That is good setup for budjet gaming if you add one more GPU to it like Radeon 7750. And if you are not using ddr3 2133 MHz you will be losing a lot fps. Also overclocking gpu/cpu gives you good boost to fps.
That place you posted on screenshots is very CPU bound. You will get much better results if you overclock your CPU.
I’m not getting much better results. That area is very heavy for CPU/GPU. FPS 26.5. Resolution 1920×1200. Every setting is maxed. Except FXAA is disabled. You will get better FPS when using fullscreen. I lost approx 5 fps if not fullscreen.
My specs are:
FX-8320@4800/2600
Radeon 7850@1150/1410
DDR3 2133-10-11-10-T1 4*2GB
Did u check if ur gpu utilization was close to 100%? If you know how to oc and your motherboard supports it and you have good cooler I would myself overclock it. But core parking may help little ur fps problem.
I ran GPU-z. Most areas run pretty good 40+ fps, although my GPU usage was in the 90s mostly. Cursed shore around penitent was bad 20-25 fps and that is where I was in my first post. It seems my GPU usage does max out but FPS is acceptable in most areas.
Miiksu, do you have any problems with the beta drivers. I have been scared to try those.
Nope. Good drivers
No more flickering in DX9 games. And I think less micro stuttering in some games.
Do what Rampage said
There is no need for that. There is no problems in my GPU usage, core clock or memory clock. Trust me. I have checked it. And I have good knowledge of computers. No need to think im newbie on this.
This statement would say different
I don’t have anything to measure my GPU
Rampage was not looking for the actuall usage he was looking for the bus interface speed the card was running, IE x4 x8 or the propper x16 but oh well. And if this is not running at the propper speed it will kill the performance.
No worries it runs x16 speed.

I just built a new computer with an AMD FX-8350, radeon 6770, and 16 GB of RAM and I can only get 10-15 fps no matter what settings I use.
Any ideas?
You are not the only one. I have too very bad fps problem since beginning and it only with two games, this game and Tera. I can run other games smoothly like Metro 2033, Planetside 2 and Tribes Ascend without problems. And I have lost my will to play much.

My system specs are:
AMD FX-8150 @4700 MHz / NB 2600 MHz
G.Skill 2133-10-11-10-T1 8 GB
Gigabyte Radeon 7850 OC (Catalyst 13.3 beta3)
Windows 8 (up to date)
@Hickeroar
Yep. But it helped me somehow. My GPU was always 90-99%. I don’t have problem with GPU utilization. CPU is between 20 and 30%. Maybe it’s just that GPU doing more job and it helps me when setting every eye candy maximum.
What helped me with my r7850 card and fx-8150 compo was turn AA to override mode and 8xEQ + Edge Detect with 24xEQ samples. And MSAA changed to Adaptive Multi Sample AA. Smoother gameplay even it may sound crazy to turn every eye candy to it’s maximum. Maybe it break something and I get better FPS or it fixes something. I don’t know. But atleast worth to try.
Purchased GW2 1st Sept. Unable to play. Crashes/Bsod/Freezes.

It may be your graphic card that causin this, but GW2 trickers it. What is your graphic card? And drivers up to date?

So what is the bsod error you get?
And the usual: What is your graphic card?

Windowed fullscreen eliminates sticky mouse.
Hmm maybe for those who use integraded sound card. At the moment I am using ESI JULI@ PCI sound card. For me I don’t see any difference between lowest and best sound quality.
Are they gonna say same to me that my PC is outdated? Norn, old grown forest, Charr 2nd area, Lion’s Arch, Black Citadel everywhere bad frame rates. What if Intel was 50% slower these days? Would we still have 2 core optimazed CPU/GPU intense DX9 engine? AMD is not bad Intel just is a lot better these days. I’ts not excuse.
Hey all,
For those of you that tired to use the -perfdebug command last night, can you confirm that the .dat file that should be found in the profiles folder is not there for me please.
Yep. There is only these few files; gw2.dat, local.dat.
Here: “D:\Pelit\Guild Wars 2\gw2.exe” -perfdebug
Same here. Nothing happened.
I recommend samsung memory kit: http://www.h-online.com/priceinsight/eu/756888

Something is badly wrong as I statement before. When setting everything lowest as possible I get 45 fps in Black Citadel. I have AMD FX eight core and Radeon 7850.
It looks like you can uninstall the first one but not the second: “Important If you apply this update, you cannot revert the settings by uninstalling this update. This update should only be installed on computers that have KB2645594 installed.” That’s what i was refering to.
I don’t remember seeing that warning but who cares if you still get mostly of time slightly performance increase. If I don’t remember wrong performance increase was something like 0-3 fps.
The patches that have been released for Windows 7 are crap too, you get no improved performance and you cannot uninstall them.
Yes you can uninstall AMD hotfixes. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Installed Updates > search; KB2645594 and KB2646060. Uninstall, reboot and you are done
I did not notice any improvement. And I don’t get it how it should help. I would like to hear some explanation.
If it’s PSU usually it reboot computer, bad 3D performance and bsods.
If it’s Graphic Card your GPU usually stops working, corrupted textures, bsods, etc.
If it’s RAM you get bsods and crashing software.
If it’s motherboard you get bsods and it can shut off your computer most likely without error messages.
Hmm sounds like to me that your motherboard is fried.
FX-8150 @4,7 GHz and stock Radeon 7850-oc. I get 45 fps low settings at Black Citadel. I am a bit amused right now.
I have stopped using Super Sample and V-Sync for the moment. It’s now somehow playable in most areas but still struggling with low fps when fighting big fights like group events and WvWvW. I have overclocked my PC to it’s limits and still not getting enough “horsepower”. CPU was FX-8150 and GPU Radeon 7850. I am waiting that day I get smooth fps with Super Sample and Vsync on without buying 400-550€ graphic card.

Ups. Wrong thread sorry.
Which graphic card u have? If you have AMD card. Use application setting Anti-Aliasing in CCC. It should do the trick.
Thanks so much for the reports everyone! Just know that we haven’t forgotten about you all and we’re still looking into this issue. One thing I would like to note, however, is of the many causes for low performance for players with high end graphics cards is that their PCi-Express GPU is plugged into a 1x|4x slot rather than a 16x slot. For players who have recently upgraded their video cards, we recommend ensuring that the GPU is plugged into the proper PCi-Express slot for maximum performance.
This is a joke, right? I do PC hardware support for a living. There is no such thing as a high-end video card that goes in a 1x or 4x slot. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
A PCIx16 video card cannot physically fit into a smaller slot.
Perhaps you meant to say that some users were using a SLI-compatible PCI-e x16 slot which when used alone (without other SLI cards installed) runs at 8x, and therefore the user should consult their motherboard manual to determine the proper slot to use when using a single video card. This is literally the only situation that could be somewhat similar to what you’re describing.
Also, to clarify, even if a user was using it in a PCI-e x16 slot running at 8x, they would not see the level of performance degradation as reported in this thread. Many SLI systems default the ports to 8x on the secondary or third video card slot anyways, with relatively marginal difference.
In addition, new PCI-e 3.0 slots run much faster than their 2.0 counterparts. So an ‘x8’ speed 3.0 slot is at least as fast as an ‘x16’ 2.0 slot.
I don’t intend to be mean, but this is a tech support forum, perhaps someone with basic PC knowledge should be the one communicating with the users.
You know that PCI-E x16 graphic card can fit any PCI-E slot if you want and it works. You just have to cut open slot’s ending. Try it yourself if don’t believe. And some motherboards have two long as x16 slots but another one can be x4 if not high end motherboard.

That is pleasure to hear. Thank you!

In some areas fps 25 or less, but usually around 30-40 fps. Every setting is maxed out in game. At WvWvW I get nice dia show. FPS around 10 when hundreds of people fighting.
