I am a 28 year old casual player on Anvil Rock who mostly does PvE (although I do have occasional rampages through PvP). I am looking for a guild that is friendly and easy going and (here’s the kicker) not think that kitten /sexist/homophobic jokes are hilarious. I am a woman. I play female characters and I’ve been in a couple different guilds who, for the most part, have a great bunch of people on them. Then comes along someone (usually high ranking in the guild to boot) and starts making cracks about how we are totally “kitten ” enemy or about how said enemy is a insert derogatory homophobic comment here This may sound like a lot to ask, but I don’t like playing with trolls and am just trying to find a guild with a zero tolerance policy against comments like that. As I stated, I’ve been in guilds who claim too not accept that behavior but when I point it out to them I would generally get lambasted in chat instead of the person making the comments. end rant
Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, like I said, I am casual in play style but do have a couple lvl 80’s of various classes. I’ve run a the majority of the dungeons and (even thought its been a while) would even say I am fairly experienced in some of them. I like to joke around (despite my earlier paragraph. I do have a pretty good sense of humor). I really don’t want to have to guest or change servers so someone with a base on the Anvil Rock server would be preferable. I will also warn though that I am still in college so I do generally fall away during the school year. Right now I’m just looking for some fun people to hang out with over the summer.

I am considering joining a guild that could help with my understanding/enjoyment of the game. I believe that I have achieved what may be considered a “moderate” level of comprehension. I have a couple lvl 80’s and have run a few dungeons. My main enjoyment comes from PvE (although I do go through mad bouts of PvP MUST DESTROY EVERYTHING! then don’t play it again for 3 months ^.^) I’ve never done WvW or Fractals.
I’ve also never joined a guild so anyone who is serious or who would be upset over my ignorance in guild courtesy particulars, please don’t PM.
Ok, so enough about my life. This is what I’m looking for:
-I’m on Eastern time so guilds that are active in those evenings/weekend times would be
cool (just cus I don’t want to have to explain to my guild mates why I’m going to bed
at 11pm their time -.-)
-I have a work and school so during semesters (especially in finals weeks) I may disappear
all together so a “must be this active” can’t work
- I’m on Anvil Rock and I’ve made a few friends there so I’m not really interested in world
transfers.
- I also don’t have a voice system and don’t really plan on getting one so if its required for your guild please don’t PM.
Respond here or PM me! I’m generally on in the mornings and evenings right now and randomly during the weekends.
Holy crap even after the problem are fixed you guys are still amazing! Will defiantly make a backup for future use. Then if something like this happens I won’t fall to my knees dramatically and scream “nooooooo!” I’ll just follow your directions. Thanks again!
Ok, so I completely uninstalled everything and am currently reinstalling it. Good news is that I can see my progress bar! Bad news is thakittens taking for freakin ever. Thank you so much for your help you guys. I know you are just awesome gamers who look out for the inept (such as myself) and don’t get nearly the props you deserve. You rock!
Ok, so I let the client run for a good 2-3 hrs this morning and got nowhere. It didn’t load then restart itself, it just goes right to that blank screen.
Not sure if you’re experiencing the same problem. When I open the client it never fully loads (no login info/play or full update bar despite saying its 100%) Attached a screen shot of the client. This is after a good 10 minutes or so of just hanging out so I know its not a loading issue.
Anyone have any suggestions? I’ve already gone into my library and deleted the GW2 file, restarted the client and restarted the computer. Currently running on OS X10.8.4
