it gladly if they delivered the same content they delivered in the freaking core game, but at the same time, they are just giving it FREE to new players. I don’t think it is respectful to the veteran players, and I also don’t believe they will deliver the same amount of content, so…

WHERE THE kitten THE PRICE IS FINE?

I mean, $50 for some maps (being fair, the beta map is fine). But c’mon? Not even a character slot? It is impossible to stand by your side like this.

Also, it’s a kittenty move to give the game for free like this. They should’ve announce it before. There are friends of mine that bought the core game two weeks ago, and now ANet is just giving the game?

It is, AT LEAST, disrespectful.
