The good news is we all appear to be winning this ‘waiting’ game you speak of.
The little patience I have left is starting to wear thin. However, as the saying goes, “misery loves company” so I’m glad I have some people to share it with.
Been trying to download for almost 2 hours. Already adjusted host file as well as DNS. Other suggestions?
If you are still having this issue, change your online status to invisible, and then back to online. That solved the issue for me.
I don’t think it’s a bug, but it’s still annoying. If you didn’t have the skin either in your inventory/bank, on a character, or on a still-existing item that had the skin tied to it via transmutation, then it won’t show up as unlocked. So, even if you already bought a bunch of the cultural armor before the wardrobe went in, they won’t be Unlocked in the wardrobe if you don’t still have the item.
That makes sense. Sucks, but makes sense.
When looking at my fashion achievement level this afternoon I noticed I have 12/18 Asuran armors toward the achievement. I went to purchase the remaining armors and noticed every armor (T1, T2, T3) shows the armor skin as locked. I double checked this by looking in my wardrobe, and confirmed none of the armors are unlocked. Is this some type of bug from when the wardrobe feature was added? I apologize if this has already been discussed. I did search the forums, but didn’t find anything.
A “fair system” would be for you to get no unidentified dyes at all. You’re already getting more than you deserve so be happy with it!
It’s like this:
6 months ago you bought 2 new computers and put 1 in one room and 1 in a second room. You paid $3,000 for those 2 new computers.6 months ago I bought 1 new computer and put it in one room in my house. I paid $1,500 because I only got 1 computer.
Today, the computer company is calling you up to tell you that on 4/15, they will give you a new, free computer for every room in your house and on top of that, you’ll be getting a free random electronic device since you had bought 2 computers in the past. I’m also getting some free computers for every room in my house, but I’m not getting the free random electronic device because I only bought 1 computer in the past.
Now, you’re completely ignoring the fact that you are being given THOUSANDS of dollars worth of free stuff and are instead focusing on the fact that you don’t believe that the free random electronic device will be worth $1,500.
You are absolutely correct that ANET doesn’t need to give us anything, but they are. I was merely suggesting an alternative solution that may help to minimize grief.
It isn’t compensation… it is a free bonus dye.
You were already compensated for the dye you purchased when you received the dye you paid for.
Ok, I’ll rephrase. …. Rather than, “receiving one unidentified dye for each duplicate dye already unlocked on your account” a more fair system would be to receive x number of unidentified dyes based on the rarity of the duplicate dye already unlocked on your account. Perhaps maybe even this would work…. receive one unidentified dye of equal rarity for each duplicate dye already unlocked on your account.
Personally, I’m thrilled over account-bound dyes. However, much like others have posted, feel like I’m not being adequately compensated for the amount of $$ I’ve put into purchasing dyes to get the various looks on my toons. Rather than getting a single unidentified dye for each duplicate, perhaps a more fair approach would be to give fixed number of dyes based on the rarity of the duplicated dye. So, for a basic we get 1, fine 2, masterwork 4, rare 8. Just a thought.
1. Ranger
2. Necromancer
3. Elementalist
I apologize if this is not the correct place to pose this question, but is there a list of the various bug fixes included with the November 13th content release?
Maw – You cant go behind his head anymore. They put another green block to block the path.
Asura Fractal – Mesmer can’t teleport anymore past the second set of platforms.
Cliffside – Going to take some more research as the bug was never a sure thing but it seems the boss at the end no longer drops his hammer if stacked inside him. He did come down with MS if we stayed inside him so you can just pound on him.
I rolled Cliffside last night, and the hammer dropped while stacked.
Did anyone notice any changes with Agony Resist? Did a lvl 30 and the agony from maw hit much harder than before. Both myself (Necro w/ 30AR) and our Guard (also 30 AR) got downed on the initial burst and that has never happened before.
Lvl 30 fotm will hit 30 AR for 12% per tick. I believe there are 9 ticks on Maw, so you’re looking at getting downed unless you heal, from full health. Even though, if they patched the back, it’s possible you got hit by a squid and didn’t notice your health already starting low.
Thanks for the explanation. I always wondered how AR damage is calculated, but never think about it when poking around on the forums. I’ll have to keep my eyes on those squids!

I blame the Dredge.
Hey guys, thanks for all of the help and feedback. Here is the rig that I think I’m going to end up going with
It looks pretty solid. The only thing I’m questioning is the power supply with that video card. The one you selected can probably handle it, but the manufacturer recommendation is a 600W supply. Can someone confirm this will be ok?
Drop the 760 for a 3 GB 7950. It’s faster and $60 cheaper. Also, CM isn’t usually too great a brand to go to for PSUs, which may be something to consider.
I didn’t notice that the TC needed a monitor, so a slight adjustment to my build:

and the 3 free games you get with that particular video card is a nice added benefit.
Another option.

If you need an OS you could drop the solid state, although I don’t recommend it (nothing like hitting the power button and being in game in about 30 seconds).
Your buddy is spot-on with those components, with one exception. I didn’t see an operating system mentioned.
Having just built a rig, I would highly recommend working in the solid state drive.
Saying “Have lag fix it” is as useful in solving the problem as posting the weather outside or sport scores. Support needs information to collect so when it’s passed on and aggregated a pattern may emerge so they can “work the problem”.
So file a ticket. Run and return the diagnostic they ask you to run. Shouting here does little to fix the problem. Sure it finds like players and makes you feel you aren’t alone and lets you vent but it isn’t going to fix the problem without providing them with data.
Well said. I couldn’t agree with you more.
I use Pingplotter Freeware. If there is a long ping time before you hit the 64.25.32.xx block, which is the start of their server cluster, then the problem is with the “Internet”.
Now using the IP you get from /IP you can it look up on that address on the TCP Connections of the Resource Monitor and see the Latency there.
Oh no! I did what was suggested and it turns out my issue really is the “internet”! How do I fix that?! Does anyone have the tech support number and/or email address to get it fixed? A buddy of mine told me not to worry as its probably an ID-10t or pebcak error which are pretty common and the internet will just fix itself, but I don’t know about that. Being a good consumer, I really want to let someone know the internet is broken in case other people are also having problems. hee hee hee
Just trying to inject a little humor into things. As one who has suffered the wrath of lag, I know the pain. While it’s unfortunate and very frustrating, anyone who plays games with an online component in this day and age knows there will be issues. Sometimes its non-optimized code, or the rig you play on, or your home internet connection, or even the internet as a whole as Xystus mentioned in the ‘highway’ example. As a long time gamer I just tell myself, this too shall pass. Eventually things will get fixed and work themselves out. Not to get all deep on you kittens, but with everything going on in this crazy world I sincerely hope the worst thing you’ve experienced today, this week, or month is lag in the video game you’re playing.
Thanks again for the advice! I just love how much people on these forums are willing to help.
Thanks for the advice. You are correct, I will be moving a 2TB drive.
Building a new computer where GW2 is the main game I play, with the occasional FPS thrown into the mix. Anything I should consider adjusting? My budget is ~$1000 (before monitor). I already have mouse, keyboard, and a 2 TB HDD that will be swapped out of my current computer. Will be ordering within the next few days.

Thanks in advanced for any advice!
Personally I like the off-hand axe, but I tend to play more of a support roll and primarily use #5 for its whirl finisher.
So I decided to give this build a try after having spent my entire career as a ranger running a 30/20/20/0/0 build. After about a week of PvE and dungeon running to get used to the build I decided to give WvW a try. For the first time (ever) I was able to get into the middle of a zerg rush and rather than watch my health almost instantly drop I just watched it dip occasionally. In addition, I really felt like I was contributing to my team with the boons/regen I’m able to apply. While I definitely miss the power (and even more, my precious long and shortbow), the amount of ‘tanking’ I’m able to do is amazing! All of this and I haven’t swapped out my rampager weapons or my armor yet (I do have the trinkets, runes, and sigils). I can only imagine what this will be like once I’m fully geared and understand the nuances of the build.
I’m in the same boat. Very frustrated over an irresponsible implementation, and disappointed in the the lack of respect/consideration being shown to their customers over correcting their error.
