Thank you Vermil.
You see…
I have an issue here.
I can only play casually due to RL responsibilities. So I’ve been tying different builds, but can’t decide. So my question is, sword +(axe, warhorn) good enough for PvE? with little or no weapon swapping? The reason I’d prefer not to weapon swap is because 1. simplicity 2. my wasd hand (left hand) is hurt.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Just started an engineer, I’ve read guides, youtube videos and whatnot…
… but I’m still a bit confused on which build is best suited for PvE (dungeons, etc.) rifle or pistols?
I’ve been leaning on pistols since I’ve played power builds before, want something a bit different (if possible) perhaps a mix of dps/utility/support. Online guides don’t make it as clear, specially for a non-english native speaker.
Any tips are greatly appreciated.
Only if life was that simple rolo, most of us still hanging around have ran all those scans, tests, and updates and its still occurring lol.
I’m not seeing that; I am seeing a whole lot of waiting around for Anet to do something when there’s still plenty to do client-side, beginning with a DXdiag dump.
More basics:
- SFC /SCANNOW
- Reinstall DirectX from Microsoft downloads
- Deleting \My Documents\Guild Wars 2 folder and \Program Files\Guild Wars 2 folders before reinstallingRelating to this topic, for me these problems started with the last (25/9) patch. I did almost everything humanly possible to locate the core of file corruption (repair, reinstall, update drivers (btw. gtx 560 ti), memtest, disk check (both with 0 errors passes, system restore to the point the game was running smoothly etc.)) and I am still getting crashes every +- 10 minutes into the game. I can play any other (either online or offline) game with no problem at all, so I have started to believe that the problem with the file corruption is based solely in GW2.
It crashes but what does it report? Is GW2 process halting or are you getting BSODs?
What other games do you play and do they tax hardware as much? What are your temps and loads?
Rolo, I don’t mean to intrude, and I don’t want to sound rude neither, but I’m sure many of us thought of doing that way before you even had the slightest clue something like that could ever be done to a pc.
I’m sure many would appreciate the help, but some of us are wayyy ahead of the game. Not all people are clueless or computer illiterate you know… and its not wise to assume so. And some people post for very valid and legitimate reasons.

No improvement for me after today’s patch. Still sitting at 17-19 fps in Black Citadel (before I enjoyed frames as high as 45). Lately my gaming sessions are as follows:
log in – check fps – log out.
@ Orlen
While that might be partially true, you can’t rule out the fact that GW2 may have some serious memory/optimization issues. Since the last patch, I got a major fps hit in cities, running barely at 19fps. Prior the patch I was enjoying frames as high as 45 – 55fps (at max settings no less)
For a person like me (and I’m sure many others) that have been pc gaming since the early 90’s (don’t mean to brag – just want to point out that I’ve been dealing with pcs for nearly 20+ years) I know for a fact that my system/setup/configuration is not the issue.
Cannot attach .dat files. Hopefull these will help.
I can’t begin to describe how dissapointed I am now I’m having to deal with performance issues (which did not happen before). Same happened to TSW, and after many hours/days of trying to search for solutions, uninstalled. Can’t be bothered with having to deal with these issues anymore.
… and its not my hardware/setup, of that I am very sure.

After the 25th, crashes are becoming quite frequent. Also I got a major fps hit in cities.
Also, I would like to add, that I got a major fps hit in big cities such as Black Citadel. Previous to the last patch, I enjoyed frames as high as 45 – 50. Now I barely get 20.
Crashed two times in a row. Crashes are becoming more frequent.
I’m a AMD user.

I’ve had a significant fps drop since the last few patches. Prior to that, I was running at 50 – 60 constantly, now I’m running between 35 – 40, and sometimes as low as 19.
