This event not starting is seriously obnoxious.

I’ve been waiting forever for this to be fixed as well. I think the devs hate us.

Can you keep anything Revenants finds?

I’m remembering the funny post I saw yesterday, where someone pondered if the Hand of Irony would give him his first precursor… in the test.

But as shared, items and wealth won’t transfer to your real account. That just wouldn’t be a good idea at all.

Sad thing is – this happened to a guildie in my party in the sw this morning. The Lover dropped for him. And now it will disappear and he’s disgusted and angry.

Home Instance Bandit Chest

It’s not like keys are expensive. First thing i did was throw a stack of 100 keys to my home instance parked alt, the one that does the daily node mining. Now he’s got one more node per round, and i’ve got 100 days to remember to send him more keys before he runs out…

So, you can collect the chest for 100 days then….
All of my nodes are forever, no assembly required.
And when no ones in the silverwastes any more?

Then it’ll take slightly more effort to refresh the stock? Every SW event rewards crests. It’s dead easy to solo a keep and to follow with the rubble event, and you get 30 crests out of it i believe? Or i’ll stop bothering, who knows. It’s not like it’s a gem store item, we got that for free, as an additional gizmo.

edit: of course rubble event follows defense, not capture. Point still stands, but duh!

I do not want to continually be forced to play old content, potentially by myself, on a toon that I have earmarked for other things on the complete other side of the world, just to be able to keep opening that chest.
This also requires extra, full price porting, negating the profit from the chest.
If I had known that it would b like this, I never would have bothered with the story at all.
I have the crystallized node & the candy corn node in my instance. Both were worth the time & energy I spent to get them, because they don’t cost me something additional in order to harvest them.

You made a good point I hadn’t thought about. Being forced to replay old content.

However, with the new boss, there is the potential to keep people in the zone, albeit for a short while until something new comes along. It’s been nice to find that people are still farming events in Dry Top, but without something similar to the Mawdrey grind to force people to keep farming the map, sw will eventually die down. Unless they’re thinking that new people leveling up and those unlocking the living story via gems at some later point will keep the map relevant, it still does not negate the fact that we were given a permanent node in our home instance that is not worth it. At least it was technically free, I’d be madder than hell if I worked my tail off and bought it and then had to pay to use it.

But if it’s a reward it should be one free chest each day. Otherwise, it’s more like a shovel dispenser. I mean, I would at least understand that.

Yes I do. I did complete it, and it still requires a key. When I try to unlock it, I can’t unless I have a bandit key. Other people in my guild are having the same issue. It isn’t much of a reward :/

I first heard about gw2 from my husband, who followed it from the time it was announced until it was released. We came across this gaming community who was pushing for a server to be named after one of their dearly departed members, and I recall thinking “I want to be part of that”. So when the servers came online in head start, this is where we joined. And we joined the Gaiscioch family shortly thereafter.

I’ve played a lot of mmo’s and I’ve never seen a server with so many guilds that have banded together into a larger entity. In WvW it isn’t about which guild does what. I’ve seen 5 people from 5 guilds following a commander because that’s how we do it. I’d never participated in large scale combat like WvW before gw2, so when I took my newbie self out there I chased Fog around and died every time he ran me off a cliff. But it was fun. I’ve never gone into WvW and not had fun. Even when we’ve been outmanned, it’s still been a lot of fun. Watching the rainbow golem party is hilarious. I don’t think I would have kept doing WvW if it hadn’t been for the great people out there making it awesome.

Beyond WvW, the server does a lot of pve together. Not just world bosses or champ trains, but there’s a lot of helpful people out there not afraid to answer questions or go out of their way to help new players. Yes, every server has some bad apples, but the good ones vastly outnumber the bad ones. I’ll never change servers, even if I’m one the very few at the very end. I’ll still be here

Feedback: New Accounts Can't WvW Till 18?

I bought my son an account during the sale as well, and he is pretty hardcore into sPvP and WvW. He was really sad that he had to spend a day leveling a character in PvE before he could go to WvW. Is it a deal breaker? Not to us. But it was highly inconvenient and shouldn’t be a requirement, especially because WvW uplevels everyone to 80. Who cares if they’re level 5 or 50? Or naked with a stick like Fog said. Stop forcing people to play a certain way ANet – let us play OUR way.

Mine finally got a move on and slowly downloaded the launcher update, and then finally some files. It’s not done yet, still needs 10 files (15%). It’s as slow as molasses in January, but at least it’s doing something.

I killed firewall, anti virus, restarted computer and router. No dice. I can’t even get the launcher to update. Scanned for everything, deleted temp files. All routine clean up work done. Still nothing.

Try manually authenticating.

Create a new shortcut to GW2.exe and add -authsrv 64.25.40.16 to it.

For example:
“C:\Program Files\ANet\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -authsrv 64.25.40.16

(or you can just type this into the run field on the windows start menu)

For information about how to use command-line switches on the mac (or more details about how to do it in windows, see the wiki): command line arguments

Did this, and no change. Still no connection.

Edited to add: My husband updated his game in like 30 seconds and is back to playing. But mine won’t update.
