My guildie found the “final curse” today from The Shatterer. Not sure if they are related, but the name implies so. It’s a rare boss, it spawns a big chest.
Looking at the names of the items, if final curse drops from the statterer, the final rest might drop from jormag. Most of the dragons just kinda lay down and die, but jormag falls from a cliff into the water, his final resting place. It’s a bit of a stretch, but just doing some thinking lol.
As it was said before, they need to remove the boxes until the fix is done. There will be many effected by this and it will just cause more time to be spent by Anet in the long run.
Im sorry, but if you don’t naturally complete at least PART of your dailies, you are just bad. I always look down and 80% of it is miraculously done, from just playing the game. Dodging… part of the game. Gathering… part of the game. Veterans, revives, you name it its all a HUGE part of guild wars 2. The only one I don’t normally do is crafting, and it takes all of 30 seconds with the gathered mats I have, to just run up to the crafter and craft something. Oh, and those stupid underwater kills >.>

It’s near impossible to deal with an unguilded hacker, which I think is what most of the reports on DB were.
They were unguilded, but I managed to report all 4 or 5 players I saw since they were in and out of the same towers over and over again. I would think report is a good way to track people down, heh.
Anyways… good match so far DB and Mag. It’s been fun besides the annoying bunch of cheaters tonight. Really, good fights have been had.
Why are Kains accusing people of hacking but getting upset when their server is accused of something similar?
Not even accusing when you are caught in the act….
We have videos of WM dying while auto attacking, but apparently that’s not proof of botting, instead people just accept that they’re incompetent.
Sorry to hear that, and if you’re indeed right, it needs to be addressed too. I’m not a big fan of anything of that nature, I don’t care what server it’s coming from.
I’m just addressing the issue I’m seeing tonight, that’s all. Not trying to say any server is worse at hacking, just that those responsible need to be dealt with :-/
Despite seeing valid arguments from both sides, and having a hard time siding with any particular one view in this thread, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not AoE that is the problem, but a lack of AoE balance between all classes that is.
If everyone had the same AoE an ele did (or even close), I think it would be a different story. But that’s sorta kinda the point of the Ele class anyways (to be an AoE heavy caster), so hear me out before you bite my head off.
AoE-wise comparison only:
Compare Ranger Longbow to Warrior Longbow…. warrior is a better ranger hands down.. ground targeted AoEs, a good burst skill, the warrior just wins there.
Compare Thief Shortbow to Ranger Shortbow…. again the ranger loses in terms of sheer AoE.
Okay enough hating on rangers….
Compare Thief dagger versus Warrior GS/sword/hammer/whatever…. warrior cleave AoE (even though it’s melee it still effects an area) wins, no contest there. Why do you think we have 4 warrior 1 mesmer groups for dungeons? Have you seen a 4 thief 1 mesmer group? It was likely unintentionally organized if you did :P I’m not saying the thief needs a buff, just comparing AoE’s here for perspective.
These are just a few small examples of what is really the big picture, but you all play the game, and you all know as well as I do some AoEs are better than others. I think all classes should have the ability to have at least some decent AoE. I main a Ranger, Thief, and Warrior, and so far the only class from those 3 that I think needs balancing for AoE is the Ranger. You are forced into a trap build for AoE (if you don’t use an axe/torch, which is sub-par for most things anyways compared to shortbow), which is against how this game is said to be designed. There isn’t much freedom in choices there.
So, I read the official posts, and I agree with what they are saying. They need to rebalance things among every class to open up more weapon choices. Hopefully they don’t make things worse in the process, though.
Ouch, looks like they’ve reduced the chances of getting a precursor even more then. Used to be that 500g+ on rares would pretty much assure you of one.

Anet. Please fix precursors. There is no reason for anything to cost 500G on the trade post.
What was intended as a small step on the road to a Legendary has become the whole journey. Compared with getting a Precursor, all the other stuff you need to craft one is insignificant.
RNG is a terrible way to hand out the best rewards in the game, please reconsider this as a strategy.
No, it’s called RNG… some people will drop 2000k and never see a precursor. Some guy will run up to the MF with 4 rares and get a dusk. It’s how it goes.
I had 25k commendations. Now every single character on my account has full exotic weapon sets, including stuff I’ll probably never use. I just made a level 1 necro and bought full exotic 80 weapon sets for him, everything I think he would use.
I still have about 5k commendations….
took my mesmer into 15-25 area, completed the area at level 25, picked up only 5 items for my class, only 3 of those items I could upgrade to.
This means @ lvl 25, I am heading into a 25-35 area with:
Head: lvl 18
Shoulders: lvl 12
Top: lvl 14
Gloves: lvl 8
Pants: lvl 18
Boots: lvl 14
GreatSword: lvl 19
Scepter: lvl 11
Focus: lvl 14

Spear: lvl20This is NOT going to be fun … challenging yes, fun no.
Low level blue and green gear is so cheap from the market you should be able to afford it just from vendoring all the trash you find.

Can we get some sort of an official statement on the RNG chance of rolling precursors from the gear boxes compared to, say, rolling 4 75+ rares or exotics in the MF?

DR is a little too extreme in this game. The idea is good, I agree with it, but when I do events in cursed shore for one hour and start seeing events giving me 75% and 50% karma/exp, something is wrong there.

What is with all the questions on the first page about getting banned? No, you aren’t going to be banned for using the pick to do it’s job.
Because in this game getting a perm ban is the equivalent of any other game’s warning. Where another game would say “This is against system rules. Do this again and you’ll receive a 3 day suspension”, here you will be swiftly and immediately removed from the game, without the possibility of return, regardless of your past account history.
It’s kinda scary, tbh. I don’t blame the players for double checking every little thing. At first the MMO community was like “wooo go Arenanet! Crack down on the evildoers!” but now the company is getting something of an infamous reputation because of it >_>
This. I have always supported and defended Anet, but I DO NOT agree with how they have handled the banhammer thus far, and I have yet to be on the receiving end of it. That should say something…. as there are many people who have yet to be banned who are still in extreme disagreement with what they are doing.
Lots of hate on CD in this thread, sad to see that. As a commander in RISE, I’ll see you all out on the battlefield this week. I can definitely say that whatever attitudes you perceive from some of the members on CD shouldn’t be the generalization for all of us. Looking forward to some good battles, as FA was a hard matchup BEFORE they got some new players.

Hey guys, I know a lot of people have been complaining about this, but it’s been messed up on and off for a while now!
We spent hours yesterday trying to get to the Anchorage Waypoint event, and it just never pops. Random events come and go across the cursed shore, instead of following a set path of events like it usually does. Sometimes events are skipped altogether.
What gives? I just want to do this dungeon and get my set lol.

Unless ArenaNet reverses themselves on their philosophy, this will never happen.
They are adamant about the optimal stat-set being attainable by even casual players.
Their ‘anti-grind’ model revolves around the fact that a player can achieve maximum power relatively quickly. Thus, what people do grind is now completely optional, and only for cosmetic purposes (which many love, and will grind for endlessly).The plan outlined in the original suggestion completely violates this philosophy, and has no place in Guild Wars 2.
The above is no reflection of whether or not I like the idea. I actually don’t mind it myself. I do however, wish that threads like this would stop popping up, because ANet has so far not shown any inclination to vastly alter their game philosophy. I would not bank on it any time soon, or ever.

I’d say its a good amount of all of those factors that are involved.
Either way, I understand what you are saying, but I just disgaree. If it was about skill&dedication and nothing else, many more people would end up having the weapon, and those with no lives would have one very quickly.
It might sound unorthodox and odd, and people will probably disagree with me, but I think it should involve skill, dedication, wealth, luck, and farm. I don’t think it should be so centric around luck and farm, but to some degree it shouldn’t just be given to you after x amount of time or completion.
They are special for a reason, and if you take away some of the factors that make them so difficult to obtain, you also take away it’s uniqueness in having one.
If you play other games Free to play not to mention any, would you Allow people with skins to deal addtional damage or have additional stats only because they put real money into the game ?

It should require more than just money, it should require time. Although I don’t agree with how much gold it actually costs to achieve Legendary status in this game, it’s how it is and we have to deal with.

Not 1 player should be entitled to have an item that is simply better than the rest, when all it takes to get that item is insane wealth or luck – specially when you can buy wealth with real money.That said, as I wrote above, Legendaries should have perks.

Skin alone seems lackluster.
If you can change its stats whenever you want (kind of how you change Major Traits); or if it has some unique bonus or effect; or if it adds some extra spice to your combat animations, kind of like enchantments in WoW, it would be perfect.
I agree, but that alone isn’t enough for me to be honest. I know one day I will have a legendary, and I want some damage to show for it, I don’t just want a skin. While the skin is awesome, it has nothing else to show for it.
It’s a perk for you putting your time into the game. And sure, people will probably pay money and get it faster, but with how Legendaries are setup you still have to invest LOTS of time. But you can still get it by investing your time, just as many other people will. I dont care if I dont have it as soon as pay2win’ers, because I will get mine eventually.
You say you cant make that kind of money? I made 1g in 30 mins last night just roaming around gathering mats. Orichalcum is 3-4s each, I found 5 of them in total. Lots of other high tier mats too. You can farm gold if you work at it, and you can make it on the market too. There is no excuse as to why you cant have the same thing you seem to be complaining about (a nice weapon with extra damage).
What it sounds like to me is, the people who are complaining about the extra damage Legendaries could have, are the people who will never actually go out and earn one for themselves. They will just whine when something eventually is implemented that makes the weapon better than it is now.
My 2 cents.
Let’s get this straight:
- Getting legendary weapons is about wealth and/or luck. More wealth gives you more shots at being lucky.
- All it takes for Legendary weapons to ruin the game is being 1% better than the next best thing.
Why?
Because the best equipment establishes the standard for competition.
Pretending it not to be the case is just denial.Having 5% of the players being better than you because they’re richer or luckier is a ridiculous design philosophy.

Legendary Skins should be a Skin bought from the Online Store and give absolutely NO bonuses.
That’s how you make money out of a Free To Play game, make sure you can’t get something in the game other than using the Online Store so people that really really wants it will just pump money in the game for Esthetic.You can’t make Legendaries and your Epic thing better than exotic as they will be required to be on top levels of play. It would imbalance the game.
Only when its impossible/nearly impossible to complete with an Exotic. If it’s possible with exotics, it will never make the next tier mandatory.
Not to mention, as I said above, given the time frame it takes to get a legendary weapon, they will never be mandated, simply because no one would be able to find parties with full legendaries. It would be a PERK to get someone with a legendary, which is the whole point.

Legendary weapon “perks” should be:
- the skin,
- the accomplishment,
- let you pick their “stats” whenever you want, instead of having to transmute.You will never feel satisfied as long as all you care about in the game is more stats.
How would you ever make a legendary weapon mandatory? They are too hard to get. It would never happen. You make dungeons doable with Exotic weapons, and anything above is a perk.
And yes, I would be satisfied (until something better comes along). I just want to see some sort of progression in damage. Even if its 5% damage increase, better than nothing.

Okay I am mostly cool with the way Legendary Weapons are done in this game, sure they may take forever to get and require insane amounts of money, but thats part of what makes it fun for me. I know its going to take me forever to get, and it will keep me busy. What I don’t agree with is the low amount of damage bonus you get for all that effort, not to mention the Achievement you get for getting a legendary is what, 5 points? What is that BS?

Epic should be a tier between Exotic and Legendary that requires around 50-100g worth of mats/items to craft (must craft yourself). This could be done using a combination of dungeon tokens (to avoid pay2win) as well as some mats you can gather, and there are other ideas people could throw around about what could be required (such as story completion, since that reward sucks). Epics should also look AWESOME but not so detailed and crazy as the legendaries.
This would also give legendaries more kick and have much greater use without making them super op. 15% additional damage (over exotic) is a good bit, but not overkill. Worth it for a weapon that costs 500g or more and takes months for many to get. Also raise the achievement for getting a legendary to 50 or 100 points. It is stupid at 5 points (legendary collector).
If you think this is a good idea, please reply and +1 this thread. I’d like to see something like this in game to be honest.

Well, I had a thought about the teleport costs. They are a little high in some cases, so why not give this some consideration?
Leave the costs as they are right now, BUT, if you are already at a way point maybe they can have a 50% cost reduction?

I just had a friend quit bc of the sheer lack of pvp in this game. What is here is fun, and I am glad Anet made such a good game, but it could be so much closer to ‘THAT game’ if some things were added.

You’re clearly not seeing what you’re saying.
Contribution is based on the damage you deal. So, by increasing the damage of the condition builders, you’re taking it away from the non-conditioners. Also, by removing the cap, you’re allowing the bleeders to basically increase their damage indefinitely, thus taking away indefinite amounts of contribution from the non-conditioners.
And no, adding HP is not the solution. Adding HP is your solution to the increased damage from conditions. But the damage of the non-conditioners has not increased, so by increasing the HP, you would be handing out free contribution to the condition builds. And you would effectively switch the situation to a point where condition damage is supremely effective and non-condition builds struggle to get contribution in longer boss fights.
Bleeders cant increase damage indefinitely… are you nuts? Our bleeds expire rather quickly. I can max out around 20-22 bleeds on my ranger before it goes back down, and once quickening zephyr is on CD i stay between 5 and 15. The damage stays constant and averages out, it doesn’t keep increasing.
By removing the cap, you are making it fair. Allowing all the bleeders to do the maximum damage their build was made for. With a cap, it’s being split many ways.

Actually, you don’t have to go burst, condition, or a balance between both. What ever happened to pure damage based DPS builds like the one’s that many people run with S/D? For example, I run a 0/30/20/20/0 build which has no “burst” to speak of, and no condition damage either. It’s a balanced DPS build which, quite frankly, would be ridiculouslyly OP with “Assassin Training”.
I can’t tell if this a troll or a joke. There is no pure dps build on a thief not involving crit or cond , period.
He’s pointing out that you can run a power/crit build without necessarily using a burst play style. Burst is not synonymous with power-based damage, afterall.
And I can 100% guarantee it won’t be a viable build at killing anything other then 100% afks if it runs Just Power and not crit. If it is crit based, with the scaling of Crit damage, no matter what he is going to be doing burst with the hardest hitting attack in the weaponset.
Maybe he is playing a different game and doesn’t know what forums this is. The attack animations/attack speed in this game (at least for this archetype) are crazy slow (barring quickness ofc), compared to other games. Add that to the unnaturally limiting initiative system (slow regen too), there is 0% chance for Power only DPS
I dont like how you are so absolute with the way you are against power builds. They can work against some things, but you are saying they work nowhere.
High, non-burst, sustained damage works wonders and is actually better than “burst” in many scenarios. My ranger counters the hell out of burst-y thives, due to signet of stone and protect me synergy. Me and my pet take zero dmg for 6 secs.

Having people pay to get waypoint costs reduced/eliminated is just OP. It should take a LONG TIME to earn it. I, and many others, had the idea of getting a 50% reduction (or possibly free though I dont agree with that) cost for teleporting to an area you already have 100% completion of.
The endless merchant thing is cool because it doesn’t give anyone else an unfair advantage, besides just being able sell stuff remotely or similar.

precision/condition damage/toughness is my fav armor mods and i’ve been using this for over 700h. there’s no accessories with those mods (in exotic) but there is in masterwork… who wants masterwork when there’s exotic ones? so stupid not to include this in exotic.

Also I remember the stats i wanted on armor/accessories now.
I just checked, and there are no Precision/Condition Damage/Toughness accessories. It’s either Power/Prec/Toughness Emerald or Power/Precision/Condition Damage Coral.
I am not sure if the same applies to armor, but I would assume it might. That is the stat I would LOVE to see in game. You can get the stat combo in SPvP, but from what I’ve seen you can’t in regular PVE mode.
Pretty sure the ceasefire has ended(I’m in Kaineng). Devona’s rest want both of us now.

6) I know there are 2 prefixes that apply: rampager, which is craftable, and rabid , which can be obtained from AC , HotW and Arah . After 2 grinds to lvl 80 you really should have noticed
Was just going by memory, my mistake. I was wrong. I dont remember what set it was they dont have, I was talking to someone else about it yesterday. I should have probably checked before posting that but i’m lazy.
There is a cond/prec/tough set, called Rabid. It can’t be crafted but you can get it from dungeons or karma vendors in orr
There is also Rampager which is prec/cond/power which is craftable and comes from like 5 dungeons (including CoF)
Maybe it wasn’t CoF that didn’t have it then, I know it was somewhere I wished they had one and they didn’t. I shall find out! But yes, CoF does indeed have that set.
1.) Puts up an unfair advantage versus normal people who have to carry around many types of armor and weapons for different builds.
And what of those who don’t have Exotics yet? You can’t even get exotics till late game and the first explore dungeon is 35, so a level 35 has no equal gear to that of a 80 in full exotic. Not to mention traits. Sorry I don’t buy Unfair advantage with the way he described. Furthermore, how about those who don’t have an exotic set of EVERY weapon type? Aren’t they already at a disadvantage?
level 80 is not that difficult to reach, and you can farm a full set of dungeon gear in a week or less. you are a complainer, sir.
Does anyone have any opinions on any of this? Good/bad?
8) A stretch here, but a hotkey/function that displays all things I can loot/activate would be AWESOME. Sometimes it is hard to see quest items laying around, and sometimes I miss loot piles. Just like CTRL displays yellow names, you could have another function to display other ones. If there is one already, please let me know LOL.
9) More titles to unlock! Titles are awesome, but they seem to be pretty rare in this game.
10) Better bot management. Its just an idea, since I dont know how you guys handle bots at Anet, but what if you assigned a “weighting” system to reports received. Im only to assume you guys do a “first come first serve” type deal with bot reports right now, where a bot gets reported, put into a queue, and when a gm can get to it they check it out. What if the # of reports pushed a bot report to the top so that a more active/bigger group of bots had potential to get banned faster? Obviously the bigger groups could be more of a problem, and this could lead to easier “mass bans” of bots until a better solution is reached. NOTE: this idea has nothing to do with ALL reports received (such as tech support, account problems, etc), but only to do with just the botting reports. This wouldnt impact anything outside of the botting reports that GMs analyze.
11) A redesigned WvW system (though im not sure how). Right now its very fun but on my server (Ferguson’s Crossing) the other 2 teams had officially declared (on the forums) a ceasefire, which means its basically a 2v1 for us. This was about a week ago. I’m fairly certain it ended, but things like that make it difficult for 1 server to do much of anything and there isn’t anything anyone can do about it but Anet or the servers involved.
12) More monster events in WvW. I think it would be awesome if there was a huge dragon/boss monster that spawned, and whichever server did more damage to it got the loot (or whatever Anet wanted to do). Or say, if while 2 teams were battling at a keep, a risen horde spawned and wanted to take it for themselves. IDK, I dont know how people feel about mixing pve with the wvw aspect but im sure something could be done in a way that doesnt detract from the pvp aspect of it.
13) Underwater combat is just slow and terrible. They did it better in this game than in any other mmo, but it could be more fun by just increasing attack speed/damage ACROSS THE BOARD for every class. At level 80 i probably do 1/2 to 1/3 the damage underwater as I do above, and that might even be a stretch. its very tedious. Even in low level zones on my level 80 character, underwater killing is slow. It was like this on my warrior, on my ranger, and its like that as well on my new ele/guardian too.
14) Lastly, just a request. New shortbow skins. Ive played just about every class and used many different weapon combinations, but the only one I can never find a nice skin for is the shortbow. Even some of the longbow skins that looks very similar are just nicer, because its bigger. You have these huge flashy awesome greatswords and swords and axes and whatever else, but shortbows I think need some work. I like just about every nightmare weapon/flame legion weapon/ghastly weapon (from the dungeons) but the 2 bows. The one bow that is actually decent (and its barely that) is the inquest one (from CoE), because it has some small lightning effects on it. And the legendary shortbow is just UGH haha. Rainbows and unicorns are funny but I wouldnt want it on a serious main
to each his own though. I envy greatsword users and their twilight/sunrise and other weapons.
Alrighty, so just some things I wanted to suggest/add that I’m sure many other people have brought up before.
I bolded the most important part of every suggestion so that people who tl;dr can skim.
1) Trade Broker Preview. We’ve heard it many times, just putting it out there, trade broker needs a preview option!
2) A less-temporary preview page. What I mean by this is, if you want to preview multiple different sets together, you have to leave the preview window open while finding everything. This is particularly annoying when you are previewing different sets of dungeon gear together, as you cant see the dialog sometimes and stuff is just in the way.
3) Dungeon/instance matching, another popular one. The ability to select both a dungeon, and story/exp mode would be EXCELLENT. Getting suspended from chat is annoying and makes it even harder to find a party for a dungeon when I only spam a few times every 3-5 minutes.
4) A guild list inside the game. I know you can go to various websites to see the various guilds and stuff, but the information is outdated and not always complete. Maybe there is a list of them, but I’ve never been able to find it.
5) The ability to invite someone to an instance that another full party already started. Now, maybe there is a way around this that I dont know about, but right now, if you have a full party running an instance and someone leaves the group for whatever reason, if you invite another person to the instance they will essentially get put into a NEW copy of the same instance, that is completely unstarted and has none of their party members actually in it. So if you were at the last boss and someone leaves, if you cant do it you are basically screwed. This could also tie into the “Instance Matching” idea that many people have, where if a party needs another member while in the middle of a dungeon, they could simply requeue and get a new member. So essentially you could either invite someone you know to the instance (after its already been partially completed), or queue and find a random person to come.
6) made a new post below, edited this one, its actually Precision/Condition Damage/Toughness that I want. Ignore #6 and refer to my post 12 posts down with the screenshot Precision + Condition Damage Armor. PLEASE! This applies to at least the Citadel of Flame dungeon set and a number of other exotic sets, but on my ranger I can not find a set of armor that has precision + condition damage. its either condition damage vitality and power, or power precision toughness i believe, or something else i dont even use.
7) Reduced teleport costs. Even after finding an arachnophobia and making 50g or so on it, I am still worried about money bc of teleporting. Its crazy! I have a simple idea that would help TREMENDOUSLY without reducing the effectiveness of it being a gold sink so much. If you 100% complete a zone, make traveling to that zone 50% cost. That’s it! That way it would give people more incentive to get world/zone completion, and it would still cost money to port around.

They should give you a warning in all honesty.
Should give you a warning that will expire in X # of days (after seeing it)
once that warning expires if its not resolved then place a ban.
While I can’t say I was ever given an explicit warning “your name xx was unacceptable, if this happens again you will be suspended”, I am smart enough to assume/know it would happen. Honestly I did want to make an acceptable name this time around, just couldn’t get in touch with support quick enough.

So I’ve come to terms with the fact that I will miss out on the first 3 days of Halloween, but I will get my gems back or I will dispute the charge made on my card. And we’ll see how I feel about playing the game when I finally can. This has been severely disappointing and kind of killed my will and excitement towards this game : /
Yeah that sucks, I haven’t spent any IRL cash in game yet, I likely will but not until I get back on.
It is just lame because I woke up with pink-eye yesterday so I was going to play today while taking time off of life. Now I have nothing fun to do LOL.

I thought there would be some sort of confirmation but there wasnt :-/ Anyways I don’t want to be in violation of the rules, I want to change it to something normal. This worked for me, enjoying perfect sound now in GW2 on my G930

But there is still a permanent solution until you switch USB ports… (If so, then simply configure it again)
Assuming you are running Windows 7, (should work in most other Win OS’s):
Open your control panel and start up sound.
Find the G930 device, highlight it and choose configure.
For me, the only Audio channel available was 7.1 surround. Choose that or something similar and click next.
Untick side pair and rear pair and click next. (You should only have Center and Subwoofer ticked now)
Full-range speakers should be the only option ticked. If not make sure it is. Click next.
Click finish.
Restart any applications that you have been having issues with.
You should now be enjoying proper stereo. This also has not effected my 7.1 surround emulation for the headset itself.
Not confirmed, but I think the problem is that Win recognizes the headset as 7.1 which it really is not. The headset only has two speakers and emulates 7.1 only. Configuring windows to treat it as such seems to do the trick. This would probably be why no one (logitech or Adobe etc etc) has done anything significant to correct the problem. Because it isn’t really their products that are the problem to begin with. It’s Windows.
