Hey guys, one quick little question:
Been meaning to switch to a NA server (I’m from europe) and would just like to know if there is any huge lag difference? I know it depends on pc specs and my ISP, but still, assuming i have a nice computer and quick internet, should migrating to a NA server affect my gaming experience?
I don’t really care for who won though, I just needed a support button to get those stupid achievements that force you to use them in order to complete ‘em. It’s pretty stupid we can’t get them or finish the stuff before the event is even over.
Yeah, the support boxes are closed it seems. I was wondering if there were some special merchants or whatnot that could trade them for you, but it seems there isn’t.

So here’s the thing: i have stacks of tokens i planned to use today, but it seems the election is over and i wasn’t able to use them. That’s peachy but i’m really jonesing for a kiel support button seeing as I haven’t finished her meta achievement yet and i really want her mini or the completionist in me will most surely perish.
So, the question is, can we still trade the support tokens for support buttons even though the election is over?
Straightforward question, am I still able to complete this part of the Living Story and its respective achievements? I know that you cannot complete the Flame&Frost stuff anymore, so I was just wondering.
I’m still missing around 30 points, not counting the 10 I had to repeat for the ‘hints’ achievement. I have been playing this game in grand part for the achivement hunting, and having it cut down is disheartening :/
and LA is inaccessible… great
hey, before the patch I had around 3244 achiv. points, now I have 1984? what gives? what happened? all that hard work for nothing? I don’t seem to have lost any of the title progression with the exception of those numbers. what’s up?
Thanks, this fixed it for me! <3
I’ve tried that, still doesn’t update… It’s not a dealbreaker by far, but it bugs the hell outta me having those 10 achiv. points and being unable to complete them because of some bug of sorts?
I’ve also seen some inconsistencies here and there.
I seem to be unable to complete this hint. I’m trying to get the hints achievement and I’m only missing this one, I’m constantly swapping pets but the hint doesn’t seem to want to update himself. Any thoughts?
well, thank you very much
So, I was wondering, my main is a weaponsmith/jewler, but to get Twilight, the Legndary GS, I need to be 400 in armorsmithing. Now, I know I can just swap professions without losing progress, thing is I’ve been leveling armorsmithing in an alt of mine.
Question is, can I craft the necessary armorsmithing gift in my alt and send it to my main so he could use it on the Twilight Recipe? Or are gifts character bound?
Thanks in advance.
@Kilroy; thing is, you don’t miss out on NOTHING at all. Like I said, you complete the event because you’re able to trigger it from the platform. The mobs spawn, do nothing until it reaches 100 and you’re able to get the chest. No tokens missed at all.
Also, I don’t know what you guys read, but you’re not getting the OP. This is not a discussion about what was changed and why, but a clear way of sitting through the second event chest AND STILL GET THE REWARDS FOR IT.
Hi Robert, thanks for your time and explaining your reasoning behind the changes.
Thing is, Magg aggros everything that moves now, and the respawn timers are too fast to make it anything more than just a hassle. It’s not hard to kill those trash mobs. It’s just plain excruciating and boring. Not fun. Anyway, if the whole party runs towards the magmacyte he’ll still rapidly get to us most of the times, no escorting involved.
About your second point though, a guy from one of my parties found an exploit, here’s a more detailed thread about it https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Bug-in-Citadel-of-Flames-exploit-perhaps/first#post157387. Still, with the way it is made, people will still try to kite, or just mass suicide. It wasn’t a fix at all, because it’s not working as intended. What’s fun about kiting, or mass suiciding until a terribly slow timer gets to 100? Not a thing. Make it so 3 or 4 trash mobs approach Magg from the door or something, let us really defend him. Having them spawn like that? Out of thin air? It’s DA2 all over again, except they spawn too fast and hit too hard. We just have two dodges, not an infinite number of them.
Now, to your third point… I got nothing. It was a really nice change, because it was effectively too easy. It still is, but it was a change in the right direction. What I think you should do is make Gaheron a true threat and not just a fear/immobilize mob. We just ignore him. Making the flames hit harder although more threatening doesn’t change the encounter, at all. You did right with this one, though.
Please, do read this.
I was going through post-patch CoF today and a guy in our party told us not to do a thing at the second chest event, the one we usually kite around and which time of completion was doubled.
So, what he did there is activate the event, let Magg die and the event fail, then hop through some stones on north right side of the cavern, using the right torch to get to the top of the gate, at which point Magg would teleport to us so we could initiate the event once again without the fear of getting hit by the spawns, as we were far away from their range.
This way we completed the event just by sitting around. I’ve done it one more time just so I could test it again (I won’t lie, it makes things way easier and the idea of exploiting it is very appealing, but it’s an exploit nevertheless and should be dealt with asap) and it we were able to get Magg at the top of that platform again.
If I wasn’t very clear about anything, let me know, english is not my maiden language.
Eir has nothing to regret, just like Logan has nothing to regret.
And no he isn’t at fault by any standard, unless your standard is the same as the people who blame coffee shops when they spill hot coffee on themselves. He quite literally did nothing, him leaving did not result in anyone’s death.
Glint and Snaff’s deaths were the result of a cascading series of events that started over 10,000 years ago.
We might as well blame
-The Dwarven, Forgotten, Mursaat, Seer, and Jotun alliance for failing to kill the Dragons in the last cycle.
-Glint herself for never warning the races in advance of what was to come
-The human gods who cataloged the efforts of the 5 races in Arah and used the city as a giant archive of dragon-lore yet apparently told no one.
-The rest of DE who, in their arrogance, believed they could take on Kralky without Logan’s power. It is no one persons fault, and to try to blame it solely on one person is very stupid because it ignores how w got to the situation in the first place.
Looking from a cascading effects perspective, I can agree with you. From a present perspective, however, I think it’s natural to blame Logan. But I think that comes down to personal opinion, don’t it?
Eir regrets her choice. You can see that in her dialogue and her insistence to make things right, even with Zojja being a pita about it. Logan, on the other hand, couldn’t care less. He’s at fault here, by every standard, I really can’t get how people can defend him…
Yes, Eir could’ve called it all off and she didn’t, tough call, bad choice; kitten happened. She, however, tried to remedy it all. And she only had to make that choice because Logan decided to leave.
In the end, everything happened due to his selfish choice.
Right and wrong are terms that humans apply to actions based on our perception of events.
Logan doesn’t have to apologize for making a “wrong” choice because he didn’t.
Right and wrong are not absolutes, they are opinions, and like all opinions, no one person’s opinion is any more correct then any others.
The breaking up of DE is not one person’s fault, it is the fault of all people who have an opinion on the matter that they believe was right, which is to say, all of them.
But when that opinion is born of one man’s actions and one man’s actions alone, you find yourself wondering if those opinions aren’t right at all.
The stone summit should be all gone, as far as I know. And dwarves, at least in Tyria the continent, all undergone the rite at some point. Ogden is proof of that, since he was reluctant at taking it back in GW1 (he even said it in a dialogue) but he somehow in those 250 years took it. There’s the possibility that, just like human or tengu, dwarves have colonies in other places, but that’s doubtful as there are no records whatsoever of that and we know a great deal about dwarf lore.
From the screenshots in every thread about this issue, the asura affected all have the same hairstyle. Maybe that is interesting?
It seems everyone with this problem has that kind of hairtstyle and is asura. interesting. BUT FIX IT, PLEASE.
I have my asura created since the 25th and starting sunday his face was blacked out. I hate playing the guy like that, fix it please. I have even submited a bug report yesterday or so but nothing.
