Thanks! I looked it up on the wiki now. Sounds promising, exactly what I am looking for.
Sorry, should have clarified: We’re not on the same ‘home’ server, we can only play on overflow together.
Usually you can join your friend if they are in overflow, or join you when you are in overflow. Is there a way to play together when both people get connected to their main server? Any way to join overflow intentionally?
Considering most of the trading post is already just a website displayed within your game client, I can see this happen.
It sure is. But what if the confirm button doesn’t do a thing because the servers are non-responsive yet again. No doubt that in such a situation some people will click it more than once.
See, there’s another thing that would greatly improve the trading post (imo): confirmation messages/alerts. Why not darken the trading post area after clicking on the confirm button for a few seconds. If the client has not gotten a reply back from the server (after like 10 seconds) display an error message. Otherwise pop up a successful message. Just give the user feedback inside the shop.
I would like to add a suggestion regarding the trading post, which I think would reduce the amount of people who run into lag/connectivty issues while buying stuff with gems. Consider the following scenario:
1) My account holds 800 gems.
2) I buy an item from the Gem Store for 400 gems.
3) No gems are deducted from my account but my gems are “locked” instantly. I can not use them to buy anything.
4) The purchased item will be delivered ingame. The item is wrapped inside a “container” and has an “on use” effect which will:
a) Deduct the amount of gems the item was bought for (in this case 400) from my account.
b) Unlock the gems, so I can make purchases in the store again.
c) Give me the purchased item.
The container/wrapper you receive by buying an item in the store should be sellable again BEFORE opening it. Selling it would unlock your gems again.
What do you think?
