they should focus on event chains that continue when it succeeds. i’ve personally encountered a good one:
1. it starts with collecting dwarven artifacts for an innkeeper
2. then fighting off bandits that wanted to get one of the rare artifacts
3. then escorting a caravan that will transfer the artifact to someone who knows what to do with it
4. then after arriving they would do some sort of ritual that then summons a big boss that can be defeated by a group
in addition, i would like them to have looooooonger quest chains maybe up to 10 or so that can last for an entire day. that would be epic.
i agree! i love the idea of dynamic events but the current implementation makes it interesting only on the first time you encounter it. i’d like it if some of these events have some sort of world changing effect that lasts for days. as it is, it’s not that immersive when the most significant changes i see are waypoints being temporarily contested or overrun by enemies.
i think this will be a hard thing to solve because they have to make the events loopable otherwise other players wont be able to experience them. but by making it loop too quickly, it ruins the idea behind why they did dynamic events in the first place and just completely breaks the immersion.
they should introduce on top of these loopable events some rarer ones that do not loop and pops up maybe once a day only and that can have long term effects on the map. i want to return to a map i’ve been to and be surprised that the place has actually changed. like, perhaps a quest a few days ago introduced a new species of monster in the area and now two days later the drakes that i fought there have now been replaced by a completely different enemy type. and along with it, a different set of events too.
