You will start getting DR when you have completed more than 5 paths within a certain time frame (2 hours I think?). Had you done four p1s instead of five, you would have gotten normal rewards for p2.
Lack of incentives. I’d like to play wvw more, but most of the time I just find it a waste of time :/ Time better spent progressing elsewhere.
I’m not a huge fan of the fire and water #1 animations. Apart from that though, it’s still one of my favorite legendaries, and probably the next one I’ll be going for :] Big grats!
The clock tower was by far the most fun I’ve had in this game in a while, and it was easily the best thing about Halloween!
There really was nothing wrong with the balancing of CT, it was perfectly tuned. Big character models blocking the view is a horrible excuse. If you practice it for 9 hours like some have said they’ve done, you should be able to do it blind, unless you simply don’t learn from your mistakes.. There’s plenty of bugged, overtuned or artificially difficult content in this game, but this time the content wasn’t to blame.
It breaks my heart to see Josh so sorry. I and loads of other people found the tower so, so fun. I’d really like to see more similarly tuned jumping puzzles in the game, but alas it probably won’t happen so long as the majority of people just can’t do it.
Can’t be working as intended. Legendaries are supposed to be just another skin onto which you can transmute the stats you want. I can’t see it being intended for people to, in a sense, be stuck with the original stats. Purple text isn’t something people would want to give up after the grind of obtaining it, as silly as it may seem.
The hardest part is immediately after the part where you have to wait for the cogs, where there’s always a big zerg of people and lots of small obstacles for you to get stuck on. The trick I found to work wonders here is to keep running in a straight line and smash jump. That’ll get you over all the obstacles well ahead of the flock.
After that, you just need to learn the route. Never let go of your run key, and just aim with mouse and rely on airstrafing to correct your trajectory. Keep to the right at the last part (head for a narrow beam on your right instead of the bricks on your left), and you’ll have plenty of time. Keep trying!
You have to wait for the lightning to strike
This. If you don’t see the lightning strike and the glass break, you’re either too early and will have to wait for another rotation or two, or you’re too late and are screwed.
Yes, I found it insanely fun! :] By far the best jumping puzzle in the game. I don’t find it overtuned in the slightest, although the big zerg at the start obscuring your view can be tricky.
You really don’t need any speed boosts for this, because there isn’t a single jump that’s a real stretch. Also, towards the end, stay to the right and take the narrow beams up rather than following the floating rocks to the left. You also have plenty of time once you clear the leap of faith; I’ve found myself having to wait two full rotations at the top before the lightning breaks the glass.
There is nothing unfair about the puzzle, it is not overtuned, it is not broken. Just keep at it, people!
I’m an ele, so I run pretty fast. But during my early attempts at the puzzle, there was a guardian in the same instance who was constantly rubberbanding, or skipping forward, while running. He always reached the first cog far, far ahead of me.
If you look around on Youtube, you’ll see that speed hackers tend to look exactly like that; they don’t just run fast, they’re constantly skipping forward as if they were lagging a lot.
