Hard to say but if its like the HoT beta, they ran it on live servers you just didn’t get to keep any drops from the zone. They added the expac files to the base game as an update, no beta installation.

If you are forge tossing, lvl 76-80 is what you can input and get a precursor. You also receive lvl76-80 items as intended.

Devs. Please. Is this ALL we are getting other than legendary armor? no different maps or wvw being seperate from pve?

Mike o’ said in the AMA that wvw and pvp updates are not tied to the expac. Which means there is no content for them coming “with” the expansion. It does not mean that there won’t be new content coming.
It’s comical how many people post crap without reading the whole dev post…

Massive Lag

Yea so much lag last night had to leave wvw and still didn’t get much loot running temples. Seems to be only during NA prime that the lag starts. During offpeak hours gameplay is fine. Unfortunately there is no effective way to stop a ddos attack when its well coordinated.

Yea I’ve had that happen a bunch, haven’t been able to reproduce it consistently enough to narrow down the cause. Hasn’t happened recently though, maybe they fixed it with a recent patch? not in notes

No there isn’t a way to reorder guilds short of leaving them all and joining them in the order you desire and the /guild one is the guild you’re currently representing. Just remember the number and do /g1-5

Bring back Mad Memoires + Toymaker’s Bag

Neither the Toymaker’s Bag nor Mad Memoires (complete or otherwise) are in the unlock.


Should every skin be available to everyone? I’m not convinced. It’s a reasonable request, to be sure. All the same, I like the idea that a tiny number of skins depend on having been around at the right time & place — like being a “founding member” of a club, it offers a certain amount of warm fuzzies. (I was sad when GW1 gave up that idea, since I enjoyed being able to tell who was a long-time player from the Halloween or Wintersday caps they wore, even though it meant I wasn’t able to acquire them.)

I think this practice is only okay, so long as the number of such skins is very small and opportunities to acquire new “limited edition” skins are available to newbies. To date, the first requirement is met (I think there are less than half a dozen of these), but ANet hasn’t made any similar ones available recently.

I agree that there should be a few skins that are of this nature (ie only available once), but the number should be small. They should be reserved for pretty large events, such as being a beta tester, having an account from day 1, playing through LWS1 when it was available, beta testing HoT. Stuff like that.

I don’t know if I can consider Mad Memories to be one of those skins because it was an event skin that you received through an annual event (even though it was only released once). If each Halloween came with its own unique skin then I would be perfectly fine with Mad Memories not being available again. I think part of the reason that people want it back is because it was implied that it would come back every year due to being tied to an annual event, and yet it hasn’t with no explanation from ANet.

That wasn’t an anual event, was a year specific quest or mission you had to complete at that time to get the skin. It must remain exclusive to people who were there at the time. It was fun, it was hard and special.
Please don’t bring that skin ever again. It’s one of the few time specific skins we have in all GW2.

I wouldn’t mind them not being reintroduced, as long as they give those of us who had the achievement the unlock. I’m sad that they didn’t retroactively unlock the skin when wardrobe was introduced and I had gotten rid of it.
I know many who had it but didn’t keep them till the wardrobe came out.

If you are running the game as administrator that could be the problem. The drivers for your mouse will not work correctly as they are run in a non-elevated mode, when interacting with an elevated application.

UAC Issues on windows 10

Since updating to windows 10 I’ve had to put up with uac prompts after patches, which breaks compatibility with utilities run without elevation, until I restart windows. I have the game installed on another drive, not in program files. I’ve checked the permissions on the files and they are set full access for all users. I also have another game on the same drive that has no uac prompts after updates ever.
The uac prompt isn’t a problem except that my extra mouse buttons don’t work, and overlay programs will not function unless run in administrator, and I can’t run everything as administrator.
Not sure if anyone else has this issue, but its really annoying to have to reboot my pc every time there’s an update. It’s also odd that it doesn’t actually prompt for uac when it’s updating, but only on the 2nd run.
Any solutions anyone has that doesn’t involve running as administrator would be nice.

I have discovered that using disk management to set the ssd to offline then online seems to break whatever handles the system had with the drive allowing non-elevated execution of the game again. It would seem gw2 leaves behind some permissions issues until the system is forced to purge the drive.
If anyone else has this issue it would be nice to know if this is the case.

Wouldn’t adding a link during the WvW loading screen be an option similar to when the ESL matches are being streamed on twitch?

This option would work except that it requires a game update to turn on/off the link, just like the ESL.

I would like either option but a better example/explanation of the plan would be more informative. On my server there is probably a 50% split of people who won’t play the DBL. When our most popular commanders switch from EBG to DBL they lost almost half of the group.

I missed the last poll but based on the response I think it would be best to not use the words Yes or No for selections unless it is actually a yes or no question. Use bullet style selection with a description instead or something similar to avoid confusion.
Some people just don’t think about the selection as hard, which makes the polls end up biased when they read the question quickly and misunderstand it.

Would also be nifty if there was an option to have these polls sent to email or sms so when we’re on vacation we know about them.

Yep working on the predator, and the escort team is broken. Captain Wiley is also hard to get as his spawn timer bugs out. Managed to get a new map for him.
It’s ridiculous for these bugs to exist for so long. Either fix them or add alternative acquisition methods.

All maps except for ebg outmanned and mostly empty on a Saturday evening.
JQ could really use some transfers. IoJ merge added like 10 people to our community.
It’s really a shame to see JQ so empty.

Try campaigning the benefits of wvw to the pve crowd through map chat.. oh wait that wont work. Well guess your sol unless they add a /server chat function, which would be a huge benefit to every wvw community.
Most servers have some toxic element towards whatever their weak to.

Bring Back the Desert Borderland!

When they first gave access to Desert maps in HoT beta, I hated those. Big, confusing, full of high things to fall into death. I was pretty disappointed when not that much was changed to the actual release.

Still in the months to follow I learned to move around the maps. It was easy to explore those as there was never any enemies around. They have been patched several times now and I feel the maps are fine. Only thing that really bugs me atm is how big the keeps are and how difficult it is to find an enemy in the keep.

thats because majority still dont play the desert maps and for all of you telling them to keep them youve never been in a 4 hr fight for a keep in the alpine bl most of you have only seen the dersert bl and those that were there on the alphine and you say you prefer the desert bl well you were a bottom tier server werent you

Apparently you haven’t been playing recently. On NSP we’ve been fighting constantly to keep fire and air, we loose them every night when the hod blob comes fighting for over an hour. We’ll successfully stave them off 3 or 4 times before our number dwindle too low.
Regardless of us loosing keeps, many of us still prefer the DBL because of the interesting dynamics it brings during fights with all the cliffs
Sure it takes a bit of time to learn the paths from one place to another, and it also takes a bit longer to get where you’re going, but that makes certain places much easier to defend with less numbers.
Now, if they could do something about the random people pulling tactics right before a huge zerg hits us that would be great.

Following might already be done…if that’s the case…disregard:

Create a “Circle Capture Reward & Participation” trigger.

A Pre-Set Reward & Participation Total gets divided among all players in the circle (or players flagged to have contributed) when it completes.


A Player’s WvW Participation score is then used to adjust the final payout that they are awarded.

A Player’s WvW Participation score is then increased after the Reward is paid out.

Players in a small capture group should have a higher payout of Reward per person than being in a massive zerg.

Players in a small capture group should have a higher gain of Participation per person than being in a massive zerg.

Players running in a massive zerg are already rewarded by the thrill of conquest…

We really need to reward the smaller groups that get the ball rolling, or continue to fight against the odds…

I suggested something pretty similar. Large groups are going to be able to cap things faster anyway so the rewards should balance out.

The only issue I see with that is some people will get upset when others join them as they’ll get a smaller reward.

I can’t get some of the karka as an engineer as i loose the rifle when i go in the water, probably related to the way kits work on engineers.

As an engineer you lose the rifle if you go underwater which happens sometimes getting to some of the karka hatchlings, making it impossible to complete.

so.. as an engineer I’m supposed to just use my gun to shoot things on the wall in wvw?
The default grenade range at 1200 was useless already for attacking keeps. Now that the default is 900 that will make the trait’d version useless also.
Every class should have some sort of ranged aoe barrage for wvw and this just makes engi not able to defend keeps as well as all the others.
+1 for:
Juggernaut: Gain a stack of might for 15s and a stack of stability for 3s every 3 seconds while using the Flamethrower.

Crashing when using diving goggles

Actually my guild had a completion zerg in malchors leap on the 20th and when we went to Lyssa and got the northern vista where the diving goggles are half of the zerg crashed. I had put the goggles on but had not jumped when my client crashed. When I loaded back in I reequipped the goggles and jumped off it didn’t crash. So I think its an existing issue that occurs only under certain conditions. Although it was quite a hilarious bug at the time :-)
