My support ticket was closed on Saturday by a GM with the following message:

Greetings!

Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars Support Team. I am happy to advise that your reported issue has now been resolved. If you continue to have the same issue; please submit an in-game bug report. To submit a bug report in game, simply bring up your “Game Menu” located in the upper left hand corner, and then choose the lifesaver icon for “Support.” From the “Support” menu, you can either click “Report a Bug” or just go directly the Ladybug Icon in the support menu to enter your submission.

This is INCORRIGIBLE. “We are happy to report this issue has now been resolved?!?!?!” My character is still on the level 48 quest. Other users continue to report this issue. This is unacceptable.

Additionally, there is another thread on these forums about this issue in which we were told a fix was coming. That was a week ago, and we have heard nothing since: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Going-from-a-level-30-Story-Quest-to-a-level-48-skipping-the-story-line

Can we please get some kind of update on this issue, even it’s just a “the bug is fixed, and we’re still working on getting your characters’ stories rolled back?”

It is very frustrating to have no indication of whether this issue is still being worked on, or whether it has been shelved in lieu of other issues that have taken higher priority.

@noobus: As I understand it, if this bug hit you at lvl 30/31, you CANNOT complete the Lvl 48 story, because you never actually joined a faction. Since the lvl 48 quest is a faction-related quest (priory, vigil, whispers) and you are not a member of the appropriate faction, the quest will not trigger.

Most of us have posted in that thread, but it states very clearly that there should be NO DISCUSSION there, only posting of the requested information.

Many of us are still waiting for some word on what will be done about this issue. I know that I’ve stopped playing my character except in PvP, and my girlfriend is now hurtling ahead of me in levels.

I think what most people here want is just some kind of update on any progress made in the last 3 days regarding this issue. What are the current thoughts from the dev team? What kinds of solutions are they looking into? What are the best and worst case scenarios at the moment?

Character effected: Tower of Neatchee
Server: Sorrow’s Furnace
Level 30 Story (Before skip): Dredging up the Past [Phase 2]
Skipped to: Level 48 “On Red Alert”

Triggering Event: Guest in another player’s copy of the quest “Dredging up the Past [Phase 2].” After completion, was offered the “You have earned the right to progress your story” option. Upon pressing “Accept” my character was skipped to Lvl 48 quest “On Red Alert”
